Chapitre 251: [FGO]: END

Ryou's figure silently appeared in the sky, right beneath the Avant Heim.

His figure seemed minuscule compared to the Avant Heim, which had a diameter of over a hundred kilometers and covered the sky like a miniature sun.

However, in the next moment, when Ryou directly placed his palm on the surface of that searing sun, capable of vaporizing steel, a miracle occurred.

The miniature sun began to shrink rapidly, visibly with the naked eye, until it was reduced to the size of an apple.

If not for the golden orb radiating boundless heat floating above Ryou's palm, everything that had just occurred might have seemed like an illusion.

Without waiting for anyone to react, Ryou casually tossed the golden orb back into the sky, allowing it to return the way it came.

After finishing this, Ryou suddenly turned around, clasped his hands behind his back, and murmured.

"Three, two, one... boom!"

As Ryou's countdown ended, a sun rose slowly above his head.

In the next instant, a blinding flash of light bathed the entire world in pure, dazzling white.

Immediately after, a terrifying shockwave, visible to the naked eye, came crashing down from outer space.

From a viewpoint outside the planet, it looked like a massive comet had collided directly with Disboard.

Under the immense pressure of the power-packed shockwave, the planet's originally transparent atmosphere turned a milky white.

A massive storm swept across the entire planet in an instant.

The thick, magic-radiated black clouds that had been covering the planet were completely blown away, and the long-lost sunlight once again blanketed the land.

A beam of sunlight happened to fall upon Ryou.

What had once been a small, insignificant figure in the sky now appeared tall, majestic, and godlike.

Humanity, who had been waiting for the apocalypse, suddenly realized that the crisis had been averted.

Their emotions, like a roller coaster, swung wildly from despair to elation.

When Ryou, with his divine and awe-inspiring presence, appeared before them, every pair of eyes was filled with fiery reverence.

No one knew who started it, but suddenly, someone shouted,

"All hail the God of Death!"

As soon as one person shouted, others quickly joined in, and before long, every human in Fuyuki City was chanting together.

The deafening chants of "All hail the God of Death!" grew in power, like a tidal wave.

"God of Death! All hail! All hail! All hail!!!"

In stark contrast to the jubilant, celebratory Fuyuki City, the floating fortress of Avant Heim was shrouded in gloom.

The Flugel were terrified to discover that their connection with their master, the God of War, had been completely severed.

This outcome could only mean one thing — their ever-invincible master, the undefeated God of War, Artosh, had fallen.

On Avant Heim, small, delicate figures with tiny wings on their backs and halos above their heads sat dejectedly on the ground, their faces filled with confusion and fear.

Their pitiful appearance would make anyone's heartache with affection.

This was the Flugel's passive protection mode triggered by excessive energy depletion.

In a way, this protection mechanism proved to be quite effective.

Instead of killing them, Ryou had Jibril them, while using Soul Gems to brainwash them. As a result, the entire Flugel race was directly conscripted under his command.

Defeating the strongest God of War in a head-on battle elevated Ryou's prestige to its peak.

No race or divine being dared to provoke Ryou or the humans again.

...

With his newfound, unassailable reputation, Ryou headed straight to the world's center — the birthplace of the divine race — the Elven Continent.

Boom!

With a thunderous explosion, the entire planet shook. Countless streaks of starlight erupted from the Elven Continent, spreading across the world.

Amidst the dazzling starlight, a peculiar object slowly emerged from within the planet.

A spiral of blue light ribbons, inscribed with ancient Disboard text, coiled around a crystalline, multi-faceted object that shimmered like a star.

The moment Ryou saw it, he understood.

This... was the Suniaster.

A wish-granting device, more mysterious, more powerful, and nearly omnipotent — far surpassing the Holy Grail of the Type-Moon universe.

Through the Suniaster, the rules of Disboard could be significantly altered.

After obtaining the Suniaster, Ryou wasted no time.

The first rule he modified was the complete eradication of the divine race.

The second rule was that no intelligent race was allowed to engage in total war, nor could they drive another intelligent race to extinction or enslave them.

Apart from that, Ryou did not transform Disboard into a game world. While it might be amusing, he recognized that a world without struggle would stagnate.

