Chapitre 34: Trust Me

Fiona let out a deep sigh as she watched Harriet storm out of the office, the door slamming shut behind her. She couldn't blame Harriet for her anger and hurt. Fiona knew she had wronged her, and her conscience was heavy with guilt.

As she reflected on their confrontation, Fiona realized she had been rude and defensive, trying to justify her actions. Although she had lost her cool with Harriet and had talked rudely to her, she knew she had wronged her and Harriet wasn't wrong to react the way she had reacted.

She had lied and deceived her, pretending to be someone she wasn't. The weight of her dishonesty crushed her.

Fiona thought about that night at Harriet's house and how Harriet had taken extra care of her, showing her kindness and acceptance.

She seemed to have genuinely liked her, and it wouldn't have mattered if she wasn't from an affluent family. But she had to go and ruin it by perpetuating a lie concocted by Liam.
