Chapitre 15: Chapter Fourteen: It Was Happening For Real

Ciara's POV

Vulcan stood right in front of me. I rolled my eyes at him and readjusted my stance, my mind still focused on the taxi driver I owed, who was waiting nearby.

"Remind me your name again. Chiara... hmm." He placed a finger to his temple, as if deep in thought. "Yes, Chiara, that's what it sounded like to me."

I ignored his remarks, even though part of me wanted to fire back. In my mind, I had come for his help with the cab fare, but seeing his egotistical demeanor and realizing I couldn't live without him, I pretended I had come there for something more important. Even though I was back into his life.

With one last glance backward, I turned to him, projecting a confidence that didn't quite reach my core. "Now, if you'll excuse me."

He stepped back a bit. "Of course, you're excused. I never wanted you anyways."
