Chapitre 7: Chapter 7: Chance Encounter
Ye Xi looked up, and Shen Yijun's tone shifted, subtly complimenting her beauty indirectly.
Ye Xi was indeed beautiful in a way that was hard to forget at first glance.
Ye Xi took the phone, her drunken eyes bleary, "Thank you…"
She was quite drunk, now seeing double, the man before her had two heads and four hands.
Ye Xi set her phone down on the bar and asked the bartender for another drink.
During her wait, Shen Yijun and Han Chen kept glancing over here restlessly.
Leaning to the side, Shen Yijun said to Han Chen, "Looks like this trip was worth it, we saw a beauty as soon as we came in."
Han Chen smiled, then turned and caught sight of Lu Lingxiao entering from the door.
Lu Lingxiao, in a black suit tailored by hand, captured the attention of all the opposite sex in the bar the moment he pushed the door open.
At 188 cm tall, his legs were eye-catching, and his imposing presence made it hard to look directly at him.
Han Chen waved at him, "Fourth Bro, over here."
Lu Lingxiao walked toward them with quick, unruffled steps.
Just as Ye Xi was handed her cocktail and was about to drink, her phone rang again.
She stared at the screen for a long time before answering.
Jian Nian's voice came through, "Xixi, were you looking for me? I didn't have my phone on me just now..."
Hearing Jian Nian's voice, a wave of sadness struck Ye Xi, and her eyes immediately reddened, "Jian Nian, I'm divorced."
Jian Nian was suddenly silent.
After a moment, he asked, "Xixi, where are you? Are you alone?"
Ye Xi looked around; for a moment, she couldn't remember where she was and just said, "A bar… a bar with lots and lots of people…"
Before she could finish, her phone turned off automatically.
Ye Xi couldn't hear Jian Nian's voice anymore, only then did she bring the screen up to her eyes.
After staring blankly for a while, she tossed her phone aside and reached for her drink.
Lu Lingxiao had just taken a seat next to Han Chen.
His long legs didn't need to lift; even just sitting down and slightly stretching out, they were already noticeable.
He looked around at the noisy environment with a frown, "Why choose such a noisy place?"
Shen Yijun laughed, "The private club wouldn't be too bad either, but it's just not exciting with only a few of us. I'm familiar with this area; this place has the most beauties, don't believe me? Just look..."
Shen Yijun nodded toward Ye Xi's direction, signalling Lu Lingxiao to look there.
As Lu Lingxiao turned his head, Ye Xi happened to be getting up from her booth.
She was so drunk that she almost couldn't stand still, and as she leaned on the bar for support, she felt dizzy. The liquid in her cup spilled out impeccably, soaking Lu Lingxiao's pants completely.
Lu Lingxiao looked down and saw that the wet spot was exactly at his most embarrassing area.
Ye Xi hurried to apologize.
Perhaps her brain didn't kick in right away because as she was apologizing, she pulled out some tissues from the dispenser next to her, knelt down, and began to wipe Lu Lingxiao off, completely forgetting that it was a private area.
Shen Yijun and Han Chen almost couldn't believe their eyes.
It wasn't until Lu Lingxiao's expression grew darker and darker that Ye Xi realized what she was actually doing.
Looking up, she met a pair of murderous eyes.
Ye Xi quickly backed away, but due to her drunken instability, she fell backwards after two steps, landing squarely on the ground.
The scene was awkward beyond measure.
Remembering the strange sensation on her hands, Ye Xi's face burned with embarrassment.
She continued to apologize, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, I just wasn't careful... If it bothers you, I'm willing to compensate you for the dry-cleaning costs."
With that, she reached into her bag and began searching for cash.
Unfortunately, after searching for a while, she realized she didn't have any cash on her.
