Celine's POV
The recent turn out of events of the past few days have made me start thinking of my plans to escape. There's no way Jake would find out that I'm the daughter of the Alpha of Silver Claw Pack and he would let me be,if he wasn't that affected when his aura hit his sister. He was going to kill me on the spot but somehow I didn't want to leave,I just felt the need to be here.
Rose hasn't been whining much lately about wanting to be close with Jake, things were not going as I planned. I sighed and matched to Jake's room,I was the only one assigned there so I had to do everything alone what a cruel way to treat his mate!
Good morning Alpha." Jake was still in bed when I came in to clean, looking at him now one would have thought the Lycan King isn't dangerous until you see him change.
"Just call me Jake when we're alone." His voice was hoarse.
"No.. I'll stick with Alpha, that's what everyone calls you then why should I be different." I wasn't going to risk my head. I've decided to tread carefully,I might have Alpha's blood in me but I'm still not a match for the Lycans.
"Aren't you going out today?" I asked him and went to lift the curtains up and the morning sun hit the room.
"Hmmm." He murmured.
"Are you fine?" He had covered himself in such a way that If I was the one I wouldn't be able to breathe properly.
"Alpha?" It wasn't like him to still be in bed.
"Sir?" Still no response.
I went to his side and lifted the duvet up with a lot of force. What if he was naked?
"Oh my!" Thank Gooddess he wasn't naked but his lips were pale and his skin was so white. I used my palm to check his temperature. He was so hot.
"Chloe!" I was about to go downstairs when he held my hand.
"You need a doctor." Let me guess he was going to whine about not wanting anyone to know.
"I'll be fine." He replied and released my arm.
Honestly I wanted to just get back to my work and leave him there, seeing like this made a part of me happy. The other part wants me to stay and care for him.
Celine you shouldn't be this way he deserves whatever is coming to him.
"Not if I can help it,I would love for you to die but my wolf won't be at peace." I told him he laughed at my words; he must have thought that it's an empty threat.
"If you won't let me call Chloe, let me at least get something to calm the fever down." I told him while I checked his temperature again.
He was so handsome I wanted to touch his silky black hair so much. What's wrong with me? He's your enemy Celine!
"Fine." He gave in to my request.
"I'll be back." I ran to the kitchen to get a basin not minding Nicholas who was yelling at some pack maids.
I went inside the room then to the bathroom filled the basin with water and took a neat towel,his scent was all over the place stirring Rose up.
"Okay unbutton your shirt." I can't believe I'm doing this.
"You've got to be kidding me." He retorted.
"I can't calm your fever down when you're all dressed up." I frowned.
"Fine." He grumbled and took off his chest.
"Oh my." My mouth went open by itself. He had a small tattoo of a wolf on his chest. His packs were complete. From here I could see it was hard.
"Aren't you going to do something?" Jake spoke up.
"I …will." I stuttered and my face was all red. I felt embarrassed losing all my composure because of a man's chest.
I used the napkin to cool down his temperature thank Gooddess it was working.
"Do you know why you're feeling this way?" I asked him, trying to distract myself from the weird thought that I was having.
"Yes." His eyes were closed.
"And it is?" I asked.
"It isn't something I can't handle." His voice was affecting me now.
"You do say that a lot." That was what he said to Chloe the other day.
"You should share things with them, there is this saying a problem shared is a problem solved." I dipped the napkin into the basin again.
"I'm not weak, I can handle things myself."
"Okay." He was stubborn.
"Stop, I'm fine now." I was about to use the napkin on him when he stopped me.
"Huh okay then." I helped him adjust so he could sleep well.
I took the basin and went back to the kitchen. I guess he was annoyed by my presence; he didn't want to feel weak in front of me.
"Where have you been?" Nicholas screeched.
"Errands." I went to clean the basin.
"I heard the witch is going to be here soon." Nicholas pulled me closer.
"Who?" I eyed him.
"Anabelle of course,I heard she's coming back tonight." He replied and went to the oven.
That girl has no pride seeing her Father being disgraced like that. She was supposed to demand an apology from Jake before coming back here.
"So why do you call her witch?" I helped him with the flour.
"Not only me,most pack members call her that." He replied he was tasting the mixture.
"So why do you guys call her that isn't she like your Luna?" I adjusted the fire, I've grown fond of Nicholas. We were even cooking in Synchrony.
"Honestly,most of us don't like her but it's not like we have a choice." He replied.
"Hadn't it been…"
"Hadn't been what?"
" Hadn't been Alpha has his own mate, things would have been better." I felt a pang in my heart at his words.
