Chapter 566: The Gathering of the Four Archangels

Shards scattered, glistening, reflecting the ceaselessly rolling and gathering lightning in the sky above. Purple veins extended across each fragment.

Gaard II calmly observed the scene before him. Only after confirming that there were no more high-dimensional overseers nearby did he safely put away the Distant Celebratory Feast, an artifact forbidden from public knowledge. The contents recorded on it were divine taboos.

Such an item should have been destroyed by the gods, yet the great Lord of Storms chose to leave it here, within the church.

He never dared to speculate what kind of story was recorded within, only knowing that this artifact possessed power comparable to a god's descent.

Only in a life-and-death situation would he consider using this artifact.

As Gaard II slowly put away the Distant Celebratory Feast and the Never-Ending Theater 0-32, the shattered fragments on the ground began to tremble slightly.

Ever vigilant, Gaard II gave a deep shout, and the sky immediately rained down countless purple lightning bolts, completely covering the area. He quickly retrieved the two artifacts and retreated into the church.

The church doors closed tightly. Gaard II and the other Storm followers hiding within could only observe the outside through the windows.

Under the baptism of lightning, the fragments on the ground, which were about to gather, were shattered again, turning to ashes with no remaining power.

Gaard II still did not dare to relax. He began to summon the Storm followers in the prayer hall to fervently pray to their god, the great Lord of Storms.

"How many people can a church shelter?"

A light, ghostly voice seeped through the gaps in the church, causing many praying Storm followers to tremble, their prayers growing louder and more urgent.

Gaard II did not respond, instead feeling a sense of relief.

From that single sentence, he could roughly gauge the current state of the high-dimensional overseer. Though not completely dead, his power was severely depleted. In his current state, he could not break through the church's defenses.

This was the earthly divine kingdom of the Storm, where some of the Lord's power remained, enough to hold until the Storm descended upon the world.

Gaard II's guess was correct. The high-dimensional overseer sat alone outside the church. Though his face was not pale, he was powerless against the church protected by the Lord of Storms.

In that ancient story, he had truly experienced the fate of the ancient Sun God.

The experience was unpleasant, but he had not completely perished, just as the ancient Sun God had not.

Thus, he survived.

"Lord of Storms, still hesitating?" The high-dimensional overseer looked to the sky, his face showing mockery.

It had been a while since he ascended the Abyss of Storms and sealed the divine kingdom of the Lord of Storms. The Lord must have already broken free and could descend at will, yet he had taken no action.

"Do you hear the distant cannon fire? That is the finale played for you."

The sky remained shrouded in dark clouds, and the high-dimensional overseer's words could not penetrate them to reach the gates of the divine kingdom.

However, they seeped through the gaps into the church, reaching the ears and souls of the Storm followers.

"Cowardly Lord of Storms, where is the courage you once had to betray and challenge the ancient Sun God? Has it completely faded with time?"

The high-dimensional overseer found a suitable place, the tallest bell tower near the church, and began to narrate stories of ancient times.

Knowledge is toxic; it can be a medium of pollution, and language is a good way to spread it.

Every word of the high-dimensional overseer precisely reached the ears of all Storm followers in the Abyss of Storms. Even those who covered their ears could not block out the blasphemous words.

They trembled in fear and pain, kneeling on the ground, praying for salvation from their faith, the Lord of Storms.

Unfortunately, the Lord of Storms did not appear.

In the church's prayer hall, Gaard II also heard the blasphemous words clearly. He immediately denounced them as the blasphemous words of heretics, vile and filthy.

But this was the pollution from an old god, even if it was just an avatar. The mental pollution it could bring was beyond imagination.

Gaard II witnessed a Storm follower's head explode, unable to reconcile their firm faith with the heretical words, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere.

The shocking scene terrified the other faithful followers, who trembled but tried to calm themselves.

"Your Holiness, we shouldn't just hide here. We would rather sacrifice our lives than let heretical words spread unchecked in the divine kingdom of our Lord."

Several radical bishops expressed their determination not to fear death.

They were the backbone of the Storm Church. Gaard II believed in their devotion to the gods, but devotion did not necessarily require choosing death.

"This is also a test." Gaard II suppressed their desire to go out, urging them to strengthen their faith and resist the pervasive heretical words.

"We must not disappoint the Lord." Gaard II said, sitting cross-legged on the ground and beginning to recite classic scriptures of the Storm Church, leading the other followers in chanting.

Soon, the devout chanting spread throughout the Abyss of Storms, making the gathering storm in the sky even more awe-inspiring.

"Devout followers..." The high-dimensional overseer sneered, thinking of another amusing idea.

The Abyss of Storms was not just a single church.

The Storm Church, which ruled the sea, ultimately perished in flames, a fitting end.

Soon, a raging fire started in a corner of the Abyss of Storms, quickly spreading to most of the area with the high-dimensional overseer's encouragement.

The towering flames were visible even to the warring sides on Passu Island.

The pirates shouted that the Abyss of Storms' home base was being burned to ashes.

The Storm Church fell into panic and chaos.

Fortunately, the gathering dark clouds in the sky, after a bout of lightning and thunder, poured down heavy rain, extinguishing the spreading fire.

At the same time, the entire mass of dark clouds began to rotate in one direction, with lightning occasionally flashing within. The center area was gradually emptied, revealing a large vacuum.

The Lord of Storms descended once more!

With the divine descent, the Storm Church's followers fought more bravely, repelling wave after wave of pirate attacks, reversing the battle's momentum.

As the commander of the Star Sea Kingdom, Gadria saw this and quickly ordered the fleet to withdraw from the battlefield and leave Passu Island.

The queen had told her that if the Lord of Storms did not descend, they should push forward and flatten the Abyss of Storms.

If the Lord of Storms descended, they should leave the battlefield and not engage.

In the Abyss of Storms, the high-dimensional overseer calmly watched the commotion caused by the Lord of Storms.

He had done all this to force the Lord of Storms to descend.

After all, without the Lord's appearance, how could he slay a god?

As for the sea war, it was just a wave he had stirred up.

With the Lord of Storms' descent, the closed doors of the Storm Church opened automatically. Gaard II led the surviving followers out to greet him.

The Lord of Storms was shrouded in a storm and lightning, making it impossible to see his true form.

His gaze did not linger on the kneeling followers but focused on the church before looking at the high-dimensional overseer.

He did not speak. With a single glance, the entire sea began to boil. The storm and lightning around the Abyss of Storms raised huge waves, enveloping the entire area.

At the same time, the spreading lightning fell like rain on the pirates' camp, destroying their defenses with divine power and healing the wounds of his followers.

"Using divine power to forcibly change a mortal battle, how shameless and familiar."

A voice of undisguised mockery came, not from the high-dimensional overseer but from a young, handsome man in blood-stained black armor, with flamboyant red hair and a banner-like mark on his forehead.

The Lord of Storms immediately recognized him as Medici, the Red Angel of War.

Beside him was a tall, slender figure with long silver hair reaching his back, wearing a simple linen robe and radiating overlapping wings of light.

The Angel of Fate, Ouroboros.

"What a lively scene."

Amon, who had quietly appeared atop the church, looked down at the Lord of Storms.

Behind them, other hidden gazes were observing the scene.
