Chapitre 164: Ainz, Luminous and the Next Stage of the Plan
Half an hour later I stumbled out of the front door, my legs somewhat weak as I felt the burning sensation of intense hickeys all over my body. Our small time together was rather, energetic, but now I had work to do... Despite the heat that flushed through my skin from the intense sensations over my body. It was so bad that I had to change my dress to a trench coat of pure black and purple, covering the majority of my skin. Shadowstar became a full blown leather glove that looked like something that a military officer in the third world war of Earth would have worn.
My silver hair framed the inside of my raised collar as silver buttons lined the exterior of my trench coat with silver chains dangling from pocket exterior to pocket exterior. In a turn of fashion I put my sheathed katana on the side of my hip, the sheath itself being a beautiful crimson and black, the tsuba gleaming in a dark purple and dull gold. Stepping out into the sun the heat was beating down onto me. Fortunately I was an Avatar of Nature and easily thermoregulated the temperature to be the most moderate I could manage. My destination now was the war room where I would teleport Ainz and Luminous.
Taking a step into the street I was now walking forwards towards the round table where the war councils were held. Figurines were splayed over the top of a massive continent sized map as Benimaru, Rimuru and several of their subordinates discussed the upcoming conflict with the Empire.
"Rimuru-sama, we do not have enough men and supplies to bring all citizens to Tempestus while simultaneously fighting off an entire army." One of the Orc subordinates spoke up as Geld was sitting among them, contemplating something.
"Han-san, I understand this, but we need to do it."
"I do not understand! This is completely unexpected and insane..."
I blinked before I licked my lips and stepped forwards. The clicking of my boots onto the floor of the room brought some attention because no door was opened. Their moods instantly shifted from frustrated to reverential, bowing their heads in my presence despite knowing that I didn't care for such formalities.
"""" Silviana-sama! """""
They all shouted in unison, bringing a modicum of unity to a previously divided chamber. I decided to end this bullshit debate before It inconvenienced my plans to speak with my two biggest worries.
"It is not insane. Insanity is coming to invade us and we do not have time to trundle about." Confusion broke through many expressions as they stayed silent and continued to listen.
"An apocalyptic event is falling down upon us and we have very little time for conventional logic. As it is we have already enacted several plans to allow our people to survive, our society and culture to survive. I have finished two of them already, the first being completed as we speak. BUT! I have a third plan that needs to be discussed right at this moment with two of our allies/truced frenemies." Rimuru perked up at my mentioning of frenemies.
"Silviana-sama... C-can the population be informed?" I sighed and walked over towards my seat, Geld stepping out of it only for me to wave him down, letting him continue to sit.
"Yes. We need to inform the populous, however... We need to have a fully fledged plan otherwise it will only sow panic and discord. Thus, we will finish my plans in short term and in the next day or two we will make a public announcement to the entire city, nation, hopefully by that stage."
"V-very well. I apologise for my earlier actions I-"
"Do not apologise! You did exactly what we taught you to do, question orders when they lack soundness. I will not condemn you for this, it is also a consequence of our level of secrecy."
"Thank you Silviana-sama!" Rimuru smiled before Ciel slammed through the doors to the room, Ainz and Luminous behind her. Albedo, Demiurge, Shalltear, Cocytus, Nigredo and Rubedo all walked in behind Ainz, his figure an intimidating one at the best of times, let alone when he is in the heart of previous enemy territory. To outline his discomfort and caution the presence of Rubedo was a clear sign. She was exactly the same as Albedo in stature, height, breasts, but she was different in the way that she was completely android-like. No wings graced her lower back, a simple flaring energy field making up for it as her ocular sockets gleamed in ominous golden-red. Her exoskeleton covering was made up of hexagonal pieces of metal that were the exact colour of skin.
Luminous was on the opposite side of Ciel from Ainz, her entourage including her two Vampire servants, Hinata and several paladins of the order. Luminous herself was resplendent in a gothic dress that was a deep navy blue with small smatterings of white amidst the lace and chiffon at the edges. The presence of the two Emperor's of her nation was a clear sign that she was the same as Ainz in caution and mistrust.
I ignored both their discomfort however and motioned for the subordinates that were previously in the room to move off to the side. This gesture was taken as permission to sit from the two influential figures, and thus they did so. Ainz's people stood behind him, neatly arrayed in a curved line at his side of the table, the same was done by Luminous as she did not wish to be outdone by the new guy. Geld stood up at this point and offered me my seat, Rimuru taking up the other corner of the table. Ciel stood behind Rimuru with Benimaru, Geld and the subordinates standing behind him. Whilst behind me I had no one... I felt a bit left out so I whispered under my breath for Ancalagon.
Shadowstar now in a glove form oozed off shadow as Ancalagon, who was previously in the shield, was summoned to my side. The presence immediately set them both off and they stood, only to realise that the dragon was shrunk and laying behind me, it's head comfortably laying on my lap as I gave it pets. Ainz was practically staring daggers at the dragon, Albedo and Demiurge tensed and vying to fight at any moment. Luminous's side was more collected however as they simply cast a holy shield around Luminous herself, preparing for combat if necessary.
