Chapitre 3: Chapter 3: Shadows of Change

Liam's dreamscape shifted around him as he stepped into the doorway, transforming the void into an endless labyrinth of interconnected rooms and corridors. Each space was distinct yet eerily similar, lit by dim, flickering lights that cast long shadows on the worn, yellowed wallpaper. The air was thick with the scent of mildew and the faint hum of fluorescent lights, a disorienting atmosphere that seemed to pulse with a life of its own.

As Liam wandered through the maze, he felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity, as if he had been here before, though he knew it was impossible. The labyrinth seemed to stretch on forever, each turn and twist leading to more of the same, an infinite expanse that defied the very laws of reality.

*What is this place?* Liam thought, feeling a mixture of awe and trepidation. *Why does it feel like I know it? Like it knows me?*

The walls of the backrooms seemed to whisper secrets, their faint, sibilant voices just beyond the edge of hearing. Shadows danced in the corners of his vision, fleeting and elusive, adding to the sense of being watched by unseen eyes.

But amid the disorienting sameness, pieces of information began to unfold in his mind, like whispers carried on the wind. He could feel the backrooms shifting and moving, an ever-changing entity that was alive in its own right. It was as if the walls themselves were breathing, flexing with a silent rhythm that Liam could almost hear.

*It's alive,* he realized, a shiver running down his spine. *This place is alive, and it's connected to me.*

He began to understand that this place, this strange and unsettling realm, was somehow intertwined with his very essence. The shadows that had seeped into his dreams were a conduit, linking him to the backrooms and imbuing him with knowledge and power that he had never known before.

*What does this mean? What am I supposed to do with this?* Liam wondered, the weight of the revelations pressing down on him. *Is this... my destiny?*

Liam walked through a narrow hallway lined with doors, each one a portal to a different part of the backrooms. The doors were all different—some old and wooden, others sleek and metallic, a few even glowing with an eerie, otherworldly light. He felt a strange pull towards one door in particular, its handle cold and heavy in his hand. As he opened it, he found himself standing on the threshold of an immense, cavernous space, the walls adorned with countless clocks, all ticking in perfect unison.

Each clock was unique, some ornate and antique, others modern and minimalist, yet all synchronized to the same relentless rhythm. The room was bathed in a soft, golden light that seemed to emanate from the clocks themselves, casting long, surreal shadows that danced across the floor.

As he moved through the room, he felt time itself bending around him, the minutes and hours stretching and contracting in an endless dance. He knew, instinctively, that he had the power to manipulate this place, to control its myriad facets and bend it to his will.

*I can control time here. This is... incredible. But why me? Why now?*

The knowledge continued to flow into his mind, a torrent of information that threatened to overwhelm him. He saw visions of creatures lurking in the shadows, their forms shifting and changing with each passing moment. They were the denizens of the backrooms, entities born of the darkness that now resided within him. He understood that he could command these creatures, summon them at will, and use their powers to his advantage.

*These creatures... they're mine to command. I can use them, control them. No one can hurt me anymore.*

Liam also saw flashes of other worlds, parallel dimensions that intersected with the backrooms in ways he could scarcely comprehend. He realized that he could traverse these worlds, moving between them with ease, a master of the multiverse with the backrooms as his domain.

*I can travel to other worlds. The possibilities are endless. I'm not just a victim anymore. I'm... powerful.*

As the dream continued, Liam's understanding deepened. He saw how he could draw others into the backrooms, using it as a place of power and control. He could manipulate the very fabric of reality, bending it to his will and exacting vengeance on those who had wronged him.

*I can bring them here. Make them feel what I felt. No more bullying, no more pain. I can make them pay.*

Then, as he wandered deeper into the labyrinth, he stumbled upon a hidden alcove. It was a small, shadowy space, barely illuminated by the faint glow of a single, ancient lamp. In the center of the alcove stood a large, ornate mirror, its surface rippling like water.

Drawn to it, Liam reached out and touched the mirror, and immediately, his mind was flooded with images. He saw iconic horror characters and notorious villains, both fictional and non-fictional, their terrifying visages flashing before his eyes—Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Pennywise the Clown, and even historical figures of infamy. He understood that he could summon these entities, too, pulling them from the depths of the backrooms to do his bidding.

*I can summon them all... Every monster, every villain. They can be mine to command. My power... it knows no bounds.*

Just as he thought the deluge of revelations had ended, Liam felt a new wave of energy wash over him, bringing with it knowledge of beings far more ancient and powerful. He saw the eldritch horrors of H.P. Lovecraft's universe: the Great Old Ones, entities like Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, and Yog-Sothoth, their immense and incomprehensible forms twisting and writhing in the abyss. He realized that he could summon these beings as well, commanding their eldritch might and unleashing their terror upon those who dared to oppose him.

*Even the Lovecraftian horrors... They're within my grasp. I can bring forth the terror of the cosmos itself. No one will stand a chance against me.*

Finally, the vision began to fade, the endless corridors and shifting shadows dissolving into darkness. But the knowledge remained, a part of him now, woven into the very essence of his being.

Liam awoke with a start, his heart pounding in his chest. He sat up in bed, the details of the dream still vivid in his mind. He knew that something fundamental had changed within him, that he was no longer the powerless victim he had once been.

*The backrooms are mine. This power... it's real. And I will use it. They will regret ever crossing me.*

The backrooms were his to command, an infinite realm of possibilities and power. And with this newfound strength, he would no longer be at the mercy of his tormentors. He would rise above the shadows, wielding their darkness as his own. And he would make them pay.
