Chapitre 18: Purchasing Skills

Upon hearing the question, Jack contemplated for a moment, before responding, "Currently, we want to start with a small hotel. For that reason, we don't really need the high level skills for the time being. So, we can start with the professional level skills."

Henry was left speechless when he heard that. In any case, from the two options that he had given to Jack, professional level skills were definitely at the highest level.

Deciding not to say anything about it, he immediately started going through the skills that were required for a hotel. Currently, he understood that for them to be able to run a hotel, enabling it to reach the highest level possible, they would require not only good chefs, but they would also need some of the recipes that could only be found in that hotel.

If something like that happened, it was clear that people would be coming to that hotel, as long as they liked that particular food. After all, there was going to be no any other place that this food could be found.

"There are several professional level skills that can be used. So, for the first one, I have decided to look for a professional management skill, something that will enable us to be able to manage the hotel for the time being, before hiring a manager that will be in charge of managing the hotel for us.

And other than that, I have looked for professional level chef skills. We don't really have to be the chefs in the hotel, but we can simply use the skills and train a small group of chefs that will be in charge of the hotel.

In any case, they don't really have to be performing excellently at first, but as long as they can prepare the food according to the recipe that we give them, that should be good enough for the time being." Henry started explaining.

Jack thought that what Henry had said was right. But he Did not agree with Henry about acquiring the management skills. He said, "Is there a skill that perhaps is related to talent judgment? That should be good enough, right?"

Henry was slightly surprised when he heard Jack saying that. Talent judgment skill? That was something that he had never heard of. Nonetheless, he decided to look for it, as he could immediately tell what Jack was thinking about.

The moment that he searched for the skill, he managed to find it. But, he was a little dumbfounded the moment that he saw the price that was tagged that particular skill.

[Professional level talent judgment skill: talent judgment experience of 20 years, enabling one to be able to judge the talent that a person possesses just from the little that is shown when they take action in a particular field. Price: $10 million.]

The price for this particular skill was the maximum price for the professional level skills. It could be said that it was the one that stood at the pinnacle of the professional level skills, in terms of price.

But to say the least, he was obviously amazed by this skill. From the description of the skill, it was clear that as long as he could see someone doing something, he would be able to judge the level of talent that the person possessed in what they were doing.

The only limitation of this skill was that he might end up missing some talents, because he needed to observe them in action, before being able to judge the level of their talent in that particular field.

Despite the limitation that was there, the advantage that he could gain from having this skill was tremendous. And, the cost was only $10 million. If someone really considered the benefits that could come by having such a skill, and the cost, they would tell that it was definitely cost effective.

At the end of it all, who could actually gain the ability of being able to judge someone's talent with just $10 million? It was impossible for them to be able to do that, as even some of the veteran scouts might not be able to judge using this criteria.

They might have to observe someone for quite a while, before being able to tell if they were talented or not. For those that were extremely talented, the scouts would not need to take that much long time to be able to know the level of the talent but they possessed in a particular field.

But for this skill, it enabled a person to be able to judge the level of talent that a person possessed in a certain field, even if the way that they were doing something at that moment was not showing that they actually had talent in that particular field.

After taking a deep breath, Henry looked at Jack and said, "You really are thoughtful. I never thought that something like that existed, even though I am the owner of this system."

Jack did not respond, and waited for Henry to tell him about the price. He could tell that the price might be quite high, but it was to be expected for him.

"The price is at $10 million. The highest price for the professional level skill." Henry said, as he looked at Jack. But he was surprised to see that Jack did not show any reaction, as if he had already anticipated that.

"That price is good enough. We should be able to find some talents in those fields that are required, enabling us to be able to ensure that the companies that are under us would have talented experts.

But the problem is how to make sure that those talents are not buried. After all, not just anybody can enable those people to be able to use their talents fully." Jack commented as he scratched his chin.

"You don't have to worry about that. We can simply gain the particular skill in the field that they are talented in, then gain the teaching skill, and with that, we should be able to teach them, enabling them to use their talents.

But as you know, it is going to take quite some time for a person who is not yet established, yet talented in a particular field, to be able to grow. But time is something that we are not sure about, as we don't know how long we are supposed to be in this world." Henry commented.

Jack fell into a moment of thought, as he thought about it, before finally saying, "First of all, we should try to find those that are experienced, but are talented in those fields first. They should be the ones that would be running at the forefront.

As for the young talents, we can look for methods that we can continue making sure that they grow as fast as possible. That way, it should not be that difficult for us to be able to carry out what we want, ensuring that we reach the top of this world as soon as possible."

"Makes sense." Henry said as he nodded. After saying those words, he immediately purchased the skill, which appeared in form of a scroll, within the system inventory.

Then, he went ahead and purchased the rest of the skills including the chef skills, professional sensory analyst skills, and finally, professional teaching skills scrolls.

But the moment that he wanted to purchase the two professional teaching skills, he realized that the balance was not enough.

[Professional chef skills: 20 years experience and skills in cooking. Price: 4 million dollars.]

[Professional sensory analyst skills: an export with 20 years of experience in testing the taste, texture, aroma and quality of food and beverages. Price, $2 million.]

The moment that he purchased those three skills, it already caused him $16 million. But he had intended to purchase two teaching skills, but the cost of the teaching skill was something that surprised him once again.

[Professional teaching skills: 20 years of experience and skills are granted, together with the ability of knowing where to target in order to make one improve faster. Price: $9 million.]

For him to be able to purchase two teaching skills, he would have to get $4 million extra. But that was something that was out of the budget for the time being.

Left with no other choice, he decided that he was going to purchase one skill first, and the other one would be purchased later on, when they got the money that was required.

After making the purchase, he informed Jack about the prices of the skills, and the skills that he had purchased. And Jack could not help but be left speechless for a moment, when Henry told him that he had purchased the sensory analyst skill.

"If you already possess the professional level chef skills, why would you need the sensory analyst skill? Could it be that you are doubting the level of the professional chef skills, and one to confirm about the level of the skill using the sensory analyst skill?" Jack asked as he looked at Henry with a weird expression on his face.

Could it be that Henry was doubting the level of the skills that his system was providing? That was possible, right?

When Jack mentioned that, Henry was suddenly reminded. When he was purchasing the skill, he was not thinking along that line at all. Instead, he had only been thinking about the skills that might be required for a good hotel.

But suddenly, he thought of something and said, "For us, this skill is not needed. But we can teach it to some other people that we will hire, and they will enable the kitchen of our hotel to continue maintaining a high quality of food that has been served to the customers."