The First and Second World Wars had brought tremendous pain to Earth, but it was undeniable that, within just a few short decades, humanity's technology had advanced at rocket speed, producing black tech after black tech.

The struggle is the driving force behind human progress.

This truth applies to all intelligent races, not just humans.

Thus, Ryou allowed for conflict and even small-scale wars.

Moderate conflict maintains a sense of competitiveness, driving the development of the entire world forward instead of letting it stagnate.

This concept was subtly reflected in the original story.

During the Great War, there were large floating warships and technologies akin to nuclear weapons.

But after six thousand years, six whole millennia, Disboard still hadn't launched into space or entered the space age.

Meanwhile, on Earth, one world war was enough to drive humans to space exploration within a century.

If humans had six thousand years, wouldn't they have been shoulder-to-shoulder with the sun by now?

Riku's good intentions were ultimately spoiled by Tet, turning Disboard from one extreme to another.

Even fishermen know that to keep fish alive in a tank, you need to add a few catfish to keep them active.

But Tet, being the God of Games, still had the mind of an eternal child.

Ryou had no intention of making the same mistake.

Transforming the world held no appeal for Ryou.

After all, having once been the master of several worlds, ruling over them was no longer a challenge.

Now, there was only one thing that truly mattered to Ryou.

The Root Gem.

Just as fate had chosen, the final and strongest Root Gem—Void—was hidden within the Suniaster.

Following the unseen guidance, Ryou altered the rules of this world and, without hesitation, shattered the Suniaster, extracting the Void Gem.

The Void, as its name suggested, embodied endless darkness and infinite emptiness.

The Void Gem was a profound, bottomless black.

When Ryou held the pitch-black gem in his hand and put on the apocalypse.

Ding!

A soft yet soul-piercing chime echoed.

The pitch-black gem automatically embedded itself at the very center of Apocalypse, fitting perfectly into the largest slot.

A surge of formless energy suddenly burst from Apocalypse Gauntlet.

The five other Root Gems embedded in different positions on the back of his hand lit up simultaneously.

Grooves resembling circuits extended from the five gems toward the Void Gem. Five streams of light, each a different color, flowed into the Void Gem as if each of the gems were pouring their energy into it.

BOOM!

The pitch-black gem suddenly erupted like the birth of the cosmos or the explosion of worlds.

A dazzling, multicolored brilliance radiated outward.

A surge of unmatched power coursed from the gauntlet into Ryou's body.

At that moment, he felt as if he had become an omniscient, omnipotent god.

All infinite worlds lay within his grasp.

But this wasn't just an illusion.

With a mere snap of his fingers, he could wipe out all life with ease.

The intoxicating allure of such boundless, absolute power was overwhelming.

Even Ryou almost lost himself in it, nearly becoming a slave to its power.

Fortunately, Scathach's Spartan-style training had proven successful.

After traversing countless worlds and enduring battles of blood and iron, his will had been forged like tempered steel.

Breaking free from the temptation of infinite power, his mind sharpened. He noticed something he hadn't before.

What if someone stole this invincible gauntlet from him?

No matter how strong a piece of equipment is, it is still a tool.

To achieve true invincibility, only the self can be relied upon.

Ryou gazed at his right hand, observing the fearsome energy waves emanating from Apocalypse, remaining silent for a long while.

After some time, a bold idea came to him.

And he immediately put it into action.

He thrust his right hand straight into his heart!

Indescribable, soul-rending agony!

The pain was like shoving the sun into his chest cavity.

Merely piercing his chest shouldn't have hurt so much.

In truth, even without the Life Gem, this type of injury was one that Ryou could recover from in an instant.

What truly brought him unbearable pain was the Root Gems now inside his body.

Considering that these ultimate mysteries were born alongside the very fabric of existence, it was clear they weren't something mere mortals could comprehend.

Perhaps infuriated by Ryou's reckless action, the Root Gems went berserk inside his body, releasing wild, uncontrollable energy.

If not for Ryoug's advancement to the rank of True God, he would have been reduced to ashes the moment the gems entered his body.

But even now, his situation wasn't much better.

His powerful body seemed only to prolong his death, forcing him to endure even more suffering.

And then, Ryou exploded.

When the energy of the Root Gems was fully unleashed within him, a blast of destruction swept out.

