Chapitre 66: A mistake

Patrick attempted to grab Phina as she leaped from the island quickly to avoid tripping on the broken plates scattered across the floor.

With a silent thank you, she removed her hand from his. As she hurriedly attempted to straighten her garment, Sara showed up at the door. She held a polythene bag that contained something they could not see.

Sara appeared taken aback by what she saw. It surprised her to see her boss in the kitchen. Her gaze shifted from him to Phina, then to the shattered plates strewn all over the floor. Then, the haphazardly placed first aid box was on the kitchen island. Something in the air felt familiar to her. She noticed that Phina was averting her gaze and was a little flushed. She is clueless as to why. She looked at her boss, who was staring at her indifferently.

"I'm sorry for..."

Patrick abruptly stopped her. "What is it?"

She said, "Your mom is here."
