Chapitre 9: All Green, Part: 2

Orion's voice echoed in Oscar's mind, laden with urgency and determination. "We have to stop them, Oscar. If we don't, Mistral will be consumed in a gang war."

Oscar's heart raced, his fear palpable. "No, it's too dangerous. We'll die," he argued, his voice trembling with doubt.

"Do you really want to stand by and watch Mistral burn? We have to try," Orion countered firmly. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on Oscar, who realized the consequences of inaction.

Oscar took a deep breath, reluctantly agreeing. "Alright, let's do this."

With renewed resolve, they carefully climbed up to the ceiling, ensuring they weren't spotted by the thugs below. The shadows provided cover as they moved with practiced stealth. Reaching a vantage point above the main hall, they used [COLORS Magic] and flames to transform their clothes, adopting their alter ego's appearance. Flames flickered around Oscar, masking his identity.

Once the transformation was complete. He leaped down into the center of the room, landing with a dramatic flourish. The crowd of thugs fell silent, all eyes on the newcomer.

The boss's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized the unexpected challenger.

Orion took control, his voice projecting with authority through Oscar. "I challenge you! If we win, you have to stop this and disband your gang."

The boss let out a thunderous laugh. "Oh yeah? And what happens if I win?"

Orion's voice didn't waver. "If you win, you can have my head." But Oscar was not so sure.

The boss's laughter ceased, replaced by a sinister grin. "Deal," he said, clapping his hands.

Suddenly, the floor beneath them began to shift and expand. Mechanical sounds filled the air as the arena transformed, creating a giant fighting pit with various hazards and obstacles. The boss returned to his throne, grabbing a giant mecha shift axe that matched his imposing size. With the weapon strapped to his back, he jumped into the arena, landing with a ground-shaking thud.

The crowd roared in anticipation, their excitement palpable. Oscar and Orion faced the boss who was 5 times the size of them, knowing they were in for the fight of their lives. The boss's aura was overwhelming, a mix of brute strength and ruthless cunning.

The battle commenced with a fierce exchange of blows. Oscar moved with agility, dodging the boss's powerful swings. Orion guided his movements, their synchronization vital in the face of such a formidable opponent. Flames danced around Oscar, each strike infused with the magic they had mastered.

Despite their combined efforts, the boss's strength was staggering. His mecha shift axe swung with deadly precision, each impact sending shockwaves through the arena. Oscar struggled to keep up, his body pushed to its limits.

Orion's voice remained steady, though uncertainty tinged his words. "We have to find a weakness. Keep moving, don't let him pin you down."

Oscar nodded, focusing on evading the boss's relentless attacks. The arena's hazards added to the challenge, with spikes, pits, and rotating blades complicating their movements. Sweat dripped down Oscar's face as he narrowly avoided a crushing blow.

The boss taunted them, his confidence unshaken. "Is this the best you can do? Pathetic!"

Oscar gritted his teeth, feeling the strain in his muscles. "We can't give up," he muttered, pushing through the exhaustion.

Orion scanned the arena, searching for any advantage. "There! The control panel! If we can reach it, we might be able to turn the arena's traps against him."

With renewed determination, Oscar began maneuvering towards the control panel, dodging the boss's swings with increasing difficulty. The boss noticed their shift in focus and intensified his assault, aiming to cut them off.

Oscar's heart pounded as he sprinted towards the panel. Just as he was within reach, the boss unleashed a devastating blow, knocking Oscar to the ground. Pain shot through his body, and he struggled to stand.

"Get up, Oscar! We can't lose now!" Orion urged desperation creeping into his voice.

Summoning every ounce of strength, Oscar pushed himself up. With a burst of speed, he reached the control panel and deactivated the traps. The arena came silent with the mechanical fury, of the spikes, flames, and blades, turning off.

The boss roared in anger of his arena shutting off, his movements becoming more erratic as he became more angry and murderous. Oscar seized the opportunity, launching a series of fiery attacks that pushed the boss back.

Despite the onslaught, the boss's resilience was astounding. His determination is unyielding. Oscar and Orion knew they needed a decisive strike to end the battle.

"Now, Oscar! Go for the heart!" Orion shouted.

With a final surge of power, Oscar charged at the boss, flames engulfing his fists. The boss raised his axe to counter, but Oscar's speed outmatched him. With a powerful punch, Oscar struck the boss in the chest, the flames burning through his defenses.

The boss staggered, his grip on the axe loosening. Oscar didn't relent, delivering a flurry of punches that shattered the boss's aura. With one last, mighty blow, he sent the boss crashing to the ground.

