Cough.
Cough.
Everyone forgot about the shameless Adams Family and turned to the direction where the cough was coming from.
When Faith, Arielle, and Liam saw Aurora opening her eyes, their eyes darkened as they were filled with hatred for the Adams.
"Are you fine? Sorry, I shouldn't have forced you to dance with me," Gerald said softly but his face was cold.
"What was the noise all about? I heard something," Aurora said in a whisper and a weak tone.
"What did you hear?" he asked.
"I heard someone mentioning Miss Hamilton, mistress, and a bastard," she answered then remained silent as something hit her.
Her calm eyes turned cold and she released a murderous aura which made a lot of people shiver as they felt cold and oppressed.
She started standing up with Gerald's help.
"If I am not mistaken, you must have been pretending once more, am I right?" she asked softly with her cold eyes on Luciana.
Luciana felt afraid and couldn't accept the fact that she had been frightened by Aurora.
"What? Have you become dumb after I woke up? Since you love acting pitiful so much and slandering my baby sister, why can't you continue in my presence?" Aurora asked once more when she saw the fear look on Luciana.
She started walking toward the Adams table as she couldn't accept anyone talking ill of her sister.
"So what if my sister cares about Liam more than she cares about me? If I myself aren't jealous then who do you think you are mentioning it? Or do you think that she is a pretendious person like you are? At least she is showing everyone what she is so worried about unlike you who inly knows how to pretend that you care about people but inwardly, you are cursing them while wishing that they were dead," Aurora said.
"Sister, how can you say that about me?" Luciana asked as she choked while crying.
"Stop with the crocodile tears. No one will be moved by yours. Also, don't you know how ugly and scary you look when you cry?" Aurora said causing people to chuckle, others snorted, and some were unable to prevent themselves from laughing while Luciana glared at Aurora.
"And am sure that you don't need a reminder that I only have one sister and what your real identity is," Aurora added making Luciana's face be ugly due to anger.
"I am warning you. Don't dare provoke me. Don't dare act pitiful and wronged making people think that my sister is in the wrong. If you dare hurt her or even touch a single strand of her hair, I will make sure you lose all of your hair in return, if you dare slap her, I will return it twice and so on," Aurora whispered coldly in Luciana's ears.
Luciana felt chills running down her spine when she heard Auora's words.
Five years ago, Aurora used to do everything she said but now, the same person was threatening it. Not just some baseless threats but they seemed real as she felt fear engraved in her bones when she heard Aurora's words.
Anyone could wonder what changed Aurora, but she, the cause of Aurora's change understood it better than anyone else thus she understood how much Aurora hated her since that day. From that day, they were meant to be enemies.
Luciana shook her head as she thought of that as she couldn't accept that. Well, she could but she wanted everyone to believe that she had a good and close relationship with her half-sisters.
She was used to getting other people's attention and sympathy thus she vowed to herself that she would use the publics view to ruin the sisters as she was afraid that they were back to take back what belongs to them and even worse, snatch the company from her.
To her, she was the only one who could inherit the company. She wanted to always step on the sisters and make them be at her mercies.
Although a normal person could understand that things had indeed changed and that if she dared to mess with them so much she might ruin her life as the sisters had the support of the Powells but sadly, Luciana seemed that she wasn't normal as she couldn't understand any of that.
Everyone's eyes were on them and they were curious of what Aurora had said to Luciana.
"I have never seen anyone who have so much guts to talk like this in front of the Powells and they aren't even talking about it," someone said in a low tone but a lot of people heard her.
"What you have said is true. If it was another person, he or she would have been thrown out of the banquet. After all, there have always done this in the past and they never give anyone face if they weren't from the same family," another chimed in.
"I heard that the eldest young master of the Powell is married but I never believed it. Now seen how he is treating the eldest daughter of the Adams, I can't help but wonder whether she is the wife," someone said causing people to be silent and look at Aurora who was seated with the Parkers.
Although the person who had spoken could be said that she spoke in a low tone, the Adams heard her as they were near the woman's table.
They were shocked but Luciana snorted as she didn't believe such a thing.
"Her? How can she be the Powell's eldest young madam? I know my sister better than any of you do," Luciana said but inwardly she couldn't help but wonder whether what the woman had said is true.
After all, she had seen how Gerald was treating Aurora.
"You? You always claim that you are close to your sisters and that you will terrible that they were snatched away but today we have seen for ourselves thus there is no need for you to keep pretending here," a young lady retorted as she had always hated Luciana for always pretended to be weak to gain everyones favor.
Today seen how much Luciana had suffered, she was very satisfied.
"What do you know? Are you close to my sisters so that you can say that I am lying? Furthermore, it isn't a secret that my sisters were abroad," Luciana replied making everyone remain silent as everyone knew of this matter.
"Anyways even though that she isn't familiar or related with the Powells can you deny that she is very close to miss Parker? Miss Parker has been managing a company and it has risen to the top unlike some people who can't do anything," the lady said innocently.
Her words were sharp and sarcastic and everyone knew who she was talking about.
"What's there to be proud of managing a company that isn't hers? The boss behind her will surely take over and Faith will run home running," Faith said mockingly.
She had always hated Faith and the two never got along thus she couldn't wait to see Faith losing her seat.
"Well, we will see whether you will be able to see that day or you are the one who will be crying that time," another said as she sensed something from how the Powells and the Parkers were treating the Adams sisters.
"Attention," someone on the stage said through the microphone making everyone turn their attention to him.
"Although today can be regarded as the day when my brother is taking office, we have a very special guests. The Dawn Peach Company's president is amongst us," he said causing stir in the hall.
"Seems Faith's good days have come to an end," Luciana said with a smirk but the ladies around her rolled their eyes.
"Sorry but we can't say their name. I have another thing to say and this is important. Most people come here with their daughters hoping that they will succeed in getting my brother's attention. Am afraid that you will all be disappointed as I have a very beautiful and talented sister-in-law and yes, she is also in our midst."