The world of Disboard, and even the entirety of the multiverse, was reduced to pure Void.

As his consciousness faded, only one thought remained in Ryou's mind.

He pressed the Root Gems firmly into his own body.

The world returned to the Void.

No one knows how much time passed.

From the emptiness, a faint, nearly imperceptible sound echoed.

Thump... Thump... Thump...

A heartbeat?

A heartbeat echoed from the nothingness.

Then, a faint light appeared in the void—small as a spark at first, but it grew into a torch and then into a radiant sun that illuminated the entire void.

At the heart of this brilliance floated a naked Ryou, suspended in silence.

It felt as if he had been sleeping for countless eons or perhaps only a fleeting moment.

Just then, a soft, doting chuckle echoed.

"What a reckless child you are."

"Who's there?!"

Awakened from his slumber, Ryou's eyes snapped open, and he immediately noticed his current predicament.

Before him, a figure with an unparalleled presence slowly emerged from the Void.

"Shishou?!"

Ryou's eyes widened in shock.

The figure before him was undoubtedly Scathach, but something was off.

His expression instantly turned cold.

"No. You're not Shishou. Who are you?"

The woman wore a deep purple evening gown adorned with a black feathered collar, like a night-blooming rose.

Behind her trailed a cape adorned with countless shimmering stars. Upon closer inspection, one would realize these jewels were, in fact, trembling stars.

On her head, she wore a lightweight silver crown encrusted with countless glimmering, unknown gems.

Upon closer inspection, Ryou noticed that each gem was a small world containing innumerable stars.

Her ruby-red lips curled into a subtle smile, exuding an air of profound mystery.

Her crimson eyes glowed like the most precious of rubies, silently gazing at Ryou.

Though her face was identical to Scathach's—down to her figure—her aura was completely different.

Unlike Scathach's tranquil, detached air, this woman exuded nobility and enigma, like a night lotus blooming under the cover of darkness, evoking an irresistible curiosity.

Just a change in temperament was enough to distinguish them as two entirely different people.

"So, who exactly are you?"

Ryou asked again.

The woman, with a sly smile, covered her mouth and giggled.

"It seems you're still not used to my new form~"

Before she finished speaking, a purple flash flickered.

Gone was the noble and mysterious figure.

What stood before him was a familiar figure in a skintight suit, eyes as cold as blood, and with two sharp spears in hand.

"Or… is this form better for you?"

The aura, the fragrance, the tone, everything was familiar.

Yet, for Ryou, it was terrifyingly familiar.

His gaze trembled.

It felt as if the illusion of everything he believed had been shattered.

"There was never a Scathach, was there? All along… it was you."

Though he didn't say it aloud, the realization settled into his heart like an unbearable truth.

It felt as though everything he had ever done had been like a puppet on strings, unaware that every move was controlled.

The woman before him, the one with Scathach's face, was that hand controlling the strings.

Her answer shattered his expectations.

"You're half-right. I am Scathach, but I'm also not Scathach. She willingly fused with me. I am the Queen of the Land of Shadows, Scathach, but I am also the Abyssal Sovereign—Chaos."

With her declaration, the Void trembled.

Her name alone was enough to make the world quake.

Although it was hard to accept, it was the truth.

Even the system he had relied on as his golden finger was a fabrication of Chaos.

Everything had been a lie.

Even his so-called final boss, the Abyss, was false.

But Chaos's reasons for doing this left him bewildered.

"Why me?" he asked, his voice calm yet firm.

Her answer?

"To create my ultimate rival—Order."

Her gaze was unyielding as if to say, "I forged you, and you forged me."

For the first time, Ryou smiled—an earnest, liberated smile.

"So, there was never a system to begin with?"

Chaos nodded lightly.

"And no such thing as Chaldea?"

Another nod.

"Then the Heroic Spirits I summoned, and the time I spent with them, were all fake too?"

This time, she shook her head.

"Those were real. They were born from your memories. After all, if a game only had two players, it would get boring pretty fast."

"..."

Despite everything, Ryou felt a little relieved.

As long as the other people weren't just Chaos in disguise, he had a chance to restore them.

This wasn't just wishful thinking — it was an achievable goal.

