Chapitre 41: She is my daughter
Qing Mian was surprised by what was happening in the living room. She didn't know Ding Xian still dared to scold her mother after what her father said the other day. She could hear her loud voice from the stairs.
"Zhang Qin, do you think you can act anyhow just because brother-in-law supported you the other day. Don't be to happy because you guys are just leaving this house for us and doesn't that mean we won?", Ding Xian said angrily.
"Ding Xian, do you think I don't dare to talk back at you? Do you still think I am the same as before?", Zhang Qin asked calmly.
"You've been like this ever since that girl moved in", she sneered.
"Why drag a little kid into the matter! Ding Xian, aren't you shameless!?", Zhang Qin scoffed at her.
"Zhang Qin, you b*tch. You dare to call me shameless and even scoffed at me? Call me a bastard if I don't deal with you today!", Ding Xian shouted.
Zhang Qin couldn't even be bothered with her and sat down.
"Zhang Qin, you have guts!", she screamed.
Ding Xian was so angry that her face distorted. She got angrier when Zhang Qin sat calmly instead of fighting back.
"Fight back if you can!", Ding Xian said and grabbed Zhang Qin's hair.
Zhang Qin was caught off guard and didn't even know when Ding Xian slapped her. Ding Xian was about to slap her again when someone held her hand and pushed her away.
"Mum, are you okay?", Qing Mian asked.
"Mianmian, I thought you fell asleep already", Zhang Qin said pitifully.
"Mum, what did you say about getting stronger?", Qing Mian asked.
"Mum is sorry. I didn't know she would do that, I was caught off guard", she said.
Ding Xian was so angry, she stood up and slapped Qing Mian twice.
"You worthless child! How dare you push me away? Do you think a country bumpkin like you have the right to interfere when elders are talking? I can see you weren't taught properly at the orphanage, Uncultured brat", she spat out angrily.
Qing Mian was so calm and acted like she didn't head what she said but Zhang Qin won't allow anyone to talk to her daughter like that.
"Ding Xian!", she shouted angrily.
"You shouted at me because of a girl that isn't part of our family?", Ding Xian sneered.
"She is my daughter", Zhang Qin said.
"Don't make me laugh. You're definitely the only one that can adopt an uncultured country bumpkin and call her your daughter", Ding Xian said.
"There's nothing good to expect from you. Your life is so pitiful, you lost your daughter at a young age and your family also fell from glory. I don't know why brother-in-law still wants you when there are many rich young ladies out there. You're nothing but a pitiful low life actress", Ding Xian continued.
"And you even dared to talk about the engagement with the Lu family, what right does a worthless girl have to enter the Lu family?", she laughed loudly.
"Ding Xian! You're going too far", Zhang Qin was very angry.
"Shut up. It isn't time for you to talk", she cut her off.
"Mum", Qing Mian patted her back.
Qing Mian looked at Ding Xian and smirked. She really didn't want any trouble with Ding Xian but it wasn't the case anymore.
"Aunt", she said softly.
"I'm not your aunt?", she shouted back at her.
"Don't you think you're going against your attitude as a socialist by doing all this? Do you also think you can continue trampling on us just because we decided not to talk?", she said slowly.
Ding Xian and Zhang Qin were surprised.
"Don't you feel embarrassed when you shout and mum doesn't even budge? You said she's pitiful but aren't you even more pitiful? A socialist with no etiquette", Qing Mian continued.
"My mother is always so calm but like making your presence known and it's even the same as your daughter, nobody will think you're mute if you don't talk and it's obvious from your behaviour that you're jealous of mum. Do you think your daughter or her fiancee is priceless? I didn't want to talk but how could you call my mum low life when you don't even have a proper job", Qing Mian said calmly.
"You're really uncultured!", Ding Xian was already shaking with anger.
"I admit I am but that doesn't make you any better...", Qing Mian said.
"You're worse than an uncultured person", Zhang Qin said because she knew that was the next thing Qing Mian wanted to say.
Ding Xian was very embarrassed and wanted to leave but...
"Don't even think about leaving", an angry voice came from behind the door.
Ding Xian almost fell when she heard the voice.
