Moon felt like she was dying. No, she was so useless it would have been better to kill herself at that point. Yep. Her host planet had almost died - way too close for her comfort. Venus was too unpredictable - if her host planet died, she would have no choice but to become a moon for another planet. Which would probably be Venus. Which was also probably why he was out for Terra's head in the first place. If Terra had remembered that she was a planet, or had her powers, she would have easily whopped Venus in a fight, because Venues was trapped on her planet. But she didn't. She didn't even remember Moon.
"...Moon?" came a gentle voice, and Moon snapped to her senses. She had been pouring tea for Terra, but she had gotten a bit lost in reminiscing, and now the tea had filled the mug to the brim and was flowing over.
"Ah. Sorry. Can you hand me another cup? I'll just take this one." Moon said. How stupid she was. Terra, who had learned where the mugs were by watching Moon the first time, handed her a new cup. This time, Moon filled a normal amount of tea into it, handed it to Terra, and took her cup, holding it gingerly to prevent any further spills.
"Ah, I wanted to talk to you about something…" Terra said, leaning against the counter and taking a small, hesitant sip of her tea. Moon didn't look up from hers, but said, "What is it?"
"That person you were screaming at?"
"Mhm."
"He's my ex."
Moon choked on her tea. Then she spat it out all over the table. Then she pressed on the handle of the mug so hard it snapped in half.
Dang, girl. Chill. Mugs are expensive.
Terra was now staring at her, as Moon tried (and failed) to hide her shock. Regaining her senses a bit, Moon dabbed at the corners of her mouth with a napkin and spread some more over the table.
"Terra, when did this happen?"
Terra flinched.
"W-well, I - I used to date him, and he always said his name was Mosa, but after I found out he was lying to me about a lot of things, I tried to get away…"
Mosa. Short for Morning Star - one of Venus's favorite nicknames. Moon sighed. How stupid she had been, not to notice - she had always been a bit more loose with watching Terra when Venus was gone - she should have considered where Venus was going. This whole disaster could have been prevented. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Then she realized Terra was looking at her, seemingly concerned and anxious about what Moon would think.
The original Terra would have never cared about what Moon thought, not that much at least. Even though their faces were undeniably the same, and they were undeniably two different people, Moon couldn't help but compare them. Then she shooed away her thoughts and smiled warmly.
"Thank you for telling me, Terra. I'm sorry. It must have been hard for you."
Terra smiled, relieved, and took another sip of her tea.
"It wasn't. I have you now, after all."
Moon almost choked on her tea a second time. What the heck? This easy? Terra was already starting to like her?
No. It wasn't possible. Not only was it downright strange, but she had only seen Terra a handful of times, even if she had left memorable impressions on all of them.
Which meant…
Terra had her reasons for pretending to like Moon.
Moon slowly turned to Terra, who was humming while blowing on her tea. Then, for a minute, she glanced up, and Moon thought she saw a flash of what Terra would usually look like. Her hazel eyes were studying Moon, with a gaze of superiority and elegance. Quite a dangerous gaze. Then she looked down again, and that gaze disappeared with the water vapor that was drifting out of the mug.
Moon sat back in her chair and tried not to smile.
Things were interesting now.
