"Welcome to LeTV Sports! Su Luo's Premier League debut is about to begin!"
The familiar voice of commentator Zhan Jun filled the airwaves, with his longtime partner Zhang Luzhang by his side.
"Let's first take a look at West Ham's starting lineup," Zhan Jun began.
"Their goalkeeper is Adrian; the back line features Antonio, Reid, Collins, and Masuaku. In midfield, they have Nordtveit, Noble, Kouyaté, Enner Valencia, and André Ayew. And up front, leading the attack, is former Liverpool player Andy Carroll."
Zhan Jun sounded confident as he continued, "Aside from André Ayew, West Ham doesn't pose much of a threat. Andy Carroll isn't the dominant striker he once was, but Chelsea can't afford to be careless. Last season, West Ham played the role of giant killers, taking down stronger teams. Underestimating them would be a huge mistake, and I'm sure Conte knows better."
He then turned his attention to Chelsea's lineup.
"Chelsea's summer transfer king, Su Luo, unsurprisingly starts today. New coach Antonio Conte is using a 4-2-3-1 formation, though we can expect some changes during the match. The goalkeeper is Courtois. The defense consists of Ivanovic, David Luiz, Rudiger, and Azpilicueta. In the defensive midfield, we have Kante and Matic. Hazard takes the left wing, Willian the right, with Su Luo playing as the central attacking midfielder or second striker. Leading the line is Lukaku."
"With the additions of Su Luo and Lukaku, Chelsea's offensive options are much more varied this season. And with a player like Hazard on the wing, Su Luo will have plenty of opportunities to shine. But whether he can fully integrate into the team depends on his performance today... And there we go! Hazard just attempted a long shot from the left, marking the first shot of the game, though it was off target."
As Zhan Jun introduced the starting lineup, Chelsea quickly seized possession from West Ham and launched a counterattack.
Kante intercepted the ball and immediately passed it to Su Luo. According to Conte's tactics, Su Luo was the focal point of Chelsea's attack. Whenever the team had possession, the ball was to be given to Su Luo first, leaving it to him to decide whether to break through, pass, or take a long shot.
For players like Lukaku and Willian, this was normal; after all, a player of Su Luo's caliber deserved some privileges. Just look at Ronaldo's status at Real Madrid or Messi's at Barcelona. However, Belgian star Eden Hazard wasn't as convinced. He had seen himself as Chelsea's main man, especially after Diego Costa left, and expected to be the team's primary offensive weapon. But then Su Luo arrived with a record-breaking transfer fee, and Hazard felt sidelined.
It was like excelling in your job, awaiting a promotion and a raise, only to have a younger, more talented colleague parachuted in to take the spotlight. Hazard felt uneasy, though he wasn't foolish enough to openly challenge the new star, especially one handpicked by Abramovich. During training, Su Luo's skills had impressed Hazard, but in a real match, Hazard wanted to prove himself. He believed that if he could score more goals or create more chances than Su Luo, he could cement his place among the world's elite.
With this in mind, just two minutes into the game, Su Luo passed the ball to the left, expecting Hazard to cross it to Lukaku, who could use his physicality to either score or set up a teammate. Instead, Hazard fired a wild shot that flew over the bar, wasting the opportunity.
Hazard usually preferred to pass, but Su Luo's arrival made him more eager to take matters into his own hands. Despite the wasted chance, Su Luo said nothing and quietly returned to his defensive position.
Chinese fans watching the game on TV weren't used to seeing Su Luo in a blue No. 7 jersey. Hazard had previously worn the No. 10 shirt, but Su Luo hadn't tried to claim it, opting instead for No. 7. Chelsea's No. 7 jersey didn't have much of a legacy—before Shevchenko and later Ramires, no one had truly made it iconic. But with Su Luo now wearing it, Chelsea fans hoped they had found their new legend.
The game continued with West Ham naturally employing a defensive counterattacking strategy, retreating deep into their half. If they could hold out for the first 30 minutes, they planned to exploit Chelsea's fatigue and launch a surprise attack.
Conte had anticipated this, so he gave Su Luo three main tasks: find ways to break through, take long shots, and deliver crosses or high balls. Su Luo was in complete control of the team's offensive rhythm.
Chelsea pressed high in the attack, and Su Luo, moving at a calculated pace, used quick passing to direct the play. This time, he advanced down the right, skillfully dribbling past West Ham's midfielders before passing to Willian. Willian took the ball to the byline but, finding no clear path to cross, passed back to Su Luo. Su Luo quickly passed it to Matic, who attempted a through ball, but it seemed too long and likely to be cleared by West Ham's defense.
But Su Luo suddenly accelerated, using his long legs to hook the ball, and with a deft turn, performed a Marseille Roulette to spin past Reid!
"Su Luo! Incredible! He's into the box!"
West Ham's defense was caught off guard by Su Luo's skillful play. Their other center-back, Collins, rushed in to tackle, but Su Luo easily sidestepped him and unleashed a powerful shot at the goalkeeper!
Even without any special abilities, Su Luo's shooting accuracy was top-notch. Missing from close range was nearly impossible for him. And to ensure the shot's success, he activated Haaland's ability, increasing the shot's speed.
West Ham's goalkeeper Adrian didn't even attempt a save; he could only turn and watch as the ball smashed into the back of the net.
"Goal!! Su Luo!"
"Only five minutes into the game, and Su Luo has scored in his Premier League debut!"
"Whether it's the intricate passing on the right or the dribbling display we just saw, Su Luo is showcasing his full range of skills!"
