STELLA’s POV

I watched Tyler as he pulled his drawer open and pulled out a black velvety box inside of it. He opened the box in front of me and I gasped in surprise when I got to see what was inside.

The box held a diamond ring encircled with deep, small diamond baguettes. He then picked up the ring and grabbed my hand, sliding the ring on my finger. “Always wear this ring so that the world will know who you belong to.”

Tyler released my hand but his eyes were still not leaving mine. But I tore my gaze away from his and stared at my new diamond ring instead. Oh my God, am I really marrying him?

“Do you really believe that us getting married will clean my reputation?” I asked. “What if the world thinks that I’m just another gold digger?” I asked barely a whisper when I blurted out the second question. I couldn’t help but think about it. It bothered me so much.
