Chapitre 144: The Competition Begins

When they arrived at the hall where the competition for Alchemy Initiates was being held, an earnest young woman took down Yu Jinqi's information before guiding him to a simple desk alongside dozens of other Alchemy Initiates. 

Like Yu Jinqi, everyone at the desks displayed the single flame outline of an Alchemy Initiate somewhere on their body, but only a few of the gathered initiates wore them on formal sect robes. Most of the competitors, it appeared, were loose cultivators or people like Yu Jinqi who weren't allowed to represent their sects at events like this one.

"Welcome young Initiates," a dignified voice called from the front of the lecture hall. The woman standing there looked to be in her mid-thirties to forties but given the two flame outlines of an Alchemy Novice she wore on the collar of her robes, it was likely she was considerably older.
