As we stepped back into my apartment, a lazy Saturday atmosphere settling around us, Carmen stretched and flopped onto the couch, completely ignoring the mountain of paperwork stacked on the side table.
She'd managed to dodge it the past few days even if she had started to get back on in yesterday, but it had finally caught up with her. I raised an eyebrow, seeing her sink into the cushions with a content sigh.
"Carmen, what exactly do you think you're doing?" I said, crossing my arms, giving her a pointed look.
"Oh, you know, just relaxing with my lovely girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon," she replied, grinning up at me, completely unfazed.
"Not a chance." I scoffed, planting myself in front of her with a smirk. "You've got work piled up over there, Miss Steele."
She shot a quick look at the paperwork and then back at me, her eyes widening like a guilty child. "You wouldn't... You wouldn't make me work on a Saturday, would you?"