"I apologise, I was feeling lonely all by myself..." Rimuru scoff-chuckles as Ciel grinned from ear to ear, her eyes looking over at me with the hilarity that only a Manas could understand. Ainz and Luminous sat down trepidatiously.
"Ahum. Then we shall begin. I have called you both here today to discuss and important matter that involves the entirety of our nations and factions." Grim concentration spread over both of them in unique ways, Ainz in the flare of his undead flames and Luminous in the intensity of her heterochromatic irises.
"It has come to my attention that there will be a Multiverse spanning apocalypse coming to us within days, maybe weeks if we are lucky." Many of the subordinates gasped, Albedo and Demiurge speaking secretly through magic, the magicules being disturbed slightly.
"It is called, The Warp."
"The Warp?" Ainz was the first to speak as he steepled his skeletal hands and fingers, the flames within his eyes turning a darker more viscous red... Most likely memories of the dying world that he had left to become this skeleton percolating in his mind.
"A dimension of pure thought, emotion and chaos. Known as the Immaterium by some, it is the realm of eldritch gods beyond comprehension. I could continue on with exact details pertaining to each of the gods I know, but they would surely become irrelevant in the face of that which I do not know... What we DO know, however, is that our world will be the first intrusion of this force into this multiverse."
"Is there a chance to fight back...?" Luminous spoke up now as all hesitance was dropped, her tone chilling cold and calculating.
"Guy Crimson has recently agreed to my plan of fleeing the world."
SILENCE... Utter fucking silence... They had seen how much of a monster he was in power at the Walpurgis. That some crazy son of a gun was now agreeing with me that fleeing was the correct option, a hard to believe statement for sure.
"How can you prove that he did?"
"I can summon him if you wish, not that he'd be too pleased since he is moving his palace so that he may also join us in retreating."
Luminous looked at Ainz, Ainz doing the same to Luminous as they then turned to confer with their subordinates. Demiurge looked quite emphatic about what he was speaking on, Albedo the same but gazing at me in mistrust. Rubedo was completely opposite to Albedo however as she started walking over to me, nonchalantly. No one noticed until she was right up against Ancalagon.
"What a pretty dragon." She reached her hand out, attempting to pet him. He looked to me for my permission as I nodded and smiled. Rubedo was an unknown character in Overlord for me as the story ended long before the ending could be reached, the war starting before it was finished fully. Permission granted, Ancalagon let her pet him, the woman smiling in delight as she got to pet a dragon this close up without getting yelled at by either of her sisters.
"You're a nice woman..."
"Thank you. You aren't so bad yourself." She turned her head to the side, nodding as she robotically turned back and walked up to Ainz again. Meanwhile, Albedo was shocked beyond belief, especially at the fact that someone had been able to have a cordial conversation with her without anything going wrong. Ainz was also surprised as he watched his super weapon softly and calmly walk to him after petting a potential enemy.
"Your plan... What does it involve and how does it incorporate us?"
"Ah, Luminous. Well you see, we need to complete certain steps to allow Tempest and Dwargon to flee. If you are to help you would be asked to help on the front lines of our conflict with the Eastern Empire." Luminous immediately sat up fully, her eyes locking onto mine as she cracked a small smile. These particular bugs had been annoying her for a long time and thus mentioning that we were at war, gave her a perfect reason to enter in on our side... We were asking for aid against a regime that wished to wipe out an entire people. At least, that is the excuse that she would use.
"But what of our 'factions' our people?" Ainz piped in quickly after.
"Nazerick would be allowed to move into the forest of Jura along with the population of the entirety of Luminous's nation. You would be given your own cities to manage and run, based upon the populations that you have and we would keep peace in the forest via a council. Tempest, who own all the land, will have three representatives whilst the other two cities will have three representatives as well. In this way we can facilitate cordial relations and work with one another in dire circumstances."
"That is a good spiel but nothing stops you from kicking us out when we reach, wherever we are fleeing to..."
"Technically this is true. But what is the alternative? Death? Corruption... Hearing the depraved laughter of thirsting gods? No, i think you will agree to this, even if it is only temporary."
Several minutes of them speaking with their entourage ensued before they came to a unanimous agreement.
"We will accept the terms, but! It will only be in effect so long as we stay here."
"I agree with Ainz, the Church of Luminous accepts these terms only up until the point of successful retreat."
"Done."
Rimuru nodded and clapped his hands, several wine glasses hovering down and being placed before Luminous and Ainz. This was more of a ritual thing than an actual drink, thus we all took up our cups and raised them. And with that, another two Demon Lords were secured for the Ritual, our conflict will be quicker and we could run at a faster pace.
'Finally, now we just have to slaughter the Empire and collect as many souls as we can... The less souls poured over to Exandria the easier it will be for my cute little Death Goddess.'
