Flapping my wings, I beelined for the black constructs.

Screech!!!

They all opened their mouths in unison and let out deafening screeches, aimed right at me.

This seemed to be their main mode of attack – aimed at damaging one's eardrums and causing disorientation.

A shame for them that as my ears were technically not actually ears but just an appearance aesthetic as every particle of my being could hear and see, but I still had to dodge.

Gliding to the side, I was barely able to narrowly escape impaling myself on the ice spikes.

A sonic wave like that contained energy and I did not want to absorb too much of it.

The echoes still reached me though but the amount of energy they fed me was still within acceptable limits.

With another flap of my wings, I covered more distance and now I had come close enough to directly attack them.

Slice! Slice! Slice! Slice!
