Celine's POV
Thank you for helping me." I told the guy who had just helped me come out of the situation. I had seen him a couple of times with Jake.
"I'm Scott." He stretched forth his hands.
His hair was platinum in color and his lips were in a thin line,he was handsome too but his beauty couldn't match that of Jake..
"I'm Celine." I shaked his hand.
"Celine." He smiled at me.
His eyes were deep blue. He had this innocent look snap out of it. Celine I shook my head in disapproval.
"So Celine, why didn't you want to join us for dinner?" Scott asked.
"Oh that I have a lot of things to do and besides I'm not in the position to sit down there." I rubbed my palm together and the cold breeze brushed through my skin.
"I see." He nodded.
Scott took off his jacket and placed it round me, adjusting it in a way that would keep me warm. He was so close to me. I coughed awkwardly not knowing how to address the situation.
"You've got a hair strand over there." He pointed to my forehead.
I tried to remove it but I couldn't. He stepped closer and removed it.
"Tha-nk you." I stammered I'm very sure my face was all red.
"WHAT GOING HERE!" The loud growl stopped Scott from replying.
I turned around to see an angry looking Jake. His eyes were changing color,I stepped away from Scott at once.
"Just helping a lady out." Scott pocketed he wasn't affected by Jake.
"Helping?" Jake scoffed and walked to where I was.
"With your hands on her?" Jake said through gritted teeth.
"He helped me out when I had a panic attack out here and gave me his jacket because of the cold that's all." I was annoyed. What was his problem?
"I'll take my leave now." I said angrily and left the two men alone.
"Our mate is jealous." Rose whined.
"Jealous?" I scoffed.
"That's not jealousy, that's an annoying character." I stomped into my room and laid on my bed.
"I didn't get to return this." Scott's jacket was still on me,I did a mental calculation to wash it and give it back to him.
"What a stressful day." I yawned. I was feeling sleepy. I shut my eyes and embraced the darkness.
"Celine wait." Chloe called after me.
I was going to the garden to wet the flowers when she stopped me.
"Good morning." I greeted her.
"Have you been avoiding me Celine?" Chloe asked.
"No, why would I?" I was indeed avoiding her. Chloe had grown so close to me that I see her as the sister I never had.
"Then why have you been distant?" Chloe held my arm.
"Lady Chloe you have a visitor." A maid walked in to tell her I used that as an excuse to avoid the conversation.
"I'll be going now." I bowed and left.
"Who wants to see me this morning?" I heard Chloe asking the girl.
I don't think I would ever get over the fact that Jake killed my father, even if he has initiated me into his pack the hatred will never leave.I was the only survivor of my pack I barely managed to escape, though he ordered a search for me he didn't succeed.
Escaping was what got me into the hands of the slave traders. The slave market was hell on Earth,I closed my eyes remembering the painful past.
"Are you fine?" I flinched at the voice.
"Scott, you scared me." He was looking all gracious in his casual wear.
"We have a mate, remember?" Rose hissed.
"You looked like you wanted to black out,is it too heavy for you?" He pointed at the watering can I was holding.
"No..no,I do this almost every day." I waved my hands in disapproval.
"Let me." He took the can from me, not letting me argue.
"Here's how you do it." He demonstrated.
"Oh that's right!" I clapped remembering that I hadn't returned his jacket.
"What?"
"Your jacket I didn't return, can you wait here while I go get it?" I asked him.
"Sure." He winked at me.
"Um.. you don't have to do this." I pointed to the flowers.
"Just let me." He pouted.
I laughed. I didn't know he had this side,I felt like I've known him for some time now and I just met him some night back.
"I'll be right back." I smiled and hurried. I felt like I was being watched.
I looked up to see Jake looking at me, his eyes were changing color,I shook my head. Maybe it was my imagination.
Scott and I chatted for a long time. He had this charisma, you can never get bored with him.
"So tell me are you in?" Scott had asked me to accompany him to the neighboring pack.
"I'm not sure you know it depends on the Alpha." I replied.
"We'll be back in a jiffy and he wouldn't even know you were gone." We were now going back to the pack house.
He was right Jake wouldn't notice I was gone he was always annoyed with my presence I'm sure he'll be glad I was away.
"Okay I'll go with you." I yielded.
"Hooray!" He danced around.
"You're embarrassing me!" I yelled at him and I covered my face when I saw some girls looking at us.
"Okay I won't." He lifted his hands in surrender.
"So tomorrow we have a deal." He stretched his hands.
"Fine." I rolled my eyes and shook his hands.
"Gamma Sir." A young guard came to us.
I looked at the back wondering who he was referring to.
"Yes." Scott answered.
My mouth went open. He was the Gamma!
"The Alpha wants to see you." The guard said.
"You are the Gamma!" My eyes widened.
"I'll see you later." He winked at me and left with the guard.
I was stunned putting the pieces together now I know why he was always with Jake he was the third in command.
