Chapitre 1: Mirror mirror on the wall ...

(MC POV)

What a strange and unreal experience I just had. Being transmigrated into another world, which I thought was pure fiction and then given a cheat to survive in it. Well, I loved to read these reincarnation fanfictions but to think that I am now experiencing one myself ... that's both amazing and terrifying.

I loved the ASOIAF story and the Game of Thrones story as well ... well the first part at least. But I would never want to live here. I mean, it is a terrifying world and deadly beyond belief. Betrayal, murder, backstabbing, r*pe, diseases, the list goes on and on. Well, no use crying over spilt milk. I got a cheat to help me survive this world, or more like, thrive in this world.

I didn't go through the wish-granting step, I read about with a ROB giving me three or some wishes. I thought it was sad at first until I saw my cheat. And now, I'm quite happy about it. I was gifted a Meta Essence. The Essence of the Mirror. And I am very happy with this. This has a LOT of potential and in this world, it will be OP.

- Essence of the Mirror -

By taking this essence, you gain the ability to create reflections of anything.

- You gain the ability to duplicate any object you see, even if it's just an image.

- You can create an infinite number of absolutely loyal clones, and dismiss them at will.

- You can copy powers and abilities, as long as you see them being used.

- You may reflect/bounce any incoming attack in another direction.

- You may travel through any reflective surface.

.

As I said, it will be overpowered in this world. And I will need it too. The truth is that I was transmigrated into someone that I knew very well. A man I didn't like at all but now have to live as ... Petyr Baelish.

Petyr Baelish, also called Littlefinger, is the Lord and head of House Baelish of the Fingers. I am slight and short for my age. To understand my current situation, I have to go through some of my memories, which haven't all returned yet.

Petyr's great-grandfather was a Braavosi sellsword in the service of Lord Corbray. House Corbray of Heart's Home is a noble house from Heart's Home in the Vale of Arryn. It is an old but poor house. But that doesn't really matter now.

When my great-grandfather's son became a hedge knight, he took the stone head of the Titan of Braavos as his sigil. Petyr's father, in turn, was the smallest of small lords of a few rocky acres on the smallest of the Fingers.

Petyr's father once took him to a hermit's cave to see a man said to have the gift of prophecy. Lord Baelish gave the hermit a skin of wine after he groped the boy a bit and said he would be a great man. While I thought this was nonsense at the time and also in my past life, now, I can't help but agree with the child molester. This will surely be great. And that is an understatement.

Petyr's father befriended Hoster Tully during his service in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, and this friendship led to Petyr being sent to be fostered as a ward at Riverrun. The War of the Ninepenny Kings was a conflict between the Band of Nine, a group of merchants, mercenaries and pirates from the Free Cities, and the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. After the Band of Nine had successfully conquered the Stepstones, King Jaehaerys II Targaryen, aware of the fact that the Band of Nine were set on conquering the Seven Kingdoms for the last remaining Blackfyre Pretender, Maelys I Blackfyre, dispatched an army to the Stepstones to defeat the enemies of the Iron Throne.

Petyr's father only played a very minor role in that war and if he had died, no one would have noticed or cared much. But Hoster Tully seemed to have taken a liking to him and that was why he took Petyr in to be fostered at Riverrun. That is where the 'origin story' of Petyr Baelish really starts.

.

Petyr was raised alongside Lord Hoster Tully's children, Catelyn, Lysa, and Edmure. Because of Petyr's family holdings and his short stature, Edmure gave him the nickname "Littlefinger," which he would still be called later in his life. Petyr grew close to the Tully children, and he played with Edmure and his sisters. Catelyn recalls how she and Lysa once made mud pies, which Petyr ate, resulting in him being sick for a week. Yeah, he didn't have a strong body, but why would he eat f*cking mud?

When he had a problem, Petyr went to Lord Hoster's brother, Ser Brynden Tully. Petyr and Edmure once built a castle out of blocks in Hoster's solar, showing that despite the seeming disdain and ridicule Edmure had for Petyr, he still needed a friend about his age. And there was no one around but Petyr.

When Catelyn was twelve, Petyr accompanied the Tullys on a journey to Seagard. They camped at Oldstones, where Catelyn pretended to be Jenny of Oldstones and Petyr her Prince of Dragonflies. Catelyn and Lysa became separated from the rest of their party while riding back from Seagard, but Petyr rode back and found the girls in the fog. I don't know why I remember that detail though ... never mind.

As the children grew older, Petyr fell in love with Catelyn, who was several years his elder. Catelyn did not reciprocate Petyr's feelings, loving him as a brother instead. Catelyn's younger sister, Lysa, on the other hand, fell in love with Petyr. Petyr would play at kissing with both Catelyn and Lysa in the Godswood of Riverrun, attempting to stick his tongue into their mouths. Catelyn stopped Petyr, but Lysa both allowed and enjoyed it. This will be a hard pill to swallow. I will have to deal with this problem or take advantage of it sooner or later.

When Catelyn's betrothal to Brandon Stark, the heir to Winterfell, was announced, Lords Bracken and Blackwood were at Riverrun to settle a feud with Lord Tully's help. Catelyn and Petyr danced six dances that night, but when he tried to kiss her, she pushed him away and laughed at him. Wounded by the rejection, Petyr got drunk, passed out at the table, and was brought to his bed by Brynden Tully. Lysa snuck in after him and gave Petyr her maidenhead that night. Still drunk, Petyr believed he was having sex with Catelyn, and he called Lysa "Cat" and told her he loved her before falling asleep.

