Chapitre 66: Unexpected Guest, Hiruzen ‘Solving’ the Problem
On the next day, Yuta was refreshed after a good night's rest without the need to be worried by any sudden attack, he went to the Hokage Tower and soon met with Itachi and Hikari.
They went it and reported their mission to the receptionist in the mission hall, after Itachi said that they dealt with three Chunins and one Jonin from Iwagakure the commotion started among the present shinobi, as that was highly unbelievable outcome for three fresh Chunin that are still eight years old to encounter such strong opponents on their B-rank mission and not only survive but also kill all the enemies.
But soon after that when Itachi presented the sealing scrolls with the Iwa shinobi bodies and the bodies were unsealed and checked on the spot, it was clear that the team-two doesn't lie and they did eliminate those Iwa shinobi, that was unprecedented and quite the accomplishment for the fresh Chunins.
The receptionist and the many shinobi present praised Itachi and his team a lot, the mission was elevated to the A-rank, and they were paid 400k ryo for the mission and also it happened that Keisuke, the Iwa Jonin they killed, was in the bingo books of the land of fire, and his bounty was 2.5 million ryo, and the receptionist said that they will receive the bounty later, after the village will process everything.
The team received the news about the huge bounty indifferently, it seems that none of them cared much about money at that point.
'I'm getting rich, huh.' Yuta thought while they were leaving the Hokage Tower, 'But on what things do I even spend those money I wonder, it's not like I even need the money, the living expenses with a good food, fuinjutsu materials, kunais and shurikens, new clothes and mesh armor, all of that costs like 20-40k ryo a month if I buy everything of the best quality as much as I want.
Now that I have more than a million it will become just a meaningless number in my bank account at that point… There are some expensive tools that I can spend this amount on, like chakra metal weapons, but I don't really need those. Maybe I should buy a house, I don't know. Or start buying explosive tags instead of drawing them on my own with shadow clones, then my shadow clones will have more time on something more useful… No, that doesn't make sense, I can create a lot more clones now, but there is no space for them in my tiny apartments, maybe buying a house is not a bad idea after all.'
As they left the Hokage Tower Itachi said, "Let's take a long break before our next mission."
"Yea, a good idea, Itachi." Yuta said thinking about Danzo.
"Fine by me." Hikari said patiently.
'Huh, Hikari I know would argue and demand to go on the next mission straight away, what do you did to her you impostor?' Yuta thought, looking surprised at Hikari.
"Then I will contact you guys after a week or so." Itachi said and everyone went on their own business.
Yuta went to buy some groceries as there was nothing in his fridge at home since he was on a long mission away from the village. As Yuta was coming closer to his apartment's door, he sensed something and thought, 'Huh, that's new, what is she doing there?' as he opened his door with a key.
As Yuta was entering his apartment, he said in a calm tone without even looking, "It's not safe to barge into the fuinjutsu specialist's house like that, what if I had some lethal traps here?"
"But you don't." Hikari said annoyedly, "We need to talk! Privately!" She stated as a matter of fact, standing in the middle of the room with her arms crossed.
"Fine" Yuta replied, performed a tiger hand seal with his left hand, activating the privacy seals inscribed on the walls that he usually uses when his shadow clones drawing seals for him, so no one will pry into his secret fuinjutsu style.
"You can talk now." Yuta said looking at Hikari expectantly.
"What was that, huh, privacy seals, why do you even have that in your house? That is suspicious!" Hikari said with accusation and a slight smile.
"Said the girl who barged into said house with intention to speak privately." Yuta said tiredly with a sigh.
"Humph, fine." Hikari said faking being annoyed, then she dropped the act and become serious and said, "Back then, when we were attacked by the Root shinobi, your expression and reaction tells me, that you were knew about the Root already, isn't that right?"
'What the hell? Is she coming here to interrogate me or something? She isn't even that attentive to details usually, seems like she observed and analyzed my reaction back then despite the dangerous situation, it doesn't seem like her… Well, two people can play this game.'
