"Do you think he's figured it out?"
"No." Heaven sat in the backseat, gaze lowered. "I highly doubt it. He's not going to find out. Not anytime soon, at least."
"Why does he want to meet with you, then?" Bear asked in his deep baritone voice, his sharp gaze fixed on the road. "You're not seriously considering going, are you, boss?"
Heaven took her time before responding, mulling over what her next move should be. She hadn't yet replied to Primo's message, and her shopping trip had lost its appeal. She had already purchased plenty for her husband, son, and Axel, after all.
"He's going to get rid of Paula." Her head turned slowly, eyes peering out the window. "Do I even have a choice?"
Bear's expression showed his displeasure with her response. "Of course, you have a choice," he rebuked. "Leave her to her own fate."
