Entrance Exam 1

"Kyle Kaiser." The announcer said his name, prompting him to walk up onto the stage.

Two months have passed and it was graduation day for Kyle and the rest of his peers. He calmly walked up to the stage and firmly shook the principal's hand before receiving his certificate.

As he walked down the stage, his graduation hat was rattling and almost fell off his head. He quickly grabbed onto it making sure to not make a scene or grab unnecessary attention.

"Don't get too excited." Kyle whispered, as he made his way back to his seat.

Underneath his hat was Claw in it's Pafumon form hiding. It was occasionally lifting up the hat slightly, trying to take a peek at all the things that were happening at the graduation.

The day went on like normal after that. Both Kyle and Claw were actually relaxing throughout the day, playing around, doing whatever they felt like. After all the continuous training they did everyday, they needed a short break. Because the very next day, was the day of the Entrance Exam for U.A. College.

….

It was a short train ride from his house. Kyle was now in front of the renowned U.A building. He could see others his age walking inside, some scared, some excited. This was the first time though, that he'd seen this many digimons around him.

Everyone was walking around with their very own digimon. He noticed that most of them were at In-Training Level like his. Though, there were some who still had theirs stuck in the Fresh Level. Seems they couldn't evolve in time.

Kyle went up to one of them who was sitting on the grass, depressed. "Just tell them to evolve and that should work."

"…Huh really?!" The guy looked up at Kyle.

"Yup. That's how it worked for me."

The guy had his eyes lit up with hope. But as he tried it, saying it with great enthusiasm, his digimon just shrugged at him, basically saying it can't. He quickly turned his head to look back at Kyle, but he was already walking away.

"Weird… Then why did it work for Claw?" Kyle looked up at Claw who was sitting on his head. It doesn't seem to know either.

As they made their way into the building, inside was a large auditorium with most of the seats already filled. There were a few individuals on the stage, with one person in particular with long blonde hair sticking up and sunglasses in front of the mic.

It should be starting in a few minutes. As Kyle went to go find a seat, he noticed that the majority of the people there had their eyes on one particular individual. That person was seated at the very front, with multiple empty seats around him. Out of everyone in the room, he was definitely getting the most attention.

'Is he some kind of big shot?' Kyle wondered.

He had no idea who that was. The guy had both red and white hair split in the middle, and what seems to be a burn mark on his face. But what suddenly caught Kyle's attention were the two digimons beside him.

Not just that, they were both already Rookie level. He had to know. Immediately, he walked over to him, as people started eyeing Kyle too, with a confused look on their faces.

"Yo." Kyle said, before taking a seat right beside the man with the burn scar.

"Hey." The man replied back coldly.

In just a short moment, Kyle had gotten the attention of several people too, just by sitting beside that man. He could feel their eyes on him, and hear small whispers amongst them.

"So, are they both yours?"

"Yes they are."

The guy's responses were quick and dry, clearly not caring much. Kyle didn't mind though. He wasn't trying to make friends, he was just curious. Currently, they both weren't making eye contact, only looking at the stage.

"I didn't know that was possible. Never heard of someone having two digimons."

"That's because I'm the first."

Kyle noticed from the corner of his eye, that the guy's face turned slightly irritated when saying that. 'He dislike being the first? Or maybe…' Kyle wasn't the most social guy, but he was definitely above average when it comes to reading people.

"Being first at something always feel great. Except when you feel that you don't deserve it." Kyle casually spoke before turning his head slightly to look at his reaction.

It looks like his guess was right. The guy's face looked even more irritated, as a frown started forming on him. His eyes clearly seeing flashbacks.

"Yeah, I don't deserve it… But I didn't ask for it either." His voice wasn't as bland as before, he was being genuinely angry at something.

"Well, my name's Kyle Kaiser. Honestly, I don't know much about Digimon at all or even wanted one. Just got this guy two months ago." He says as he looks over at Claw.

The man went to look at Claw too, as it stared back at him. He quickly started gaining back his cool, then finally making eye contact with Kyle.

"Two months and it's already at In-Training level? What score did you get?" The man actually seemed slightly curious.

"My score? Like 50%, but how does that matter?" Kyle responded, tilting his head.

"Huh…? Oh, but what score did you get for your Body stat?" He asked again.

"I got 10/10 for Body. Is that why Claw evolved that fast?"

"Yeah, that makes sense then. I've actually never met anyone else that got a 10/10 in a stat."

"Anyone else..? Does that mean you also got a 10/10 in Body?" Kyle asked, confused.

"Oh. So you actually never heard of me… Sorry. I thought you were another reporter." He seemed more relieved. "And yeah, I have a 10/10 in every stat." The man said calmly.

"Oh.." Kyle didn't know how to feel about what he just said. He had some idea that a 10/10 in every stat is probably very good, although, he still got no idea what those stats do. Was that pretty impressive or insanely impressive? Does he even want to find out?

"That's…impressive? I don't know." Kyle said out loud. The man looked at him, a bit taken back.

He started chuckling softly with a smile on his face. "I've never seen anyone with that lack of a reaction before about my stats."

"I told you. I'm new to this life." Kyle responded while giving a smile, seeing that the man was starting to open up.

"Haha.. Welcome then, Kaiser. My name is Shoto Todoroki by the way." Todoroki looked at Kyle and smiled back.

Kyle still had much more to ask him, such as why he had two digimons and so on. But he was cut short as the mic on stage started to ring as someone began speaking on it.

"Ahem… Ahem… Mic test. Ahem. Hellooo everyone this is Present Mic speaking!! The quick briefing for the Entrance Exam will now begin!"
