Chapitre 19: 18: The Other One

Ryan felt his head hurt like hell and it felt that he could lose his consciousness at any moment. The place near him was strange, not a place where he should be present.

The room seemed to sway and shift, like a magnificent painting coming to life in a swirl of colors and lights.

He blinked, trying to clear his blurry sight, and what he saw was a dizzying blur of opulence and grandeur.

The floor was a sea of gleaming marble, too smooth and polished to trust his unsteady feet.

Every step he took seemed to make the entire room tilt, as if he was walking on a boat instead of solid ground.

His gaze drifted upward, and the high, vaulted ceiling appeared to stretch endlessly into the sky, adorned with shimmering chandeliers that sparkled like a thousand stars. Each glimmer seemed to pull at his vision, making it hard to focus.

Tall pillars rose from the floor to the ceiling, their surfaces adorned with intricate carvings that seemed to shift and change before his eyes.

Gold and silver vines seemed to twist and writhe, as if they were alive and dancing in rhythm with the music that filled the air.

The sound of harps and violins was both distant and overwhelming, the melody drifting in and out of his consciousness like a lullaby of some distant dream.

'Where the hell am I ? is this some fictional transmigration shit or someone is playing a grand prank on me'

Words played in Ryan's mind but didn't come out of his mouth.

Deciding he needed some time he tried to make his way out of the room. The grand staircase in front of him loomed large and daunting, each step seeming to rise and fall like waves on the ocean. He reached out for the railing, its surface cool and smooth under his trembling hand.

"Where are you going, Young lord~~?"

A seductive voice came from behind as a girl put his hand on Ryan's shoulders and stopped him.

Ryan who was barely managing himself suddenly felt a burst of anger due to the girl's action. He looked at her and with an angry tone ordered her.

"Stay put"

A shiver ran down her spine and Ryan could clearly see that. However she still tried to persuade him but before she could do anything few guards came in between him and her.

As he steadied himself and focused on climbing the staircase to get a little away from all these noises, he noticed the heavy velvet curtains that framed the tall windows, their rich colors creating a backdrop of shadow and light that added to the surreal quality of the room.

Ryan's eyes wandered to the dance floor, where elegantly dressed couples moved in a graceful blur.

Their figures swirled and shifted, as if caught in a whirlpool of movement that made him feel dizzy and disoriented.

He tried to focus on the music, but the notes seemed to slip through his fingers, a beautiful yet elusive melody that made him want to both listen and escape.

He finally gazed toward the end of the room where the thrones stood, but even those seemed to waver and blur.

The regal splendor of the dais and its golden thrones were just distant shapes in his impaired vision, adding to the feeling that he was drifting in a dream, far from the reality he knew.

' is this a ballroom of some medieval time or something'

a thought came in his eyes as he watched his surroundings. But before he could look for a minute to appreciate the beauty, his drowsiness became heavy and his body suddenly started to feel strange.

With a sigh of effort, Ryan leaned heavily against a pillar, his head spinning and his thoughts muddled. The grandeur of the ballroom, with all its beauty and opulence, felt like a distant, ungraspable fantasy.

All he could do was hold on and try to stay upright as the world around him swirled in a haze of dazzling lights and muffled music.

***

As Ryan reached the top of the staircase, the girl standing there adoring the view turned slightly, her face illuminated by the soft glow of the moonlight streaming through the window's reflection.

Her features were delicate, almost ethereal, her raven black hairs that shone in the moonlight and her emerald green eyes held a quiet depth that seemed to draw him in further.

Despite the fog in his mind, there was something about her that felt so familiar, like a memory just out of reach.

Ryan tried to dig deep in his memory but to no avail, his situation made it impossible for him to focus.

Feeling the presence of him the girl turned towards him. She didn't move or speak, but her gaze lingered on him, curious.

Ryan's breath caught in his throat as an inexplicable urge tugged at him, pulling him closer to her.it was just like she was inviting him towards him.

Without a word, he took a step forward, then another, until he was standing just a few feet away. The air between them was thick with unspoken tension, a magnetic pull that Ruan seemed unable to resist.

Just before he could reach her Ryan stumbled on his way however, she extended her hand toward him, and without hesitation, Ryan took it.

Her touch was cool, calming the fire that had been coursing through him since he had that drink. She led him down the dimly lit corridor, her footsteps light and sure, while his were unsteady, driven more by instinct than thought.

"Fool you shouldn't have drink much, even though it's your first time"

The girl spoke some words but he was unable to comprehend them. His breath was heavy and the cooling sensation that rose from her touch, he wanted to have more.

They reached the door to his bedroom, an unfamiliar space that at this moment looked like a sanctuary for him.

The atmosphere was charged with something new, something that made his heart race despite the haze clouding his thoughts.

He fumbled slightly with the door, but she was patient, her presence steadying him as he finally managed to open it.

Once inside, the door automatically closed softly behind them, the noise of the party fading to a distant hum.

The room was dim, lit only by the faint glow of the moon filtering through the curtains and few mana lights arranged to ensure a peaceful sleep.

She guided him to the bed, and Ryan sat down heavily on the edge, his head spinning as he tried to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions he was feeling.

"Are you okay? Why are you panting this heavily?"

She asked as she stood before him, her eyes searching his face, as if trying to understand what he was thinking and going through.

Ryan's gaze drifted from her eyes to her lips, and the desire that had been simmering beneath the surface flared up, almost overwhelming him.

His hand reached out, brushing against her waist, pulling her closer.

For a moment, they were both still, the world outside forgotten. The only sound was their breathing, growing deeper, more synchronized, as they closed the distance between them.

"Artius, wait"

the girl spoke as their lips distanced to breathe a little.

"Call me Ryan"

A word escaped Ryan's mouth somehow. But before the girl could respond Ryan engaged in another kiss with her, blocking her voice and she accepted him with open arms, responding with her tongue intertwining with his.
