Chapitre 8: Chapter 8 serious mistake

However, as an information broker with a strong and cunning personality, Argo quickly pushed this matter out of her mind just a few seconds later.

She blinked curiously at Arthur, as if trying to see through him.

"By the way, are you really not a closed beta player?" Argo marveled, surprised that someone who wasn't a closed beta player had such terrifying strength, which intrigued her.

"Do I have any reason to lie to you?" Arthur rolled his eyes.

Argo stroked her chin, squinting her eyes slightly. "Well, I'll believe you for now."

Arthur smiled. Why was this girl so suspicious?

"But, if you're not a closed beta player, then your luck is too incredible," Argo said, considering that the game had only been officially launched for a day, and Arthur had already obtained a sword skill of at least lower tier.

"What do you mean?" Arthur raised an eyebrow, curious about Argo's statement.

"It means that it's only been a day since the official launch of the game, and you've already obtained a sword skill of at least lower tier. You're the first among the players I know." Argo revealed what she knew, confident in her assessment of sword skill levels.

"The players you know? Closed beta players?" Arthur asked knowingly.

Argo, indeed, had a wide network and knew almost all the closed beta players, even had contacts with them.

Argo fell silent for a moment at the question, then nodded. "Yes."

"So, why are you here?" Arthur looked at the information broker, wondering if his presence had caused a butterfly effect. In the original story, Argo didn't die in this death game. But in today's situation, if he hadn't appeared, this most famous information broker in SAO might have permanently exited the game.

"It's nothing. There was a treasure chest here during the closed beta that could yield decent items, so I came to check it out." Argo shrugged, not hesitating to tell Arthur the answer.

There was no longer any need for secrecy, especially since Arthur had saved her.

"Oh," Arthur nodded, then added, "But it seems there was an accident."

"That's right. I didn't expect this treasure chest to be modified into a trap," Argo sighed deeply, not noticing Arthur's subtle expression.

"Yeah," Arthur agreed, understanding the seriousness of the situation.

Suddenly, Argo's expression changed, and she started moving her fingers in the air in front of her. Though Arthur didn't know what she was doing, he guessed she was contacting those closed beta players.

Arthur's guess was right. After realizing the severity of the problem, Argo immediately contacted her closed beta player friends.

"I should have thought of this earlier. It's a serious mistake!" While contacting her friends, Argo reproached herself.

Suddenly, Argo paused, her face turning pale.

"What's wrong?" Seeing Argo's sudden reaction, Arthur asked curiously.

"Nothing, nothing." Argo forced a smile, but in her view, one of her friends in the friend list had turned gray. This was the sign of logging out of the game, and in the current SAO, it only meant one thing: death.

Although Argo didn't say it, Arthur could tell that someone in her player friend list had died.

"It's all my fault. I should have realized it earlier," Argo bit her lip tightly, clenching her fists so tightly that she didn't even feel the pain of her nails digging into her flesh.

"How could Kayaba Akihiko allow closed beta players to easily gain resources far beyond ordinary players!" Argo's heart was as cold as ice at this moment, feeling the shame of being an information broker.

She should have thought carefully about this problem!

However, to confirm her thoughts, Argo sent messages to each of her friends.

After half a day, Argo, with a grim expression, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Although her face still looked heavy, it wasn't as grim as before.

"Thank you for saving me. I don't even know your name yet?" Argo finally asked Arthur.

"Arthur," he said, finding it strange that his name in this game was actually his real name.

"Arthur?" Argo frowned, then looked up at Arthur after finishing the name. "Are you American?"

"Yeah," Arthur nodded without hesitation.

"Well, I understand now, Arthur." Argo nodded, a smile reappearing on her face.

"So, this." Argo suddenly gestured in front of herself.

Arthur then saw a friend request appear in front of him.

Seeing Argo's name, Arthur glanced at her, then pressed the agree button.

After seeing that his friend request had been accepted, Argo smiled and said, "Although it's abrupt, Arthur, are you heading to higher-level areas?"

"Yeah," Arthur nodded. He indeed planned to advance to higher-level areas.
