With nearly three hundred of their friends and family present to bear witness, Will and Lyra stood before the former's parents, Ars and Orianna, within the largest and most spacious hall of Oirthearhall. Bar a handful of children wearing grey tunics and white dresses, signifying their unfledged status and purity, nearly everyone else in the hall was wearing black and silver formalwear with the symbols of their respective Asterisms on their left breast and the crest of the Oirthear Constellation on their backs, the former signifying where their hearts belonged and the latter symbolizing their shared burden.
