Chapitre 4: Freedom!!!

[Time Skip: Five years]

|| Moyong Family Main Palace Courtyard ||

"My lady, there was no one in the young master's room, but instead, this is what I found."

The young woman who was part of the Shadow Guards Faction handed a letter to a very beautiful and elegant lady who was basking in the sun in the courtyard amidst the flowers.

The Shadow Guards Faction was one of the factions similar to the Invincible Renowned Swordsmen, whose sole purpose was to serve their respective lord or lady and follow their orders even if it killed them.

The beautiful lady was Dojin's mother, Moyong Eun Ae, the only wife of Moyong Yul-Cheon who survived childbirth. If there was someone who loved Dojin the most in this world, it would undoubtedly be Moyong Eun Ae.

Despite the grim certainty of her impending death at the time of her Dojin's Birth, something miraculous happened when she held her baby in her arms. A mysterious energy surged through her, restoring her vitality and strength. This miraculous resurgence allowed her to watch her beloved Dojin grow into a strong and wonderful boy. Whenever she saw her beloved boy, it filled her heart with a profound and unparalleled love.

Eun Ae slowly opened the letter in her hands and started reading.

[

Dear Most Beautiful and Loving Mother in this world,

I was getting bored seeing the same walls and faces every day in the clan. That's why I am going outside to explore the world to find where my martial way leads me and bring glory to your already glorious name.

Adios~

.

.

Wait, there is more. Don't tell Hyun that I fle— Ahem, went outside to gain enlightenment. Just tell her that Father sent me on an important mission.

Now Adios~

.

.

Wait, wait. Okay, this is the last time.

Mother..., if anything happens or you are in danger, just call my name and I will be there, shielding you from all the worries and troubles in the world. You know I am already 'The Strongest,' right? So don't you dare hesitate to call my name okay?

Now finally, Adios~

Your Beloved Son,

The Enlightened One

]

A tear dropped onto the letter. "Yeah, I know my dear child, but even then, how can Mother not worry when her child is not in front of her eyes? So please be safe, my Dojin," Eun Ae said while caressing the letter gently.

After some time Eun asked, still gazing at the letter written by her beloved son,

"How many Shadows are following him?"

"..."

"Hmm?" Eun Ae looked up from the letter and focused on the silent shadow kneeling beside her, who started to tremble under her gaze.

Eun Ae's aura steadily began to rise as flowers in the courtyard started to sway without wind.

"There are shadows following him, right?"

The shadow's trembling intensified as the ground under her feet started to crack under the pressure of Eun Ae's steadily rising aura.

"W- we couldn't f-find hi—"

Boom!

Splat!

Eun Ae's aura exploded, crushing the shadow to a meat paste and destroying the whole courtyard.

In a grandiose hall with towering black pillars, each coiled around by a golden eastern dragon statue, and amidst it all, behind huge silver curtains, sat a figure lazily smoking with a long pipe. He was Moyong Yul-Cheon.

"Master, the young master has gone outside of the clan."

"Oh!"

There was a slight silence after that, and then the figure wrapped in a black robe continued.

"My lady has already killed more than ten shadow guards who were responsible for guarding the young master."

"Let her vent her anger. She will calm down after a day or two. Just tell her that her son is safe and where he is."

There was silence in the hall, but this silence seemed deafening.

"So, you don't know where he is."

There was no change in Yul-Cheon's tone or even in his aura, but even then, the figure felt as if the whole world was pressing down on his shoulders.

The figure mustered up the courage and said, "We couldn't follow him, master. He just vanished into thin air."

"Hehe, he has gotten quite strong, hasn't he, in such a short amount of time? Then give me some entertainment to relieve my boredom, my cute little child."

"Hey Mom! Finally, FREEDOM!" Dojin, who already looked like a young adult Buddha, screamed as he stood on a cliff overlooking a bustling town with a considerably large population.

{So now that you are free, what do you want to do, Dojin?}

"I haven't decided yet, but we will just go with the flo-"

Dojin stopped mid-sentence, looked in a certain direction, and vanished in a flash.

...

Dojin appeared outside a small village that was now in ruins. Numerous dead bodies were scattered around the perimeter, but there was one thing in common among them. all the bodies were male, and women of considerable age; there was not a single body of a young woman among them.

Dojin walked through the village, looking at his surroundings. This was the first time he had seen such brutality, as he had come from the modern age. But even so, he didn't feel anything; he just looked at it and walked on.

After some time, he came upon a cave entrance. Inside the cave was a pedestal, on which sat a black rock emitting a faint aura.

