Celine's POV
Happy birthday Celine!" My dad's cheerful voice ringed as he drew me closer in a tight hug, when I got to the kitchen.
"Dad?" He was wearing an apron and what was he doing?
"Ohh don't mind me." He released me and went to the oven.
"Ouch!" He wasn't wearing gloves and the cupcakes were burnt.
"Dad." I laughed and the whole kitchen was a mess. He was stained with flour.
"I'm sorry dear I just wanted to make something for you before the celebration." He face palmed himself.
"Come on dad, I know you aren't good with kitchen stuff." I laughed again seeing him pout,he just had this cute side to him.
"Seriously?" He arched his brow.
"Yes but there is one thing more important than baking for me." I took the tray from him.
"Which is?" His hands were on his waist as he watched me do my magic.
"The pack, you might not be great in the kitchen but you are great in handling pack matters and that's all that matters to me." I smiled at him.
"Okay fine fine,I get your point." He lifted his hands in surrender.
"Dad." I sighed. I didn't know if it was the right time.
"Yes love." He wanted me to go on.
"Never mind, it's nothing." I shook my head in disapproval. I didn't want to ruin the moment.
"Come on don't do that,I know something's up tell me." He looked at me with concern and filled his eyes.
"Can you tell me about her now?" I looked at him with a look of desperation.
I needed to know the truth about my mother. The only thing I knew about her was that she left the pack immediately after I was born,and that she abandoned me.
I tried looking for her picture and anything that could tell me about her but I got nothing and my dad never wanted me to discuss this topic. He said he'll tell me when I'm old enough to handle the truth.
"You aren't ready Celine, believe me I don't want to keep it from you anymore." He apologized.
"I understand, I'll wait." I tried to mask my emotions so he wouldn't notice that I was hurt.
"I love you Celine." He drew me closer and hugged me.
"I love you too Dad." I love his emotional side.
I felt a slight sting in my hand and heard some voices echoing. My eyes fluttered open. It was a dream, one of my happiest memories.
"She's awake!" Chloe yelled.
"Where am I?" I wasn't in my room looking around me, I was in a hospital.
"You're just healing, don't move." Chloe stopped me before I could stand up.
"You got me worried dear." Her voice could tell that she was indeed worried.
"What happened?" Some kind of drip was passed into my hand.
"You kept screaming and holding your chest. I had to get my brother to bring you here, can't you remember?" She drew the chair closer and sat beside me checking my temperature.
"She's fine now, just needs some rest." A doctor which I didn't know was here the whole time.
I closed my eyes recalling the past events Chloe walked into my room asking for help for her dinner date,I was about to go with her when I felt the heart stabbing pain I touched my heart in reflex the pain wasn't like before.
"Are you still feeling pain?" The doctor asked.
"No, I'm just weak." I answered him.
"You just need some rest,I'll take my leave now." He bowed to Chloe and left.
"Do you perhaps have any heart disease?" Chloe looked at me wanting to be out of the confused state which I was also in.
"This is the first time this has happened to me." I told her.
"Rose." She should know.
"I'm sorry." Rose apologized.
"Why are you sorry am I really sick?" I looked at Chloe if Rose was apologizing then her claims might be true.
"Noo it's just." Rose was contemplating if she should tell me or not.
"We are one,you shouldn't keep things from me."
"It's our mate."
"Hit me." What does Jake have to do with me feeling intense pain?
"He must have slept with someone last night. This happens when a mate has relations with someone else other than his mate." Rose sighed.
"So this was going to happen to me anytime the both of them had sex." I was hurt deeply,tears flowed profusely.
"Hey." Chloe stood up.
"Can you please leave me for a moment." My voice was breaking. I pleaded with her to leave. I didn't want her to see me in this state.
She hesitated at first thinking twice before leaving when I saw that she had left. I didn't control my emotions anymore.
I wept profusely the way my life was playing out scares me,I really don't have anything to live for anymore I know deep down that I was giving up on the string of survival.
"Rose let's leave here,I want to leave here." My eyes were bloodshot.
"I can't do this anymore, things will never get better." I hit the bed frustratingly.
I got back to the pack house and resumed my duties. I made up my mind to escape and I was going to at any opportunity I get.
"Celine, why don't you join us for dinner?" I was serving them dinner when she asked Anabelle,Jake,Steel and the other aura guy to be there.
Their eyes were all fixed waiting for my reply.
"I still have a lot to do." I rejected her offer.
"Let her be Chloe." Jake looked at me for a while before averting his gaze.
"My brother can be so uptight but trust me he's all bark but no bite." Chloe winked at me.
"Your brother?" I looked at Jake and then at Chloe in shock!
They were siblings Chloe that I thought could comfort me was Jake's sister,they were the family that caused me pain.
"Excuse me." I left hurriedly, almost stumbling.
I ran outside bent down and tried to catch my breath they're siblings. I should have known the resemblance and she told me in the hospital I just didn't pay attention to what she was saying.My breathing was uneven. I tried to calm myself down. Was I going through a panic attack?
"There there." A warm hand tapped my back repeatedly.
"Now take a deep breath in." The deep husky voice spoke.
I did as I was told and took a deep breath in.
"Now breathe out." The voice commanded again.
I did that again . I repeated the actions a few times before standing up to see who had helped me out.
"You?" My eyes widened.
