Chapitre 107: The Only Reason We Were Defeated, Part 2

"Fire without fear; we have millions of rounds waiting to be fired!" Merle shouted from atop the tank as he wielded a heavy machine gun.

As the commander of this mission, Merle was on the front line, leading his troops in a desperate battle against the walkers. The horde of creatures emerging from the buildings was different this time; they were faster and more aggressive, making the fight even more intense and challenging.

The battle unfolded in an urban area with narrow streets and ruined buildings. The walkers moved nimbly among the debris, launching themselves at the soldiers with unusual ferocity. Merle knew they couldn't afford a single mistake; they had to stay constantly alert and respond with precision.

"Maintain formation and don't separate!" Merle ordered his men, "Aim for the head; it's the only way to neutralize them completely; never forget that."

Gunfire echoed in the air as the soldiers fired bursts of bullets at the walkers. Each shot had to be accurate, as a single wound was not enough to stop these creatures. Heads exploded one after another, yet the walkers kept advancing.

Seeing that the front line was having complications, Merle moved agilely among his men, giving instructions and encouraging them to keep going. "Focus on their weak point; aim for the head, you useless idiots."

The soldiers supported each other, covering one another as they advanced through the streets. They used their training and skills to move quickly and effectively, always seeking a vantage point from which to fire.

But at that moment, a significant number of monkeys flew from a pile of debris and soon pounced on some soldiers, biting them in the neck.

Merle's calm eyes widened in shock as he shouted, "Shit, monkeys?"

"Fire!"

Boom!

At that moment, the tank blasted the pile of debris without regard for the distance.

In this critical moment, a horde of walkers attacked from multiple sides. Merle ordered his men to group together and form a defensive circle. "Stay calm! Don't let the walkers surround you. Shoot and maintain formation."

Roar!

At the same time, a huge gorilla struck an armored vehicle.

"I'll take care of this!" Merle grabbed a rocket launcher and, without hesitation, pulled the trigger to take down the enormous gorilla.

Boom!

"Damn it!"

T-Dog, who was driving the tank, couldn't help but curse as he saw the gorilla blown into more than a thousand pieces.

"Do you think it's your brother?" Merle asked in a sarcastic tone.

"Go to hell!"

"More are coming, fire!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gunfire erupted in all directions as the soldiers defended themselves, fear in their eyes as they saw those monkeys turned into walkers. The normal walkers fell one after another, but their numbers seemed endless. Merle quickly assessed the situation and ordered a strategic retreat to a more open area.

"Retreat to the central plaza! There we'll have a better field of view and can surround them," Merle announced. His men followed his instructions, retreating in formation, shooting, and advancing toward the central plaza.

Once in the plaza, the soldiers regrouped and went on the offensive again. Merle spotted a ruined building from which the walkers seemed to be emanating. "That's their origin point! I want it blown to pieces."

Merle directed his unit toward the building, giving precise instructions on how to assault the structure and secure it. The soldiers advanced cautiously, shooting and throwing grenades to eliminate the walkers in their path.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Finally, they managed to secure the building, and the walkers stopped coming out. The horde had been halted. Merle sighed in relief, knowing they had won an important battle on the front line.

"Excellent work, soldiers," Merle praised his unit, which had been reduced to two-thirds. "We've held out; we need to report the monkey situation."

...

As the Unification soldiers advanced through the streets on their mission to eliminate the walkers, they found themselves facing an abandoned metro station. However, something seemed to be brewing within the subterranean depths.

Suddenly, the station doors swung open wide, revealing a terrifying sight. From the shadows emerged walkers of colossal dimensions, much larger and more powerful than those they had faced before. These grotesque monsters seemed to have evolved in the darkness of the metro.

Chaos erupted in an instant. The soldiers barely had time to react when one of the larger walkers lunged at one of them, tearing his body in half with its superhuman strength. Screams of horror and rage filled the air.

However, the soldiers quickly recovered from the shocking scene and took action. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, one of the soldiers grabbed a grenade launcher and aimed at the giant walkers that continued to emerge from the metro station.

"Aim for the big walkers! Fire everything you've got!" Ordered the group's captain, Castro, his voice filled with a fierce will to ensure his soldiers didn't give up.

The deafening roar of the grenade launchers filled the air. Powerful explosions shook the ground as the projectiles hit the giant walkers. The explosions momentarily halted the advance of these massive creatures, but their resilience and regeneration were notable.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The soldiers stood firm, firing bursts of bullets and throwing grenades with precision and determination. Each explosion sent fragments of flesh and bone flying in all directions, but the giant walkers kept advancing relentlessly.

The fight turned into a brutal struggle, with the soldiers using all their tactical skills and weaponry to contain the threat. Some soldiers dived to the ground, shooting from safer positions, while others ran to the flanks of the giant walkers to attack from different angles.

Close combat was particularly dangerous, as the giant walkers possessed immense strength and almost superhuman endurance.

The confrontation dragged on, a frantic battle between life and death. Everything ended only when Apache helicopters arrived and eliminated all the walkers without any trouble.
