Chapitre 242: Let’s make pasta

I shot Carmen a look, but she just gave me an exaggerated wink, clearly enjoying herself way too much.

The photographer, however, wasn't buying it. He studied Carmen for a moment, then shook his head. "Carmen," he said, his tone firm but not unkind, "why don't you step back for a bit? Let Elena finish up."

Carmen pouted, but there was a twinkle in her eye that told me she wasn't really upset. "Fine, fine," she said, holding up her hands in mock surrender. "I'll leave the professional to her work."

As she stepped away, I finally felt like I could breathe again. Carmen's presence was always electrifying, but it was a relief to have a moment to focus. The photographer gave me a nod, and I took a deep breath, ready to finally get back on track.

But as I struck the next pose, I couldn't help but catch Carmen's eye from across the room. She was still watching me, still grinning, and despite myself, I couldn't help but smile back.
