Chapitre 62: Chapter Sixty Two

Rain lashed against Suzy's face, blurring the world around her. Her nightgown, plastered to her skin, offered no protection from the icy chill and her hair plastered to her face. Yet, she pushed forward, her feet numb against the wet stone path, driven by an unseen force.

The dream, now a vivid memory, echoed in her mind. The well, dark and ominous, stood as a stark symbol of the fate she feared awaited her.  "My head…" she muttered, a hand flying to her temple.  "It feels like it's going to explode."

Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat echoing in her ears.  Nausea churned in her stomach, adding to the growing sense of disorientation.  Each step felt like a monumental effort, her legs heavy and leaden.

"Why, Cassandra?" she gasped, the question tearing from her lips like a sob.  "Why did they kill you? What reason could there be?"
