Chapitre 100: Chapter 99 - Final Exams 01.

[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]

Third Person POV

Hogwarts.

...

...

Snape was walking through the corridors while someone followed him with heavy footsteps right behind.

"Are you going to follow me around the entire school?" Snape looked back, seeing a woman with black hair who had been following him the whole time.

"You still haven't answered my questions," she said, looking at him with frustration.

"Am I obliged to answer you?" Snape raised an eyebrow.

"We have an agreement..." she insisted.

"Our agreement doesn't include me telling you things. Go to your class now. Goodbye." Snape shrugged and started to leave her behind, continuing through the corridors.

"You...!" She began to grit her teeth but wasn't about to give up, still following him, trying to get his attention as her shoes hit the floor loudly.

"Bellatrix... you have no proof... Why this stubbornness? People are watching us," Snape sighed, seeing that the girl hadn't given up.

"Let them watch. They're just insignificant people," she said without hesitation.

They kept walking while Bellatrix truly made a scene throughout Hogwarts' corridors. Following the fifth-year boy, it was clear the students witnessing this were gossiping as they passed by. After all, these two were the most feared in the school, yet even the dangerous Bellatrix seemed to be treated like a child in front of him.

"This is really a scoop!" one of the hidden students made sure to snap a picture with an old camera, eager to record exactly what was happening.

"This will be tomorrow's front page... Snape and Bellatrix, between love and hate," he murmured excitedly, already thinking of the headline for tomorrow's newspaper.

Leaving this student aside and returning to Snape and Bellatrix.

"Why do you want to know so badly, Bellatrix?" Snape sighed as he looked at the stubborn girl.

"I know you had something to do with that massacre in the Forbidden Forest from today's newspaper. Hundreds of giant acromantulas last night... And when I went to ask about it, they told me that redhead from Gryffindor didn't show up in her dorm after you left with her... I had to force some girls to tell me that..." she admitted.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Bellatrix... Now go back to your class, we have nothing to discuss..." Snape said.

"No! I want to know if it was you! Forget that, I know it was you! I want you to train me so I can become as strong as you..." she declared, and Snape wanted to laugh in her face.

"I doubt that's possible, Bellatrix. But anyway, I have my proof, we'll talk about our meeting at the Blacks' house some other time... Goodbye." He spoke and simply vanished with apparition, as the girl still continued to follow him.

Bellatrix didn't even have time to say anything as she stood there, seething with anger, unable to do anything. She stomped her foot again and walked in the opposite direction, heading to her class in the end.

Snape appeared in the Potions class, where there was an individual cauldron for each student this time. After all, today was the start of the final exams. He sat in his seat next to Clarissa, who greeted him. At least she wasn't as annoying as Bellatrix, not asking questions despite Snape's sudden departure from Professor Slughorn's weekly meeting.

Snape had fought the giant spiders from Friday to Saturday, and since then, had been making hair growth potions on Saturday morning with Salazar watching him until Sunday night. Today, on Monday, a newspaper appeared with the front page about the massacre of the giant spiders in the Forbidden Forest, where everyone became aware of what had happened there.

Some reporters got the scoop through a few Ministry contacts and quickly went to the scene, taking several photos of the destruction, even though the Aurors didn't allow anyone close. Snape was responsible for it, with almost no one knowing. Bellatrix was the only one who really knew who had done it, besides Lily herself, who had participated.

"Good morning, everyone! Today, we're starting our final exam. I want you to execute the potion we've been working on for a month..." Professor Slughorn appeared at that moment, greeting everyone as he gave the task. It was the most delicate potion they had learned this year.

As in the midterm exams, Snape completed his task calmly. Clarissa was a bit nervous, even though she had practiced this potion a lot with Snape, who had helped her significantly. Now, it was time to put into practice everything she had learned.

"Don't be so nervous, Clarissa," Snape said beside her, sensing her anxiety.

"Focus and do what you've practiced hundreds of times..." he said before turning to his potion, wanting to finish it.

Clarissa looked at him with her green eyes, and without saying anything, she began preparing the potion, following Snape's words in her mind.

In the end, Snape had already finished before the others. When the professor approached his desk, he didn't show surprise. He knew Snape would finish quickly and create an excellent potion.

"May I leave early, Professor Slughorn?" Snape asked.

