Chapitre 23: What are we waiting for to get started?

The life pearl is one of the 10 supreme artifacts that existed in this world.

Suddenly vanished from the radar at the same time as the first patriarch of the Windsors, many people thought it would be on the latter's corpse. But since this corpse has also not been found, the search has not progressed.

If the life pearl was so sought after even after so many years, it is mainly because of its ability to automatically heal its bearer even from the most serious injuries, like a severed leg or arm.

There was even a rumor that, by using a special method that would involve sacrificing the pearl, one could resurrect a person whose death dated back less than 24 hours.

"So, your longevity, is it thanks to the life pearl?"

The life pearl was more than enough evidence to lend credibility to some of the entity's words before him.

If he truly was the first patriarch, it would make sense for him to possess the lost treasure of the Windsors, long ago.

Adall could now grant him some of his trust.

Orion immediately responded to Adall's question.

"My longevity is the result of the magical spell [Eternal Youth] that the primordial of time, Chrono, cast on me so that I could await your coming into this world. But, I admit that this pearl has saved my life more than once during my adventures. Well, well... We've talked enough about me. Let's get back to you, my boy. So, what do you think about becoming a primordial?"

Becoming a primordial was nothing more than accepting the burden of the survival of billions of people, whether they be enemies or allies, beings he did not know or who had rejected him when he needed them most.

However, becoming one also meant having overwhelming power. Power that would allow him to uncover the truth behind the deaths of his grandfather and father. Power that could also help him get revenge on the person who had removed his magical circuit, leading him to live in fear of his own cousin for two long years before being cast out like a vagrant by members of his own family.

The memories of the family council came back to him at that moment, and he made his decision.

However, he had to confirm one last thing.

"Why me in particular? You are mentioned in history as the most talented person who has ever existed. So, why wait all these years for me to be born?"

"Hahahahahahahaaa..."

It wasn't the first time Orion had laughed at one of Adall's questions since the beginning of their discussion, but this time, it was different.

The reaction was more lively!

Enough, in any case, to catch the young magician off guard and make him jump slightly.

"Sorry, kid! I wasn't laughing at you. I remember asking the primordials the same question when they entrusted me with the mission of waiting for you. I was severely scolded later by my master, the primordial of darkness, Lilith."

Silence!

An awkward silence fell over the room at Orion's admission of having coveted the role of primordial in the past.

"Don't worry! This destiny, no one can steal it from you, even if they try with all their might. As for the reason why this role belongs to you and no one else, it's because of your magical sensitivity."

"Huh?"

"The first notable difference between us and the primordials is magical sensitivity. Unlike us, they are all born with a sensitivity of 100%. A value that only you have been able to approach in 1000 years, thanks to your sensitivity that exceeds 99%."

"99%? Aren't I supposed to have 97%?"

The results of his magical potential test had made enough noise to be known even to inhabitants of other continents. Orion, who boasted of knowing him well, should naturally know this.

"You weren't ejected from the mana cube at the 97th minute, were you?"

The room became silent once again.

The chirping of the crickets made the situation even more melodramatic than it should have been.

("How did he know that?")

The magical sensitivity test was designed so that the person being evaluated would be automatically ejected from the mana cube when they reached their limit. It was therefore not necessary to look for the way out. Moreover, it was impossible to find it without being at least a magician of the 3rd circle.

At least, that was the case until Adall appeared.

At the 90th minute of his magical sensitivity test, the young boy felt an urgent need to go to the bathroom. This need was so intense that he decided to abandon the ongoing evaluation and automatically began searching for an exit, a mission that took him 7 minutes to complete, hence his evaluation of 97%.

Adall, who expected to be scolded upon his return from the bathroom, found himself, against all odds, congratulated by everyone. He therefore decided to keep this experience secret.

Orion's voice was heard once again.

"The simple fact that you managed to find the exit without possessing magical circles proves that your magical sensitivity is very close to that of the primordials' 100%. With the ritual of optimizing magical sensitivity that grants 1 to 2 additional points to the already possessed value, you should be able to reach 100%. That's why you are the only one who can become a primordial."

Adall now had a look of understanding on his face.

Even if Orion or anyone else underwent the ritual of optimizing magical sensitivity, they could only reach a value of 97% at best. They would still be missing 3 points to meet the initial condition for transformation into a primordial.

Adall took a deep breath and immediately exhaled when he felt he was reaching the limits of his lungs.

Since Orion had answered his question, he now had to answer his own. An answer that, obviously, would decide the fate of the world.

Refusing to become a primordial was a pure and simple condemnation for this world, while becoming one did not automatically guarantee victory.

After a few more seconds of thought, a mischievous smile appeared on his lips as he declared:

"What are we waiting for to get started?"
