When the most complaining issues had been dealt with, Dominic knew it was time to move. Not only had he gained the support of high-ranking soldiers and more than a full squadron, but Stuart was also in a position to assist him as soon as he gave the order.
The time they had been spending moving to prevent bombings had shortened after the immense walker hordes complicated things. It wasn't the time for Dominic to teach them tactics on how to evade, eliminate, or simply not fear being in the presence of one.
All of this was also because Dominic had indeed noticed from the start that these walkers were different from the ones his father had shown him. Initially, he wouldn't have imagined he would be in a world where Rick was a cop, there would be walkers later on, and people would launch nuclear bombs intending to wipe out the human race.
The reason he knew he was in this world was that he recognized Madison Clark, Nick, Alicia, and Travis, who were important characters in their own stories separate from Rick and his group.
Dominic certainly knew enough about this world to fear the CRM and be cautious of what a madman could do to extinguish it. That's why he initially prepared for it, but from that point on, things started changing when he noticed he had more time than usual.
It's true that there were certain things very different from the familiar story, but if he ignored that for now, his path was more than clear.
But right now, there is no reason to delay taking control of this base anymore. Now that all his initial plans were completed, it was time to begin. "The day has come, gentlemen; let's start taking full control of the base. If anyone opposes, don't forget to kill them; it's either us or them."
Everyone in front of Dominic agreed with this. Many of them disagreed with unjustified massacres, mistreatment of survivors, and unclear communication with civilians.
The soldiers in this world were humans; Dominic now knew perfectly why, in the original story, they lost to the walkers, and that was because many of the military went running for their families.
"The first plan is to go directly to the center to take control of the direction of this place and thus wrest control from the mayors." Dominic wouldn't hesitate to remove anyone who was a problem for him.
"Are you going to kill him?" Cole asked among everyone present.
No one cared about Mayor Mayor's fate because he had been a complete idiot with them. His extreme orders had crossed what they could allow, so there wasn't much loyalty toward him.
Dominic knew this, but he shouldn't expose all his thoughts, so he said, "We won't be heartless men; of course, we won't harm him if he backs off without resistance. Who would I be to take the life of a man who has surrendered?"
"So, you mean..."
Sergeant Castro clarified: "The orders are clear; eliminate anyone who exposes themselves against the original orders. If they pose a problem, we must eliminate them; if they're not an obstacle, there's no need to attack."
Díaz looked at Dominic and said, "Excuse my boldness, but if we leave someone like Mayors alive, he could cause us problems later on."
"I'll take care of it," said Dominic, who knew this better than anyone.
As soon as the orders were given, all the soldiers stationed in the community gathered in military vehicles and prepared to leave, leaving only a small group of military personnel behind.
Daniel approached Dominic and asked, "Will I be able to see my wife?"
"You will; she's fine, so you don't have to worry," said Dominic, adjusting a belt carrying various equipment.
Daniel nodded, knowing that his role was about to start getting into action, so he also boarded the military vehicle.
...
In the distance, everyone watched as the military vehicles drove away, and Travis, who was the most nervous of all, asked, "Where are the military going?"
"I don't know, but this isn't good." Nick said.
Nick looked at his mother and said, "Everything will be fine; they're probably just going to kill more of those things."
"They're not going to kill walkers." Alicia, who had seen Dominic leave, knew that everything was about to begin.
Travis looked at Alicia and asked, "Do you know something we don't?"
Madison, with a slightly stern expression, approached her daughter and said, "If you know something, you should say it, Alicia; you shouldn't hide things from us."
Alicia looked at her mother and, after a while, said, "Dominic is about to save us all; that's the only thing we need to keep in mind."
