Chapitre 204: Like an unfaithful husband

VALENCIA'S POV

"Meet me in half an hour in the forest. I have something to discuss and decide," I said to Dylan before walking towards the apartment I was living in with Maverick.

"You took your time," Maverick looked at me as I saw him placing the dishes on the dining table.

Seeing him setting the table, I didn't know why, but for a second, I got the feeling that I was one of those unworthy and unfaithful husbands who hid stuff from their wives, and he was the innocent wife who was oblivious to her husband's affair.

The thought made me cringe at myself. 

'Tell him,' Aurora said, and I approached him.

"Maverick, I'll have to leave," I said, and he paused.

"I figured that much. Can you at least eat before leaving?" He asked.

I furrowed my brows. What did he mean he figured that much?