"No matter how strong West Ham's defense is, they can't withstand Su Luo's brilliance!"
"Chelsea leads 1-0!"
As Su Luo celebrated, more than 40,000 Blues fans at Stamford Bridge erupted in applause. They hadn't yet created a chant for him, so they simply showered him with overwhelming applause.
Since the news of the Chinese star joining Chelsea broke, the media had been questioning the move. Many fans began to worry that Abramovich had made another expensive mistake. But with just one goal, Su Luo silenced the doubters.
The €155 million was proving to be money well spent.
Although the game had only just begun, Su Luo's performance in the first five minutes had everyone ecstatic. This new season of Chelsea might truly be something special!
As the Chelsea players celebrated, Hazard stood awkwardly to the side. He had tried to prove himself with that earlier shot, only to send it flying over the bar. Meanwhile, Su Luo had scored effortlessly. Matic's pass had seemed like a lost cause, but Su Luo's boldness turned it into a goal-scoring opportunity.
"Is he really that good?" Hazard thought, determined to keep an eye on Su Luo.
On the other side, West Ham's coach Bilic was fuming. His plan to hold off Chelsea for at least 30 minutes had fallen apart in just five. Despite deploying two defensive midfielders to contain Su Luo, the Chinese star had still managed to break free and score.
"Damn it!" Bilic cursed as he quickly issued new instructions from the sidelines. "Get physical! Don't give him any space!"
Soon after, Su Luo was dribbling through midfield when he was abruptly knocked down by West Ham's midfielder Nordtveit. The challenge looked more like a rugby tackle, but the referee only awarded a foul, without even a warning. Moments later, Su Luo received the ball again in the final third and was immediately tackled by West Ham's full-back Antonio. Although Antonio's challenge seemed dangerous, the referee didn't blow the whistle, as he had gotten a touch on the ball.
In just one minute, Su Luo was fouled twice in quick succession. It was clear that West Ham was resorting to rough tactics to stop him.
The media reporters were thrilled to witness what was unfolding on the pitch.
"Did you see that, Su Luo? Welcome to the Premier League!"
"The Premier League isn't as easy as you thought!"
"This is going to be a good show!"
Even Zhan Jun, the commentator, couldn't help but worry about Su Luo's condition.
"Being knocked down again by a fierce tackle, Su Luo might really need to get used to the physicality of the Premier League."
"That last challenge would definitely have been a foul in the Bundesliga. Maybe even a yellow card."
A nearby teammate, Azpilicueta, rushed over and helped Su Luo to his feet.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. It's nothing serious," Su Luo responded with a light smile.
"This isn't the Bundesliga, so watch out for their tackles."
"Got it."
In the past, Su Luo might have struggled against such brutal fouls, but now, he had discovered a new way to harness the skills of Ronaldinho.
Ronaldinho was the only hero with both active and passive abilities. Both forms of enhancement focused on intensifying ball control. The active ability heightened his touch, almost to the point where the football felt like an extension of his body. The passive ability accelerated the growth of his ball skills, giving him an exceptional feel for the ball during matches.
This combination had elevated Su Luo's technique, pushing his previous skill level of 85 to nearly 90.
But it didn't end there.
During a pre-season warm-up match, Su Luo accidentally activated Ronaldinho's active skill for an instant before turning it off just as quickly. The result was astonishing.
Time and space seemed to freeze for a brief moment, and everything around him moved in slow motion. Though it only lasted for 0.5 seconds, it was enough time for Su Luo to react swiftly.
He hadn't thought of using this technique before, but the foul just now sparked the idea.
As Chelsea continued to push forward with possession, the ball found its way to Su Luo again.
West Ham's midfielders, Nordtveit and Noble, charged at him from two different directions—a brutal sprint and a flying tackle aimed straight at his legs! They clearly had no intention of letting him escape unscathed.
Faced with such a rough challenge, even Chelsea fans couldn't bear to watch. The sky-high €155 million signing could very well end up spending half the season in the hospital.
"Danger!" Chelsea teammates shouted warnings, but it was too late.
Just when everyone feared for Su Luo's safety, he was already prepared.
With Modric's passive vision ability, Su Luo had spotted the two players' movements long before they reached him. As they lunged, he activated and deactivated Ronaldinho's skill to its fullest extent.
In an instant, the two defenders seemed to move in slow motion. Su Luo calmly lifted his feet and sidestepped them with ease.
In a flash, Su Luo had safely escaped the danger.
To the onlookers, it seemed as though Su Luo was lightly skipping around their rough tackles, barely avoiding disaster.
The worried murmurs in the stands of Stamford Bridge quickly turned into cheers!
"Su Luo dodges their fierce interception! Now, with no one marking him outside the box, he's got a clear shot!"
Zhan Jun's voice brimmed with excitement. Su Luo stood unmarked, 30 meters from the goal. The outcome seemed inevitable.
Sure enough, Su Luo didn't hesitate.
Even if the shot didn't go in, stacking another buff wouldn't be a loss.
But there was no need to stack any buffs.
His shot was flat and fast, the signature Su Luo strike, rocketing into the top corner with pinpoint accuracy!
Goalkeeper Adrian reacted, but it was too late.
"Unbelievable!! Su Luo scores his second with another incredible shot!"
"Two goals in his Premier League debut!"
"Who dares to say he's not suited for the Premier League now?"
Zhan Jun roared with passion as the crowd erupted. Seeing Su Luo's performance, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
This was the rhythm of Su Luo!
With less than 10 minutes left in the first half, Su Luo had already scored twice.
How many more would he add? The Hammers of West Ham could only tremble at the thought.
