Chapitre 176: Wanting Power

Silas Campbell was sitting with a mature woman of great beauty. She was relaxed in a luscious chair and holding a glass of whiskey in her hand. She swirled the amber liquid before speaking.

"What is happening with the child?" She asked while looking at Silas sharply. Her demeanour was not that of a humble woman. She was the one in power despite the obvious difference with Silas Campbell.

The man opposite her did not answer immediately. 

Silas was a proud man, but he could not help bowing to the woman before him when she spoke. This was not because she was a beautiful woman. It was not enough of a reason for him to compromise his true pride.

He only respected true power.

In reality, his attitude toward the woman was linked to her mysterious powers and what they had done for him. She was responsible for his position in the government and for allowing him to maintain his youthful appearance.
