**BACK TO MC**
Returning to a few moments earlier
As I exited the complex, the sensation of victory and absolute power enveloped me like a dark cloak.
The blood staining my iridescent armor was beginning to dry, leaving an opaque sheen that seemed to glow with a sinister light under the pale moonlight.
Every step I took echoed through the empty corridors, a sound that seemed to celebrate my rise to total dominance.
Every fiber of my being had been transformed.
There was no trace left of the old me, of the man who had once been trapped by weakness and morality.
Now, there was only a creature born from chaos and destruction, an entity that knew no limits, no mercy.
Every kill, every torture, every stifled scream had fed the fire burning within me, a fire that would never be extinguished.
I crossed the main gate of the complex, feeling the cold night air caress my face.
The darkness wrapped around me, but this time it was not an enemy, but an ally that protected me, that gave me strength.
I raised my eyes to the starless night sky and felt a wicked laugh rise from within.
I was ready to take my fury beyond those walls, to unleash hell on an unsuspecting world.
It was then that I saw her, my faithful nanny, emerging from the shadows.
Her face was lit by a warm and reassuring smile, but I knew how to read between the lines.
There was something deeper in that smile, something that reflected my own darkness.
She approached calmly, her eyes filled with a nearly maternal pride.
"Well done, dear," she said in a voice that seemed filled with genuine approval.
I stopped, letting her words resonate within me.
"You managed to do what was necessary. How do you feel now that it's all over?"
Her questions seemed gentle, but I knew my nanny never asked anything without a reason.
She was studying me carefully, waiting for my reaction, trying to probe my deepest thoughts.
I could feel her presence like a thin thread still tying me to my old life, but that thread was now breaking.
"I was wondering," she continued in a light, almost casual tone, "what were you thinking during those moments? Did you find satisfaction in completing your mission?"
I turned slightly, scrutinizing her expression.
There was something fascinating about her apparent innocence, a perfectly worn mask that concealed a cold and calculating mind.
I suspected she had observed my every move, even if she didn't say so openly.
Her trust in me was rooted, but it wasn't blind.
She needed to know if the monster she had helped create was now ready for its final destiny.
"Satisfaction?" I replied, my voice a whisper filled with darkness.
"I found much more. I found my true nature. I felt the power flowing within me, the strength of someone who knows no limits. There is no doubt left in me. This is my purpose."
Her smile widened, as if she had found exactly what she was looking for in my words.
As the words left my mouth, I observed her reaction closely.
I wanted to see if that seemingly genuine smile hid something darker, something that could confirm my suspicions.
My nanny had always been an enigmatic figure, a guide who had brought me to this point, but now I couldn't help but wonder if all of this was really part of her plan.
"Tell me," I said, trying to keep my tone casual but with a subtle thread of challenge in my words.
"How did you know everything would go according to your plans? How could you be so sure I would embrace this… nature?"
The question seemed innocent, but it was an attempt to uncover her true intentions, to understand if behind that maternal face lay something more manipulative, more cold.
My trust in her was deep, but I couldn't ignore the shadow of doubt stirring within me.
She looked at me for a moment, then laughed lightly, as if my question had been predictable, even enjoyable.
"Dear," she replied, her voice as sweet as poisoned honey, "it wasn't a matter of knowing, but of having faith in you. I always saw in you a potential that went beyond the limits of what you were. And I knew that, with the right encouragement, you would find your true path. The rest… well, the rest you did on your own."
Her words flowed with a disarming calm, her expression remained soft and full of affection.
It was as if she were speaking to a child of whom she was proud, a child who had finally learned the most important lesson of his life.
And yet, I couldn't find anything concrete to grasp, no cracks in her perfect facade.
I tried to press further, hoping to catch her off guard.
"And if it hadn't turned out this way? If I had chosen another path? You had a plan for every possibility, didn't you?"
Once again, her reaction was impeccable.
Her smile widened slightly, and a light of understanding sparked in her eyes, as if my question was almost touching in its naivety.
"I never doubted you," she replied, "I never needed a plan B. You were always destined for this, even if you didn't know it. I simply nurtured what was already inside you."
Despite my efforts, I couldn't find anything to accuse her of, nothing to confirm my suspicions.
Her answers were perfect, calculated yet sincere.
It was as if every move I had made had been anticipated, every question I had asked had already been foreseen.
In the end, I let my interrogation drop, aware that I would get nothing.
Perhaps, after all, my nanny was truly what she seemed: a devoted mentor, a figure who had always believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself.
Or maybe I was right, but what was certain is that at the moment it would have been impossible to prove my suspicion.
She smiled again, taking a step forward to caress my face with an affectionate gesture.
"I'm so proud of you," she said, her voice filled with a sweetness that seemed almost supernatural.
"You've exceeded every expectation, you've embraced what you were always meant to be. Now you are ready to face the world, to leave the mark you've always wanted to."
I felt enveloped by her warmth, her affection, and a part of me finally let go, accepting the truth she offered me.
Her faith in me was palpable, and in that moment, I realized there was no point in doubting further.
I had chosen my path, and she would be by my side, as always.
"Thank you," I replied, my voice more confident now, more determined. "I couldn't have done it without you."
Her smile widened even more, and in her eyes, I saw a light of satisfaction.
"And I will always be here for you," she whispered, "until the end."
