"Shorter if we give adrenaline." Meier said.

"Now." Lance pressed between his teeth.

Meier went back and came back with another needle.

"Turn her around. And hold her still." 

Lance had to know if she was there — now. He felt light-headed, not really there, as he turned Paige's body cautiously in his lap. If he were more clear-headed, he wouldn't let Meier with a needle near her ever again.