In 282 AC, when the date of Catelyn's wedding was announced, the problem arrived. Petyr, scarcely fifteen years old, challenged the twenty-year-old Brandon Stark to a duel for her hand. Petyr arrived with only a helm, breastplate and mail, leading to Brandon taking off most of his own armour. Petyr asked Catelyn for her favour to wear, but she refused, giving it to Brandon instead.

The fight ... which wasn't really a fight, was an embarrassment, to say the least. I can tell that everyone is angry with me right now. Catelyn begged Brandon not to kill Petyr, to which he agreed. While Brandon offered Petyr multiple chances to yield, Petyr refused to give up. In the end, Petyr was staggering and bleeding from a dozen wounds, when Brandon ended the battle with a backhand cut so brutal Catelyn was convinced it was mortal.

.

And that's where I find myself. For some reason, those are the most important things I remember. It is also the same I knew from Petyr in my old life. He was a sad sod when he was young. Now I have to deal with the shit, the old Petyr prepared for me. Now, I am Petyr and I will have to clean up my own shit. This will be embarrassing to say the least, just like the 'fight' was. I will try to get at least some money out of this debacle and then start my plans as fast as possible. The Tourney at Harrenhal was last year and now we have 282 AC, leaving me with very little time before the Rebellion begins. Of course, I will be on the side of Robert Baratheon and his best friend Ned Stark.

The only question is how I will manage to make an impact to take advantage of with so little time. Better to face the ridicule now, and get it over with. I don't care about the insults of lesser men who think that I am a defeated nobody. I will gladly swallow my pride and keep my head down. Because very soon, things will change and I will rise to the top of this world, economically and politically. I will take advantage of the knowledge I hold and take what I want. No one will stand in my way, that's for sure.

Oh yeah, it's all coming together.

*Creak*

The door opens and I see the Maester walk in. He doesn't smile, nor does he look angry, just indifferent. I am sure that my actions were already reported to the Citadel and soon everyone will know about it. But lucky for me, it won't matter because the news will be overshadowed by the tragic news of the She-Wolf, Lyanna Stark's 'abduction'. I say 'abduction' because it is still unknown whether she was taken by force and I am unsure whether this is the TV version or the book version.

"How are you feeling, young Petyr? You have been resting for almost a fortnight. You should be better.", he says and checks on my wounds.

"I am much better, thank you Maester."

"Good, because Lord Hoster wishes to speak with you.", he tells me.

"I understand. I will go there at once.", I say and start to get dressed.

I took the time when Lysa came to 'care' for me and told her I had lost my memories, or at least some of them. I used her 'affection' for me to get as much information as possible from her. She wouldn't tell her father, of that I am certain. She has fallen quite hard for me. She wasn't as ugly as I thought she was after seeing the show, but she was still rather ... 'normal' compared to her sister. I understand my former interest in Catelyn Tully, but to fall that hard for a pretty face is simply embarrassing.

I walk through the corridors and listen to the whispers and looks everyone is giving me. It is not the first time, I have walked through the castle after being injured, so I am now used to it. I took the insults and even the spit, Edmure gave me when he saw me walking around with Lysa and I will take even more shame. Because I know, that as soon as I leave Riverrun, things will change and they will wish they had killed me 14 days ago.

*knock knock*

"Come in."

I open the door and walk into the solar of Lord Hoster Tully. He is not looking at me and continues to write the letter. A power play on his part, to show me how insignificant I am. He doesn't give me any attention and just does his thing. I don't care about that and instead think about my plans and how easy it is to get rich, now that I have the infinite money glitch. The Iron Bank of Braavos would kiss my feet and eat my shit if they knew what I could do now.

"Do you think you can impress me?", Hoster suddenly says, getting me out of my musings.

"Pardon?"

"Your nonchalant attitude, do you think you can impress me with it and not get punished?", he asks again, this time with venom in his voice.

"No, my Lord. I don't understand what you mean. I know that there will be punishment, so why would I try to impress you?"

"Oh? Arrogant as well. After all of this that you showed, you deserve to be whipped or worse. You have insulted me and House Tully and most importantly you have insulted Catelyn! Had Brandon Stark not done it, I would have surely cut you. Now, do you still think you can be arrogant?!", Hoster looks at me as if he wanted to kill me.

"I don't."

"Exactly. You are nothing. You are only here because your father used to be a friend of mine. I took pity on you and you spit in my face."

"..."

Lord Hoster doesn't say anything and just looks at me for a while. I try to look guilty and embarrassed as best I can, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.

"Get out. Take your things and get out. You will not get a horse and you will also not get an escort. I won't kill you, but that is your punishment. Now, GET OUT!" he shouts, and I nod and leave the room.

How dramatic this was. Thankfully I have some money saved up and if I have a bit of money, it is equivalent to saying that I have infinite money. Right now, I have 13 Silver Stags and 39 Copper Groats. 1 Silver Stag equals 14 Copper Groats so I have roughly 15 Silver Stags. Not a bad start. 1 Gold Dragon equals 210 Silver Stags and that is easily exchanged. I only need one of each coin to create more. How nice to have a cheat like that.

Now it is time to get things started.