Because now, the Root Stones had fused completely with him, and he had been reborn.

The power he now wielded far surpassed his previous self, reaching an immeasurable realm.

The only true benchmark for his current strength was the being standing before him, the very being who had shaped him from the shadows — Chaos.

Though he might lack her experience, their power now existed on the same level.

This realization eased Ryou's frustrations somewhat, but one question still burned in his mind.

So he asked it directly.

"Why me?"

Ryou's question held two meanings.

One was asking why Chaos had chosen him, and the other was asking why she had helped him in the first place.

Or, perhaps, it was a question about both.

After all, the system he had relied on as his biggest cheat turned out to be a fabrication of Chaos.

Naturally, the enemy that the system had declared to be the Abyss — and Chaos as well — had also been fabrications.

The only thing Ryou couldn't understand was why she had both aided him and framed him as her enemy.

Perhaps because they had been together for so long, Chaos immediately understood his implied meaning. She began to explain.

"It wasn't I who chose you. This was all destiny's choice. If I had to put it in your terms, I suppose you could call it... Fate.

As for why I helped you — it's because I wanted to personally nurture you into my greatest nemesis: Order."

Her answer caught Ryou completely off guard.

The first half was still acceptable, but the second half was completely illogical.

Deliberately nurturing your nemesis?

Do all big shots just act this recklessly? Are they so confident that everything is under their control?

Sensing Ryou's thoughts, Chaos spoke with cold indifference.

"It seems you've misunderstood something. My nemesis may be Order, but that doesn't mean that only one of us can survive.

Just as there is no light without darkness, so too are Chaos and Order inseparable. Without Order, even I, along with the multiverse, would gradually decay. The reverse is also true.

We are two halves of a whole, necessary for the balance of all things.

That is why I spared no effort in nurturing you to become Order.

By elevating you, I elevate myself.

So you needn't feel any gratitude or guilt.

Everything I've done was for my own sake."

But Ryou suddenly laughed.

"Truly selfish people never call themselves selfish. People who say things like that usually think the opposite deep down.

Besides, selfish or not, it doesn't matter to me. You're the one who took me, a useless shut-in and turned me into one of the strongest beings in the multiverse, capable of controlling my destiny.

For that, I owe you a debt of gratitude.

And the only way I can repay it... is with my entire life."

Faced with Ryou's seriousness, Chaos's cold mask seemed to crack a little.

It took her a moment to respond, and when she did, her tone was a bit awkward.

"... I thought you'd hate me for sure."

Her words made Ryou feel a little embarrassed. Images of his first encounter with her flashed in his mind.

Back then, he had been nothing but a naive, cringy, self-important kid.

Ugh... a walking, talking chūnibyō mess.

His black history is in its purest form.

To hide his embarrassment, Ryou coughed twice, clearing his throat.

"Ahem, ahem!

Well, I think you've misunderstood me too. After everything I've been through, I've grown a little.

That's only natural, right?"

When he finished speaking, the two exchanged a glance — and, as if sharing an unspoken understanding, they both smiled.

...

Under Chaos's guidance, Ryou successfully rewound the timeline of the entire multiverse.

Everything was restored to its original state.

No one knew what had happened, except for him and Chaos.

Ryou also fulfilled a promise he had made: he created a human body for Shuvi and hosted a grand wedding for Riku and Shuvi. He even placed the crown of human sovereignty upon their heads.

Ryou believed that, under the leadership of this couple, humanity would continue to grow and prosper.

As for the Flügel race, to prevent them from committing suicide, he was forced to erase the influence that Artosh had placed on them, reprogramming them to serve him instead.

However, before he left, there was a small incident.

One of the Flügel, a certain love-obsessed girl, clung to his leg and refused to let go. She even spouted all sorts of ambiguous, suggestive words, making the onlookers believe he was a heartless scumbag abandoning his lover.

Feeling utterly defeated, Ryou wiped their memories and took Jibril with him.

That event taught him an important lesson,

The strongest power in the world still doesn't count as invincible.

But never letting your guard down — that is the true path to being invincible.

...

Ten years later, Chaldea.

Chaldea was no longer the sterile, sci-fi laboratory it had once been.

