Chapitre 9: 09 - [Dog And Hound]

Now when Abel said pain could not be registered in his brain, that wasn't really the truth.

He could feel pain, physical pain. No way the Devil would take away his ability to feel pain, right? That'd be too nice of him.

But after the second millenium or so, pain just became something that could be completely ignored by the marked man, as there was no worry of his death.

If he was to actually die, he'd accept it graciously and come back as an angel to bless the bloodline of that person who killed him.

Unfortunately, he couldn't. But that's not really the case right now.

While his True Body can just come back after a few hours of physical reconstruction, this Heroic Spirit clone wouldn't be the same.

The Counter Force had refused for his Heroic Spirits to inherit his ability to respawn, and unlike Cain who's legend was so tied with his immortal life, his wasn't.

In fact, being the literally first human to ever die, Abel was extremely susceptible to death's influence.

So right now, he was at lady death's door, and unlike most people, the marked man wasn't keen on romancing her any time soon.

Death was a massive harlot, everyone wants to court her, he'd rather court life if he had the chance.

His cape slapped his ass in annoyance to that statement.

"Why the long face? I'm not even talking about you." Abel said to the air as his cape shuddered again.

"Being a Grim Reaper equivalent doesn't make you death herself, stop whining." He stated as the cape shuddered before calming down.

Man, women are so weird. One moment, they like being called names, and the next, they're trying to confiscate your weapons of mass destruction because of it...

Abel stopped as he got close to a puddle of water, his eyes gazing to the watery surface.

There was no reflection of him, yet his shadow fell over the pond.

He touched his own face with a hand, stopping as he felt the sharp claws on his fingers.

He looked at it for a while.

Abel sighed as he continued walking, trying to put his hands inside his pockets only to realize that the pants he stole from Shirou were too torn apart for that to even be possible.

He quickly abandoned it and conjured the cloth that came with his summoning.

It felt quite archaic and brought a lot of memories...one of the reasons Abel didn't like being summoned as a Saber was that in this class, he wore the same clothes as when he first died.

Which was rather odd considering he didn't even possess Azi Dahaka at that point, but the Throne of Heroes always liked being weird.

"Should I just switch to Berserker...?" Abel wondered out loud as he touched his bleeding abdomen.

His regeneration was strongest in that class, predictably so.

[Class Change] was a skill very few in the Throne of Heroes possessed. Indeed, to his knowledge, only Abel himself, his father, some blue Indian guy, and Sun Wukong had it.

Cain would probably have it too were it not for that fact that he was very much like Merlin or Scathach, not actually a Heroic Spirit and thus didn't have multiple versions of himself aside from the odd deity that decided he was a good vessel for some reason.

Abel was unique in that aspect, not being dead, yet having Heroic Spirit clones, this Saber being one of them.

"It's not worth it you say?" He considered the cape's words, well, it wasn't really the cape, but the person on the other side.

"Hmm, that's true. I should get around to saving my human Master then." Abel muttered to himself.

Shirou was an interesting human, aside from the Scabbard of Excalibur being inside of him for some odd reason, he had an interesting disposition.

One had to keep in mind, it had only been like a few hours since the summoning of Saber, and yet, Shirou had adapted quite well.

Actually, not that well, but he was human, so it excusable.

And there was also the fact that Archer was a future version of him...not bad, if he manages to get that strong in this pathetic era without being a part of some ancient dynasty, then there must be something special to him, at least, Abel thought so.

But it is still was too early to make conclusions regarding his character, perhaps he was a bitch that didn't possess the indomitable spirit, or maybe he was too human...

"I should try to kill that Rin girl again, I wonder how he'd react..." He muttered as he held a hand out, intending to summon and call forth Azi Dahaka.

But on this instance, it wasn't the sword that was pulled towards him, but it was him who was pulled to the sword.

-BAAM!

The sound barrier broke as the Abel's body was launched out of the forest in mind-breaking speeds.

Abel's field of vision blurred as his the violent air crashed against his flying form, but not an instance did his body slow down.

-CRASH!

A human-shaped hole was left on one of the wall of Fuyuki Church as Abel crashed through with dramatic effect, the brick rubble exploding into the surroundings as a hand caught the hilt of his draconic blade.

With a flip forward, he repositioned the sword and sliced down with all of his strength.

Gae Bolg always hits its target so as long as the wielder intents to slay the oppenent.

However, in this instance, the blood-red spear returned to the Irish warrior's grasp as he abandoned the fruitless task of trying to kill Shirou.

His life was more important at the moment as Gae Bolg proved to be the only thing capable of withstanding a full-on strike from the Dragon blade in its full capacity.

-SHATTER!

Even so, the spear of Cu Chulainn could not possibly block the might of an [EX] rank Noble Phantasm wielded by someone who currently possessed [EX] rank Strength.

Life is just a game of numbers, that's why math is so important, because the secret to life is complicated bullshit with simple answers.

A wild dog is stronger than a chained-up guard hound.

Cu Chulainn's knees shattered upon the impact as the concrete floor below him cracked as if it was mere glass. The red glow of Gae Bolg could not be controlled as it vibrated in the Irishman's hands.

"Damn..." That's all Cu Chulainn said as he felt and ignored his pain.

Shirou collapsed on to his knees as he watched on from the side, his hand gripping his chest in phantom pain as he felt an intense agony gripping his very soul.

Rin quickly rushed to him as EMIYA took the opportunity to prepare an attack at the Irishman, now no longer having to actively protect his Master from the surrounding bullshit.

"You are a damn freak, Faoladh." Cu Chulainn cursed under his breath as Abel didn't respond, merely giving a smile.

He then sidestepped and spun around as Azi Dahaka was swung in the opposite direction.

"Huh!?" EMIYA stopped as the sword just barely went passed him, his [Mind's Eye] saving his head from a clean cut.

"Evacuate the humans." Abel stated with a calm voice, one that didn't suit him, "Yourself and Rin Tohsaka, evacuate them. I will join you later."

Archer paused as he considered the Saber's words, he hesitated but after seeing the confidence in the marked man's eyes, relented.

Before Rin could even blink, the Archer in red picked her up like a sack of potatoes and dragged his past self away as they slipped into the shadow, the moan and groan of the Tohsaka girl evident to everyone's ears.

"Why'd you do that?" Cu Chulainn asked as he regained his bearing, gripping onto Gae Bolg as he took a step back.

"Didn't I say not to call me Faoladh, you foolish ingrate?" Abel chastized with an emotionless glare, "I am not a Werewolf."

Cu Chulainn just chuckled at this statement as he brushed away the blood on his chin, "You look the part, though."

Abel frowned but couldn't respond.

"I'm guessing you're not going to kill me like last time...?" Cu Chulainn asked, "I mean, I still have my liver and both of my balls right now." He joked with a flat face.

"Kirei Kotomine is your Master too?" Abel got straight to the point.

"...Not by choice, certainly." The Irishman shrugged.

"Kill him."

"I would if I could, but..."

"You can now, do it." Abel smirked as he said that, surprising the Lancer.

"You mean...?"

"King Gilgamesh has a lot of treasures, and there's no shortage of artifacts that can do it." Abel smiled, "You owe me a favour, regarding your new Master...I'll let you pick later."

"Understood, chief. I'll hang his head by your window once I'm done." Cu Chulainn said with a lighthearted chuckle as turned back.

"Kill the kids in ths basement first."

"Sure, not a problem."

And with that completed, Abel immediately died and withered away into ashes.
