After the meeting ended, the only person left in the room was a female worker, dressed in a blue jacket and pants, packing the remaining bottled water into a basket. The President took the elevator, descending to a silent, vacant hallway that led to a golden-doored entrance flanked by two armed soldiers on either side, both saluting him immediately. To the left of the hallway, three more soldiers patrolled, unaware of his presence as he continued toward his office.
Once inside, he removed his jacket, carefully folding it and placing it beside him on a white couch. Loosening his tie slightly, he took out his phone, his thumb gliding over the screen before bringing it to his ear. After a few seconds, the phone beeped.
"The process must appear fair to everyone, so Park Junho is handling the investigation in your place. Don't worry; I understand the stakes of losing him, and I'll find a way to convince the general assembly without revealing what you told me."