Through a complete overhaul, Chaldea had been transformed into a dreamlike fairy-tale castle.

A crystal-carved fountain stood at its center, with a small rainbow arcing gracefully over it.

Floating white clouds dotted the sky, upon which small, exquisitely designed houses had been built.

The entire place exuded an enchanting, storybook-like atmosphere.

From time to time, vibrant, strangely-shaped fish darted through the sea of clouds.

In the courtyard, amidst a variety of rare, exotic flowers and plants, were lifelike replicas made entirely of various kinds of desserts.

Even the central pavilion in the courtyard was unique — its outer walls were coated with white chocolate, while its main structure was made of cookies.

Inside the pavilion, a silver-haired, golden-eyed little girl was engrossed in a book.

Suddenly, a small hand reached out and snatched the book away.

The silver-haired girl let out a sigh.

"Stop messing around, Jean."

The culprit was another girl with a similar appearance but with brilliant blonde hair and blue-gray eyes.

"What's so fun about reading? Come play with me, Joan!"

Her big, lively eyes darted around mischievously as if she were plotting something.

"No, reading is more interesting," Joan replied firmly.

"Eh~~! Joan, you're so mean! Play with me~ Just for a little while, pleeease!"

With that, Joan was pulled into a whirlwind of pleading. Joan tried to resist, but Jean's hand was being shaken back and forth, making it impossible to concentrate on her book.

At that moment, a gentle but firm voice rang out.

"Jean! Stop being naughty!"

The instant she heard that voice, the blonde-haired little girl shrank back, her face showing a trace of fear.

At the same time, another voice—familiar yet laced with rebellion and defiance—chimed in from the side.

"What's the big deal? Kids are supposed to be lively! Unlike our little Joann here, who's always acting like an old man in a child's body."

Two figures, one white and one black, approached together.

The woman in white was dressed in a pure white dress. Her appearance hadn't changed much from ten years ago, with not a single sign of aging. The only thing that had shifted was her demeanor.

If, in the past, her aura was that of a holy maiden with a touch of innocence, she now radiated the gentle warmth of a mother, exuding a maternal glow that soothed all who came near.

The woman walking beside her, in stark contrast, had a mischievous smirk on her face. Her eyes held a playful glint, and her demeanor was as rebellious and prideful as ever.

"You naughty girl!"

As soon as she spotted the woman in black, the golden-haired little girl's eyes lit up. She rushed forward and threw herself into her embrace, hugging her tightly.

The woman in white watched the scene unfold with a look of exasperation and affection.

"Honestly, I have no idea who this child takes after."

"Who cares? She's his daughter, and that's all that matters," the black-clad woman said nonchalantly.

Not far from them, in the courtyard, there was an English-style round table adorned with a large, multi-tiered dessert stand. Each tier was filled with exquisitely crafted, adorable-looking sweets.

A few little girls sat around the table, each with a cup of fragrant tea in front of them.

It seemed a small tea party was underway.

Two girls appeared to be the center of attention.

One of them was a blonde-haired, emerald-eyed girl with an iconic ahoge atop her head. She sipped her tea with elegance and composure.

Across from her sat another blonde-haired girl with fiery red eyes. Her expression was one of discontent, and she kept grumbling toward the former.

A silver-haired girl with elf-like pointed ears sat nearby, quietly trying to mediate the situation.

Meanwhile, a purple-haired, pointy-eared girl had a look of helpless resignation on her face.

A girl with cat-like ears was grabbing desserts with her bare hands, stuffing them into her mouth with unbridled enthusiasm.

Another blonde-haired girl, who had a calm and collected expression, nibbled on sweets while quietly observing the bickering on the opposite side of the table.

Further in the distance, on a beach of silver sand and crystal-clear blue waters, dozens of ship girls in colorful swimsuits were playing, laughing, and having fun. Each was enjoying their leisure time in her unique way.

Today, as always, Chaldea was peaceful.

Overlooking this serene and harmonious scene from the top of a hill, Ryou gazed down with a gentle smile.

"So this is where you were."

Scathach—still as stunningly beautiful as ever—appeared by his side.

They glanced at each other and smiled.

A pair of hands reached out and interlocked their fingers, intertwining their fates.

In that moment, they were one.

And that moment became eternal.
