Chapitre 149: 149 - From the ashes

Evelyn's fears finally came back, as she held the arm of the impassive Daemon who was holding a bag over his shoulder with his free hand. She was wearing the jumpsuit Daemon had gotten for her, hugging her body and giving her a different kind of appeal while making her confirm her guess about the scare waiting for her.

The bag on Daemon's back was a backpack, but seemingly one which was not prepared to hold things for protection or transportation.

It was a little flat, filled with harnesses clinking as the couple walked. The soldiers who had become more respectful after being scolded, kind even, also had similar bags in hands or on the back.

Evelyn could hear a conversation that the wind was breaking the secrecy of, one between two of the female soldiers in the group who were walking in front.

"He is handsome."

"Yes. Which force do you think he used to belong to?"