The hall fell silent as the thugs watched in disbelief. The once-mighty boss lay defeated, his plans in ruins. Oscar stood over him, panting heavily, flames flickering around him.

Orion's voice echoed in Oscar's mind, filled with relief and pride. "We did it, Oscar. Mistral is safe."

Oscar nodded, his exhaustion giving way to a sense of accomplishment. He turned to the crowd of thugs. "This ends now. Disband and leave Mistral."

The thugs, witnessing their leader's defeat, began to laugh. And with that, a thunderous boom came the crater the boss was once in.

Oscar looked for the source of the sound in the crater and saw that the boss was nowhere to be found. When Oscar turned, he saw the boss standing right next to him. Before he could react, the boss sent him crashing into the arena's wall.

"Oscar, get up! Hurry!" I yelled at him. Through his eyes, I saw the boss looking more savage and murderous than before, his aura regenerating rapidly. The boss took heavy steps toward Oscar, a cruel smile on his face, ready to finish the job.

"I-I-I can't," Oscar stammered, falling back to the ground, barely holding himself up from the last blow.

I realized that Oscar was knocked out and took control. I had to find a way to get out of here. There was no way to stop him in Oscar's current state. Slowly, I pushed myself up, struggling but managing to stand. I held my side in pain as blood slowly oozed from the damage inflicted by that brutal hit.

This can't be the end, I thought. I refuse to be slaughtered by this guy. I have to save Oscar. I promise.

The boss finally reached Oscar and looked down at his weak, broken body, barely clinging to life. "I can't wait to chop your head off. Do you have any weapons I could add to my throne by chance? If you don't, that's fine. Once I'm done with Little Miss Malachite, I'll have enough weapons to make five more thrones," the boss taunted, grabbing Oscar's head to bring him face-to-face.

Oscar murmured something, and the boss brought him closer. "You say something?" he asked.

"Yeah, I said 'Screw you!'" Oscar shouted, I blasted a punch of blood and fire into the boss's face, piercing his eye with a spike made of blood.

The boss fell, writhing in pain and holding his eye.

[Semblance Unlocked: Blood Flame Art]

A blue screen popped up, and I smiled. I waved a hand over my body, and my blood danced into flames, slowly healing my injuries. Once healed, my aura began to regenerate, coming back as a deep red color, mixed with gold. The red represented my aura, and the gold represented Oscar's. It wasn't Ozpin's green—it was my color, red.

The boss's aura regenerated quickly as he held his bloody face. "I'll kill you, you little shit!" he roared, charging at me with murderous intent.

I held out my palms, and my dried blood ignited into flames, blinding him as I jumped out of the way, causing him to crash into a wall.

I took this chance to use my semblance again, but nothing happened. I noticed there was no more of my dried blood. I opted for using normal flames, burning his back. But I saw that after the attack, the boss's aura flickered and quickly regenerated, strengthening itself. It must be his semblance.

The only damaged part of his body was his eyes. I realized I either had to break his aura quickly to damage him, but I only had a five-second window of attack. Or...

The boss's aura regenerated, and he got up, more enraged than before. We charged at each other. With his vision blinded in one eye, I kept to his blind side, hitting him with consecutive [Flaming Fist] attacks, but it wasn't enough to bring down his aura.

While fighting, I glanced at the ceiling and formed an idea. Using flames, I boosted myself up to the ceiling and reached a giant support beam in the center. I punched and broke one side, then moved to another beam. Just as I was about to break the last section, the boss reeled back and threw his axe at me. I hadn't noticed, and the axe blade pierced my shoulder. I screamed in pain, looking at the axe embedded deep in my flesh.

The boss, noticing my vulnerability, called for a spear from one of his men. They handed him the weapon, and he took his time aiming for my head. "I guess I won you shit!" The Boss yelled out.

With the boss's axe piercing my shoulder, his downfall was imminent. Blood dripped from my wound, and I ignited it using my semblance, burning the last section of the support beam.

With the base being on the lowest level of Mistral, the whole grand hall and the rest of the base began to cave in.

As I fell, accepting what seemed like certain death, I thought, I'm sorry, Oscar. I couldn't save you, but the rest of Mistral will be...

Somewhere deep within the Grimm lands...

Salem stood in her grand hall, a solitary figure amidst the eerie shadows. Her gaze fixed upon the desolate landscape outside, fingers idly weaving arcane energies.

A manifestation of shadows materialized at the far end of the hall, drawing Salem's attention with an unsettling presence.