"It's fine..." the professor replied.

"Just don't forget, you mentioned last night that you had more stock of that potion. Send me the stock of the hair growth potion later," Slughorn requested as Snape left the room.

He headed to the Astronomy Tower for his final Magical Runes class and stayed there reading his books until the lesson began. His class finally filled the room 40 minutes later, just as he finished his book.

As in any elective class, there were students from all houses present, as long as they had signed up for the course. While they received a blank parchment to respond with rune drawings, Snape began producing his, using a magical pen to create and combine some runes he had learned from ancient texts in Salazar's room.

He left the class after that, as the professor knew he excelled in her lessons. Then he moved on to the next class, entering Herbology. And before any other students arrived, a blonde appeared and came up beside him.

"I thought you'd stay and wait for me to finish the potion you helped me make for the Potions exam..." Clarissa approached him with a slight pout.

"And you needed that?" Snape said, looking at Clarissa while raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe." She murmured, then continued with a smile. "This class will be easy for me. Do you need help for the final Herbology exam?" she asked in the end, since this was her specialty.

"You think that helps?" He spoke with a small arrogant smile, not mocking the girl, but clearly indicating he was fine with the class.

"Whatever." Clarissa muttered, nodding.

Meanwhile, the class began to fill up as students entered, with the professor arriving shortly after, greeting everyone. In the corner, Lucinda was staring at Snape from afar, from another table. She hadn't spoken to him yet, as Clarissa was sitting next to him.

The Herbology class was easy for Snape once it started, and he finished quickly. Even Clarissa finished a bit later, as she followed him through the corridors after asking to leave.

"Shall we eat together afterward and prepare for the next final exams in the afternoon?" she asked.

Snape nodded in the end. They had three exams that morning and would have two more in the afternoon, one for Charms and another for Transfiguration.

Eating outside the school, on the lawn where Clarissa had found Snape for the first time that year by the Black Lake, the two stayed there for a while having their meal they brought, until they decided to return for the first exam with Professor Flitwick.

The exam was also easy for Snape, who gained an advantage by finishing before anyone else and headed to the Transfiguration class. Unlike the midterm, where he had taken the exam individually with the professor, this time she requested that he appear to take the exam with everyone, as she wouldn't have much time to focus on just one student.

Snape arrived at the empty classroom, while the professor, in her cat form, sat at the desk. He didn't say anything, and neither did she, only watching him. So, he went to his desk, opened his books, and relaxed, letting time pass without noticing. Soon, the room was filled with all the students, and when he blinked, he looked ahead. Clarissa was next to him.

"Oh, I see you've finally pulled your head out of the book. What happened with you and that Gryffindor girl? I thought you two didn't talk anymore. Now she's staring at you all the time," Clarissa commented, intrigued.

Snape looked ahead and saw Lily staring at him. Despite his gaze, the girl kept her eyes fixed on him, making Snape raise an eyebrow. At the same time, James Potter, who was nearby, didn't seem happy at all with these looks, appearing ready to cause a scene right there, but his friends were holding him back from doing anything.

Then Professor McGonagall finally appeared, transforming back into her normal form, greeting everyone without surprising them, as they were used to it by now.

"Well, let's begin with the final exams. I want you to transfigure this feather into another material, then split it in two and use the same material on both. Remember, you must maintain the same molecular element, iron, in the transfiguration," the professor instructed, and all the students began working in front of her.

It was finally Snape's turn, and he stepped forward, with everyone expecting him to do something truly incredible, even the professor, who knew of the boy's talent despite their antagonism.

But Snape didn't do anything special; he just did what was asked. After all, there was no reason for him to show off. He split the feather into two and transformed them into two daggers, like his old ones, but with unique colors. However, it wasn't anything too flashy, as he had done this before.

The professor pressed her lips together, having really expected Snape to display more of his talent, but in the end, she just nodded at him.

"Well, you've passed. Return so we can finish with the written and oral exams," she said at the end.

Snape nodded, went back to his seat, and, as she had said, there was a written exam. He completed it quickly, and the professor began calling the students one by one to ask them various questions related to Transfiguration.

Snape did reasonably well, with nothing too remarkable once again. Finally, the first day of final exams was over. Tomorrow, he would return to the same routine for the entire week, with five exams a day in many subjects.
