If she ever felt 50% attracted to me, this manipulation would work, or it would flop terribly. I don't care if she has a mate out there. I want her, Reaper. You and I both need her,' I said before I licked the blood drops from the corner of her mouth.

'What did you do, Maverick? Your mate betrayed you and left, but how could you do this to her? Why do you keep forgetting you are not actually a beta just because you are pretending to be one? You are an alpha, for god's sake,' Reaper said, and I hummed.
