It had been four days, and the tension between her parents had not ebbed. When her mother called her for a private chat during her day off, Adela hoped it had nothing to do with that. It was not fun being in the middle of a big confrontation. She wondered if her mother wanted her to convince Lucia of something. What else could it be about? The only other time her father had gotten close to this was when Lucia begged him to let her go to boarding school because their mother and the queen wanted her to marry Prince Michael. Maybe their father saw the impending marriage and was against the union.
She wondered if her mother wanted her to play mediator in favour of her sister marrying the man she once considered to be her future husband. She hoped her mother had more heart than that.
I guess it's easy to see why Adela and Josephine are some of my favourite characters in this story... then again I can't pick they're all so unique.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter because I loved laying it out. I think it came out a tad more clear than the image I have been playing in my mind.
Before I clock off. Comments keep me going. I love hearing your opinions. It's the one unique thing about webnovels compared to trad books. I get to hear your opinions, get motivated, and close possible plot holes or add to the story based on your reations.
Enough of my rumbling (I am a motor mouth irl).
Thank you guys,