"Daevor, what is it?" Salem's voice was cool and commanding, betraying a hint of melancholy upon hearing the news.

"Ozpin is gone for good," Daevor's shadowy form replied, the words echoing with finality.

Salem's demeanor softened momentarily, a flicker of emotion crossing her face. "I am saddened by his death," she admitted softly, her thoughts momentarily drifting to memories long past. "I wish he could have witnessed the world's end with me. A pity."

"Go," Salem commanded with a tone that brooked no argument, "meet with the others in Mistral. Retrieve the Relic. With Ozpin out of the picture, our path to revenge is clearer."

Daevor nodded silently, shadows swirling around him as he vanished from the hall, leaving Salem once more in solitude with her thoughts.

Alone again, Salem turned back to the window, her gaze distant and contemplative. "Oh Ozma," she whispered to the empty air, her voice carrying a mix of regret and twisted nostalgia, "I wish I could have seen you burn."

Somewhere in an undisclosed location in Mistral...

Oscar groggily awakened to find himself in an unfamiliar room, dimly lit by a solitary lamp. Pain shot through his shoulder as he attempted to sit up, prompting him to query the voice in his head for answers, only to receive silence in response.

The creak of the door drew his attention, and in walked Neo, clad in her distinctive ice cream-themed outfit. A smile played on her lips as she approached with a cup of tea in hand, offering it to Oscar before settling at the edge of the bed. Holding up a sign, she conveyed, "I saved you, now we're even."

"How did you know I was down there?" Oscar asked, perplexed.

Neo flipped the sign, her message changing fluidly. "I was disguised as one of the thugs and saw what happened. Brilliant move collapsing the entire base. The Verdant Syndicate is no more, thanks to you."

Oscar started to respond, but Neo unexpectedly crawled onto his lap, leaning close to his face. "You were pretty strong going against the leader of the Verdant Syndicate," her sign read, her finger tracing lightly over his chest. Heat flushed into Oscar's cheeks as he blushed profusely, eliciting a playful giggle from Neo. Oscar's cheeks flushed crimson. Her proximity and teasing gestures caught him off guard, sending his heart racing. Her giggle only intensified his embarrassment

Just as things seemed to reach a moment of awkward tension, the door swung open once more. Little Miss Malachite entered, her authoritative presence filling the room. She scrutinized Oscar with sharp eyes, sizing him up as if assessing his worthiness. "So this is the kid who brought down the Verdant Syndicate," she remarked, turning to Neo for confirmation, clearly skeptical of Oscar's feat.

Neo nodded emphatically, confirming Oscar's role in the Syndicate's downfall. "Well, kid," Little Miss Malachite continued, her voice carrying a hint of admiration, "I owe you one, big time. Thanks to you, I now rule Mistral's underground." She chuckled heartily. "If you ever need anything, just ask." Her demeanor softened briefly, a rare glimpse of gratitude from someone not known for generosity.

Turning to Neo, she added, "Come on, Neo, I've got a job for you." Neo with a quick peck on Oscar's cheek, Neo then followed Little Miss Malachite out of the room, leaving Oscar to process the whirlwind of events that had just unfolded.

"Too bad I'm busy with business," Little Miss Malachite called back as she exited, casting a parting glance at Oscar. "Before I go, what's your name, kid?"

"O-Oscar Pine," he stammered in reply.

"Cute," she quipped with a smirk and a laugh, before disappearing down the hall.

Left alone in the quiet room, Oscar processed everything that had transpired. He had unwittingly altered the course of Mistral's underworld, gained the favor of its new ruler, and earned an unexpected peck on the cheek from Neo. It was a lot to take in for a farm boy turned accidental hero.

As he sipped the tea Neo had brought him, Oscar couldn't help but wonder what other surprises Mistral had in store for him. One thing was certain: life had taken an unexpected turn, and he was now embroiled in a world far more complex and dangerous than he could have ever imagined.

As Oscar walked through the familiar streets of Mistral, his mind buzzed with unanswered questions. He had saved the city from a looming gang war and earned the gratitude of Little Miss Malachite, but the silence from the voice in his head, usually so present and guiding, troubled him deeply.

He passed by bustling markets and winding alleys, the city's vibrant life continuing around him as though nothing had changed. Yet, internally, Oscar felt adrift. He couldn't shake the feeling that something important was missing—that he was missing a part of himself.

With each step homeward, he hoped for a response, a sign, anything from the voice that shared his mind. He recalled the times they had worked together, strategizing, fighting, even bantering. It had become a constant presence, a companion through thick and thin.
