Chapitre 5: CHAPTER FIVE: TRAGIC RULES

"Slaughtered," I murmured in fear, staring blankly at the stinky, stinking cruel world.

"But there's nothing to be worried about my lady, you have seen your husband, he can't be defeated," Caspian said, reassuring me with a smile.

"Right? After seeing what I saw about Kethan, I am 100% sure not even a hair on his head can be touched by those little childish annoying brothers, "I thought to myself, watching Kethan with a chuckle.

"It's time to go," Kethan announced.

"Agatha?" He called, stretching his hand to me.

I held his hand promptly and he carried me on the horse, and then the journey back home began.

"Kethan, why is your relationship with your brothers so terrible?" I blurted out, whispering.

"Agatha darling, why are you whispering?" Kethan retorted with a chuckle.

"Because I know you can hear me even though I simply think it. Wait! You called me darling, that's also a first. You have been doing strange things since the beginning of this morning," I responded, still whispering.

"Strange," I added.

"Why? You don't like it?" He asked, suddenly spinning me around to face him on the horse, making my heartbeat.

"Kethan, why did you do that?" I yelled out in a panic.

"I wanted to see your face," he replied softly.

"We are on a horse, Kethan, I could have fallen on this stinky stinking dirty floor," I replied, whispering.

"You can never fall, Agatha, not while I'm with you. And I'm never leaving my wife," Kethan responded.

Our eyes met, gazing at each other with infinite affection, the tangling feeling of a spark of chemistry.

"I know Kethan," I whispered, avoiding his gaze.

"Stop whispering Agatha," Kethan cautioned with a glance.

"Okay," I whispered again, giggling.

"Are you scared?" Kethan suddenly asked out of nowhere.

"Of what?" I hastily asked.

"The king's death," he answered calmly.

"You heard?" I asked, shocked.

"Well, I don't know. I am scared of the fight; I am scared you could lose and be slaughtered by those stinky stinking brothers of yours. And to think that they don't like you, they will kill you without glitching," I softly added.

"Look at me," Kethan commanded.

I slowly raised my head to meet his sharp Piercing gaze, smiling broadly.

"I doubt those stinky, stinking brothers of mine can beat me. I am not leaving your side Agatha; not even them can make that happen," Kethan softly stated. Reaching for my face, he brushed my lips with his fingers, before landing a kiss on them.

"Stinky, stinking," I repeated, laughing.

Kethan sat there ogling at me, I shifted uncomfortably under his severe gaze.

"You should keep laughing,'' he muttered, loud enough for me to hear.

"Hm, we are on a journey, shouldn't you be watching the road?" I asked, faking a cough.

"I am," he replied, refusing to place his eyes off me.

"No, you aren't, you are staring at me. How do you even watch where we are going," I asked, suspiciously.

"I am indeed watching the way, Agatha. You are my circuit," Kethan blunted out, shamelessly.

Ignoring his statement, I placed my head on his chest to cuddle, after Kethan severally stroked my hair, I fell into a deep sleep.

*****************************

(Seven days later)

"Are we there yet?" I asked Kethan, exhausted.

"No," he replied calmly.

"Are we almost there then?" I insisted.

"No," Kethan slowly replied.

"Will we soon be there?" I asked, pouting.

"Agatha, you are asking the same question," Kethan retorted with raised eyebrows.

"Okay… when will we get there?" I argued.

Kethan ignored me and scoffed.

Pissed, I hit my head on his chest repeatedly.

"Agatha stop!" Kethan cautioned

Ignoring his warnings, I continued slamming my head on his chest, until I heard the sound of a trumpet.

I looked back immediately and was confronted with the kingdom; they were welcoming us back from war.

"We are here!" I yelled, excitedly.

Kethan got down from the horse, and I jumped into his arms promptly as he placed me down.

Lunaria, Kethan's mother, and my mother-in-law stood there, smiling broadly to welcome us.

I rushed towards her, flinging my arms over my mother-in-law in happiness.

"I miss you, Mother," I stated, smiling back at her.

Kethan walked into the kingdom coldly, ignoring his mother who stood there smiling at him, hoping to get a response.

"He's kind of tired mama, he didn't rest at all during the whole journey," I butted in, faking a laugh.

"You don't have to lie on his behalf, Agatha," Lunaria replied in between a chuckle.

"I should be used to it by now, he's my son and he has always been like this since the day of his birth. Agatha, I know he's cold towards you, don't worry I believe he will open up soon," Lunaria added, tapping my shoulders to encourage me.

"Hm, he is really really super cold towards me," I thought to myself, still smiling at Lunaria.

I quickly trailed after Kethan who already left for our room, leaving everyone, including me behind.

"Kethan, why are you so cold towards your mother," I asked from behind him, shutting the door.

Ignoring me, Kethan attempted to walk towards the bed when I pulled back.

"Kethan, are you alright?" I couldn't help but ask, studying his suspicious movement.

"Is there something I should know about your family?" I asked, releasing my grip on his arm.

"Go to bed Agatha," Kethan coldly replied, sinking himself on the mattress.

"I am not sleepy, I slept all day," I retorted but clashed with his silence.

"I'll get dinner," I added, walking out of the room, I went directly to the dining hall.

"Oh princess, are you back?" one of his brothers asked over the dining table and scoffed.

"No, can't you see swords and arrows on me, I'm still at war," I thought to myself, pissed at the fact that I was unable to reply to the stinky stinking brother like I wanted, but he was the king's son.

"We started on the wrong foot; I couldn't introduce myself to a beautiful young lady like properly. I am Donovas, the second son of the king, and here beside me is Drystan. My brother and the first son of the king. My mother, Tempestina, the second wife of the king is out on a journey to visit her father's kingdom, you will meet her soon," Donovas introduced with a wink.

"Second wife? Then how's Kethan the last son," I thought to myself, intruding.

"I'll just pick up our dinner and leave. I'm exhausted" I announced, facing Lunaria, my mother-in-law.

"Is he treating you badly?" Drystan, the first son of the king, asked out of nowhere.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

"I appreciate your concern, lord Drystan. but please stop asking such weird questions. It makes me think you are tagging my husband as a bad person, there's nothing wrong about Kethan," I calmly replied, proceeding to walk out of the dining hall.

"Agatha, we need to talk," Lunaria stated, causing me to pause.

"What is it, mother?" I asked, searching her eyes for a clue.

"Come with me," she replied, dragging me out of the dining hall.

We got into her room and she dragged me to sit in a panic.

"Mother, what is it? You look concerned," I blurted out, alarmed.

"I am concerned Agatha, I didn't know how to tell you and Kethan about this when you got back from war," Lunaria blunted out.

"Tell us what?" I questioned, ogling at her.

"The king is seriously sick."
