"Plant-based disease?"
Greg frowned, "The name alone sounds unpleasant."
Officer Michael gave a bitter smile.
"That's because you haven't seen the patients who have fallen ill yet."
"Forget it, in the next few days, you'll have plenty of opportunities to see them."
Officer Michael described the situation.
"Have you ever seen withered tree bark? Right now, those guys look just like that. They return to their normal appearance from sunset to sunrise, and from the outside, they almost look no different than ordinary people."
"During that time, they become quiet, their eyes lose focus, they like to bury themselves in the soil, and they frantically swallow dirt."
"Many of the patients brought to the hospital on the first day choked to death while consuming soil."
Michael was an experienced police officer, but the memories of those scenes still made him shiver involuntarily.
It wasn't the gore and cruelty, but the eeriness that emanated from those patients.