Dojin just glanced at it and looked deeper inside the cave, where the scent he had picked up was the strongest—the scent of blood.

When he came inside the cave, after passing the pedestal, he saw a scene that seemed straight out of a horror movie. Numerous women's and girls' bodies were scattered around a large hole that was big enough to hold an elephant. All the girls' wrists and necks were slashed, and the blood that was flowing from their bodies was being collected in the hole. In that pool of blood sat a man, bathing in their blood.

Dojin felt his heart tighten at the sight. This was no ordinary atrocity; it was pure evil.

"What are you doing?" Dojin's voice echoed in the cave, calm but laced with a dangerous edge.

The man in the pool slowly turned his head, a sick grin spreading across his face. "Ah, another one. You came just in time. I was beginning to run low on sacrifices."

Dojin's eyes narrowed, his aura flaring up. "Sacrifices for what?"

"For power," the man hissed, standing up. His body was covered in symbols that glowed with a Blood red light. "The blood of the innocent is a small price to pay for the strength to rule this world."

Dojin felt a surge of anger. "You've lost your humanity."

"Humanity is a weakness," the man sneered. "Only the strong survive."

"Then I will show you the true strength of humanity." Dojin's voice was as cold as ice. He summoned the Ruyi Jingu Bang, his golden staff appearing in his hand.

The man's grin faltered. "Who... who are you?"

"I am the Enlightened One," Dojin said, his voice resonating with power.

With that, Dojin lunged forward, his staff blazing with a brilliant light. The cave was filled with the sound of their clash.

The man, now revealed as a demonic practitioner, raised his hand, and a wave of blood surged toward Dojin. Dojin's golden staff met the wave head-on, cutting through the blood like a hot knife through butter. The practitioner's eyes widened in surprise as Dojin advanced, his movements swift and precise.

"You think you can stop me?" the practitioner growled, summoning blood tendrils from the pool. They lashed out at Dojin, but he deftly dodged, his staff spinning in a blur of motion. With each strike, Dojin shattered the tendrils, his power growing with every movement.

Dojin leaped into the air, bringing his staff down with a force that shook the cave. The practitioner barely managed to dodge, the impact of Dojin's blow sending shockwaves through the ground. The practitioner retaliated by hurling blood fireballs, but Dojin spun his staff, creating a shield of light that absorbed the flames.

"You're strong," the Demonic practitioner admitted, panting slightly. "But I have the power of blood on my side!"

He plunged his hands into the pool of blood, drawing out more energy. His body began to morph, growing larger and more monstrous. Dojin watched, his expression calm but focused.

"You rely on the suffering of others for your power," Dojin said. "That is your greatest weakness."

With a roar, the transformed Demonic practitioner charged at Dojin, his claws slashing through the air. Dojin met him head-on, their clash creating sparks of energy. The practitioner's strength had increased, but Dojin's skill and precision remained unmatched. He parried each blow with ease, his movements fluid and controlled.

"You have lived long enough," Dojin said, his voice ringing with authority.

[Buddha's Divine Realms: First Realm]

[Heaven's Thrust]

He thrust his staff forward, and a beam of pure light shot out, piercing the Demonic practitioner's chest. The Demonic practitioner screamed, his body convulsing as the light consumed him.

"No... this can't be..." the practitioner gasped, his form disintegrating. "I... am... invincible..."

"Your invincibility was a lie," Dojin replied. "True strength comes from within, not from the suffering of others."

With a final scream, the practitioner vanished, leaving only a faint echo in the cave. The blood energy dissipated, and the cave was filled with a serene light. Dojin stood in the center, his staff glowing softly.

"Mom," Dojin said softly, his voice filled with both relief and sorrow.

{You did well, my son,} Lady Death's voice echoed in his mind, warm and comforting.

Dojin nodded, looking around at the fallen bodies.

{There is still someone alive look at the woman on your left she is wearing a ceremonial dress}

Dojin instantly appeared beside the woman and gently placed his hand on her chest his hand started to glow in a faint golden aura and the woman's injuries started to heal visible to the naked eye then they closed up without leaving any scars behind. after some time the woman's eyes fluttered open and the first thing that she looked after opening her eyes Dojin smiled gently at her with a Golden halo behind his head.

"Are you... a God?" the woman whispered, her voice weak but filled with awe.

Dojin chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No, I am just a traveler. Rest now; you are safe."

The woman's eyes filled with tears as she reached out to touch Dojin's face, her hand trembling. "Thank you," she whispered before exhaustion overtook her, and she fell into a deep, healing sleep.