"I can say the same about you. Get to the point already." Yuta said calmly, acting as if everything that is happening right now is completely natural.
"Well, you may know about the Root in general, but you might not know about the leader of the Root and what kind of person he is." Hikari said in a serious tone, "And I could tell you, if he already targeted our team for some reason, then he won't stop until we all dead, trust me on that!"
'She knew about Danzo? Who the hell is she?'
"Even if what you say is true, why are you telling me this?" Yuta asked, still acting calmly, while inside he already has a turmoil of emotions and fast-spinning thoughts in his mind.
Hikari sighed tiredly and said, "You don't trust me and staying cautious, I get it. But if you want to survive you should think about what I said, sooner or later we have to do something about this, or all our team will end up dead. Be careful."
As she said that she left Yuta's apartments without saying anything more than that.
As she left, Yuta sat on his bed and calmed down, thinking about what Hikari said.
'I can't figure it out at all, she is a complete mystery. Her obsession with learning jutsu and training during the academy and first months of team-two, this much I can understand, but then the tiny slips in her behavior and things she says, her craziness in fights and killing enemies, and now her knowing about Root and Danzo all of a sudden… This all just doesn't add up… Well, never mind, I can figure it out later.
Did she really come here to warn me about Danzo? Why would she do that? She wants me to be careful? Is that what it is? It's not like me being careful can save us, at least not in her opinion as she doesn't know my true capabilities of course. No, she is probably up to something, maybe she has a plan on how deal with Danzo? That is just a wishful thinking, besides she was correct, I can't really trust her, but with my time-travel cheat it not really matters, as the trust can be substituted with emergency time-travel anyway, right?'
Yuta though with a grin, thanking his past self for making a good decision of choosing the time control ability when he was about to be reincarnated.
With that Yuta decided to wait and see how the events would unfold, ready to intervene and make his own moves.
Later this day at Hiruzen's office, Danzo was seating in front of Hiruzen's desk with an annoyed expression on his face.
"Why did you summon me so suddenly? Our planned meeting is just tomorrow, can't you wait for a day?" Danzo said annoyedly to Hiruzen.
Hiruzen looks very angry at Danzo and if a stare can kill, then Danzo would be already dead with all his ten sharingans being wasted on Izanagi jutsu with no use.
"You dare to act like nothing happened?!" Hiruzen yelled suddenly at Danzo.
"What do you mean, Hiruzen? Have you finally lost your mind? If you don't tell me what it is all about how would I know?!" Danzo responded calmly but raised his voice at the end of the sentence as if being wronged for nothing.
"Don't play games with me, Danzo! You know exactly what I meant!" Hiruzen yelled and slammed his palm on the desk, "You send Root shinobi to eliminate team-two during their last mission!"
"What!? I don't know where you are getting with that, but I can assure you, that all of my Root shinobi are accounted for, and I didn't send them anywhere close to the team-two or whatever!" Danzo yelled as well, matching Hiruzen's tone, acting as if he was falsely accused of something he didn't do.
"You even dare to deny that!?" Hiruzen yelled in the final spark of rage, then he sighed and calmed down and said in a calmer tone, "You can deny all you want, but we both know what happened! I don't know your reasons for doing that, but I will not tolerate you sending our shinobi to kill their comrades, especially when it's not called for."
"As I said before, I don't know what you are talking about, neither do I care. I operate my Root with utmost secrecy and if I send them to eliminate a threat among our ranks, I do so for the sake of the village, you know that very well, Hiruzen. But I didn't send anyone to target team-two that you are speaking about!" Danzo stated with firm resolve.
Hiruzen sighed and visibly became even more tired. Then after a few seconds he regain his composure and with a new resolve he looked at Danzo and said, "You will not do anything against team-two, I forbid you from it!"
"Whatever you say, Hiruzen, neither I intent to in the first place." Danzo said firmly and left the office, slamming the door harder than he should when leaving.
