Guided by her intuition, Wen Nannan kept climbing higher and, unexpectedly, arrived at the seaside by sunset. Below was a steep cliff, and it would be nearly impossible to descend without ropes. A misstep would certainly result in certain death.
The sunset cast a beautiful glow on the sea, with the waves rippling gently in the evening breeze. It was a stunning scene, but who would think that beneath this tranquil and gentle night sky, the island was hosting a brutal hunting game?
Wen Nannan withdrew her gaze, crouched down to maintain a vigilant posture, and left the area. Although standing high allowed her to see far, it also made her a target.
Night fell quickly, and Wen Nannan hadn't yet found a suitable place to spend the night. The previous location was clearly no longer safe. She was considering hiding in a bush which would provide shelter from the wind and cold, when she suddenly heard a man's scream of agony.
