Chapitre 71: Chapter 14: Part 4 - Sarah the Streamer is kind cute
"Hello?" Sarah answered the phone within a few rings.
"Hi…I umm…I know it's your off day, so I just wanted to check in on you" I said, trying to remain calm.
"Oh, that is so sweet, thank you, I'm fine" Sarah replied.
"Are you working on anything?" I asked her, wondering if she would admit to streaming.
"Yeah umm… I'm trying to get some inspiration by talking to some…friends online, and we are umm….discussing options, about how to help me get back into drawing that is," Sarah replied, sounding kind of nervous.
"Oh? Online friends? You never mentioned anyone that you know anyone online before" I asked her.
"Well, I've been friends with them for a long time, so I never thought to mention them. Also, we only talk on and off on my off days so, it's not much to report" She said, purposefully avoiding any mention of where she was online and what kind of relationship she had with these friends.
"Well, maybe you should introduce me to these friends of yours" I suggested.
"Ahhh….I don't think so…I mean you said we aren't friends so…how would I introduce you? As my landlord? That might be too awkward" Sarah explained.
I felt my face grow hot again. ' Yeah after all you said about me, it would be pretty awkward, to say the least' is what I wanted to say to her, but I just said " Ah, ok no problem" instead.
"Ok well, you probably need to get back to work and I probably should carry on working on my search for inspiration" Sarah said, laughing nervously as she said it.
"Right ok, I'll see you later at home, bye" I replied and she said bye in return.
After she hung up, the screen remained the same for about five minutes, and then Sarah appeared again.
"Sorry I had to go so abruptly, my landlord just called me, I had to take the call," Sarah said as she picked up her almost finished glass of orange juice and took a sip.
Well that confirmed it, Sarah was definitely Pink Dreamer, and she was live, right now, streaming. She was 100% talking about me, behind my back, to a bunch of strangers online. Could this situation get any more awkward?
"Why is your landlord calling you in the middle of the day?" I typed into chat using the dummy account. I had called myself CatChef67 as a reference to the book I made her read yesterday and wondered if she would see my comment.
"CatChef67, oh you're a first-time chatter! Thank you for popping in. The thing is... I don't mind, I imagine that she's just checking up on me because she's concerned I might have burnt the house down. I do tend to leave a mess. Besides, my landlord is so hot, they can call me any time of the day, and I'd pick up" Sarah grinned
" MaiseBell says 'Don't you know Pinkie is hot for her landlord?' Ok, Ok MaiseBell, I wouldn't say I'm hot for my landlord, I'd say I'm very invested in them, as they have invested a lot of time and money into me, and I aim to pay them back one day. This is why I stream on the off days I don't work. One day I aim to surprise them with a big wade of cash, and completely clear all of my debt" Sarah explained.
"But if that happens, won't that mean Pinkie needs to move out?" I typed into chat.
"Firstly, MaiseBell look what you've done, now the newcomer is also calling me Pinkie. And secondly, I don't have anywhere else to stay so…I don't think I'd move out immediately, but yeah once I find a place, I eventually would. I think my landlord deserves her personal space back." Sarah explained.
" CatChef67, if you're so concerned, maybe offer her a place to stay, Pinkie has a thing for chefs, maybe you might be her type," another user called AmbletonPies said in a chat with a bunch of "LOL" emojis.
I watched as Sarah turned bright red and clamped a hand over her mouth, muffling what was a gasp.
"Ambleton you hold your tongue. Don't go around freely giving out all my weaknesses to newbies just like that! How could you?" She said and laughed, shaking her head.
" Oh really? Well DM me anytime, and I'll be more than happy to give you a place to sleep if you can make it out here to Hokkaido" I typed, wanting to play along but also distance myself a bit from Sarah's general location to make myself less conspicuous.
"Hokkaido? I would love to go there, I'll take you up on that offer if the time comes that I am looking for a temporary place to stay" Sarah said, beaming up at the webcam.
Looking at her being so open and trusting made my heart melt. I felt this desire to just want to pat her on the head, or give her a treat. Something, anything.
