The room fell into a grave silence upon receiving the sudden news.
Lucien coughed up a mouthful of blood, grabbing onto Ella's clothes. Surprisingly, he was still alive, but what followed was even more astonishing or rather terrifying.
"So it was you," he forced the words out.
Dan and Cornelius turned their heads simultaneously, looking at Ella and Lucien. She buried a small table knife into Lucien's neck, taking his life. "When you get to the other side, help me greet Mum," she whispered, loud enough for everyone in the hall to hear.
"Ella…?" Dan called out, unable to speak any further. He knew within himself but tried as hard as possible to doubt it.
Ella dropped Lucien's body to the side and got to her feet. "Sixtus did a nice job. I knew I could always count on him."
"Ella…what is going on?" Dan finally spoke.
"Hmm, I don't understand what you mean."
"You just…you just killed your father."
"He would have died regardless. I just eased his suffering." Ella glanced at the lifeless body.
"T-Then about the nine chiefs, did you…" Dan expected an immediate answer but got no reply. "Answer me, damn it!"
"They were necessary sacrifices for the new world, Dan."
"You killed those innocent people–"
"Innocent..?" She cut him short. "You call those power-hungry devils innocent?" Ella pointed at Lucien. "This thing over here killed his father, his brother, and his wife…why? Because he saw them as nuisances."
"But…" Dan tried to speak but had nothing to say he knew Ella was right.
"There is a lot you don't know, Dan. No matter what, sacrifices are necessary and inevitable," Ella concluded.
"So after this, what is your plan?" Dan asked submissively.
"First off, together we shall remove the present system and bring in a new one and that has already started with the death of all eight chiefs then–"
"Together? I can't work with someone who kills mindlessly. You are no different from the rest," Dan said.
"I understand your pain, but unfortunately, you have no other choice but to help me," Ella calmly said.
Cautious and feeling uneasy, Dan turned his head towards Cornelius. "Get Naya and the amulet ready. We are leaving here."
"Hmph, you this…" Ella removed the amulet from her clothes.
"How did you get that?" Cornelius stared in disbelief.
"I have to say you did well to hide this from me, Cornelius. But unfortunately…" She looked at Dan with a manic smile. "...you have a naive kid as your partner who only believes in his punches to get him through any obstacle."
Holding the amulet tightly, Ella began, "Now, Dan, let's check if punches can get you out of this one."
The sinister energy dwelling within the amulet began to go haywire, violently seeping out and becoming visible even to normal eyes. A colorful hue of black and red escaped the amulet and began entering into Ella through her mouth.
"It is over," Cornelius fell to his knees.
Dan stared in bewilderment before coming to his senses. He turned towards Cornelius, who had already accepted his fate. "Hey! Get a hold of yourself," he barked, but Cornelius paid no heed.
Realizing he couldn't get Cornelius standing, Dan left him and focused on what was happening in front of him. The sight was one he had never seen before.
Ella's hair morphed, changing color from blonde to grey. Her skin also changed, becoming pale, and her muscles stood out. She ripped her dress for easier movement.
"Say…how do you like my new look?" Ella asked.
Dan got into his fighting stance and whispered to Cornelius, "I'm going to keep her busy, so please get Naya to a safe place." Dan rushed at Ella, throwing a punch at her face.
Ella casually stopped the punch and glanced at Dan. "Nice try." Cautiously, he stepped back, jumped into the air, performing a double spin, and launched a heavy kick at her face. Yet again, she stopped it. Ella relaxed back and punched Dan in the gut, sending him flying, breaking the walls, and rolling roughly on the ground before coming to a stop.
"Cough…cough," Dan clutched his stomach. He managed to pull himself up, watching as Ella walked up to him.
"Oh? You managed to stand after that," Ella said, gradually closing the gap between them.
Dan mustered his strength and staggered to his feet, but he wasn't balanced and staggered multiple times while on his feet.
"Haha," Ella laughed. She rushed at Dan, landing two clean blows on his face. He rolled on the floor and gradually stopped as the momentum died.
She was not physically strong, yet she had the upper hand. Dan's face clearly showed his confusion.
"The dark amulet…everyone knows it, but only a few are aware of its properties," Ella casually walked towards Dan.
"Nnh.!"
Dan groaned in pain.
"The amulet was created millennia ago. It was made for the sole purpose of ruling this world, and its power is the only weakness the seven possess."
"No wonder I feel drained," Dan pulled himself up, trying to focus his gaze on Ella.

In a vast green land with various trees, both small and towering, different species of beasts whizzed through the air, swam in crystal-clear waters, and walked upon the earth. Buildings with eye-catching architectural designs rested atop floating clouds. This was none other than the mythical land, Eden.
A lady with long dark blue hair and purple eyes was seated with her legs crossed. Placed on a round table in front of her was a cup of tea and various cakes.
Sip
"You felt that, didn't you?" a voice echoed.
"Yeah, I did," she put down the cup.
"Then get that taken care of," the voice concluded.
The room went quiet before she spoke again. "Zadkiel…Ruguel!"
"Yes, my lady," two voices echoed in response.
"You know what to do… get the one that possesses the divine relic and those who came in contact with it all shall be assembled in the trial hall. You have ten minutes" she commanded.
"Yes, my lady."
Once again, the lady continued sipping her tea and nibbling her cake.
