Chapter 2

—Karna Pov—

We were walking through the forest where a shadow dragon resided, as we heard that it was also causing trouble for the Kingdom of Blumund.

So we took the quest to kill a dragon.

Though I've been training with Shizue for two weeks now, I'm nowhere near her in combat skills. Even though I've copied her techniques, she still has years of experience.

"Even if you replicate something perfectly, it can't be beneficial to you if you don't hone it yourself. There's no such thing as copying experience," she said after she beat my ass black and blue in the last spar where I copied her techniques.

"We might be near the dragon. I can sense its presence. Don't drop your guard," I heard the voice of the woman next to me as we walked. I used the new skill I obtained—Magic Perception—to survey our surroundings. Even though Shizue also had this skill and was using it, there's no such thing as being too wary.

As we walked, my thoughts ventured towards my being in this world. I was strengthened beyond belief; if the current me were in my past world, I could probably destroy a country or something without going all out.

I have two unique skills, and both of them are strong as well. So if I fight with my full strength, I doubt even a dragon would be much trouble. As I understand from anime and manga, pure magic or holy magic cleanses dark magic. If this applies to this world, then this is a piece of cake for me with «Divine One».

«Divine One» also helped me with talking with the people of this world. It would perceive the sound waves emitted by them and translate them into words I could understand.

That is also how I understood Shizue even though we use different languages, she used Japanese and I use Sanskrit as my primary language.

Leaving that aside, we exited the forest and found ourselves looking down at the dragon, which was just lazing around in a clearing, while we were standing on a cliff.

It had black scales and was quite big, big enough to level a small town with its body weight alone. It had spikes on its head as horns and created small puffs of smoke every time it breathed out.

"Hey, do you think you can use your arrow to destroy it?" she asked me. It was logical; if I could destroy it from here, then there's no need to go fight it.

"Let me check." I noodes and took out my bow from my Spatial storage, a golden glow enveloped my hand and the bow appeared.

It is but a simple magic for creating a small dimension to store any all all things, shizue thaught it to me somewhere along the lines.

I drew the bowstring with my right hand while holding it with my left, aiming the arrow, which materialized from my energy, towards the sleeping dragon's head.

One thing I understood from Avengers: Infinity War, it was to always go for the head.

I loaded my arrow with enough energy to replicate a small nuclear bomb and released it at the dragon. A shockwave shook us as the arrow blitzed towards the dragon, leaving a golden trail behind as it went.

Another shockwave shook us as we took cover under the barrier Shizue set up. It was truly a magnificent sight. The arrow struck the head of the sleeping dragon, and it began to implode on itself, generating extreme heat that seemed to erase the head of the dragon. After that, the red-hot explosive heat began to travel outwards, covering the whole clearing, just short of touching the cliff we were standing on.

It seems that I underestimated myself too much..

"Well, that settles things. You could've gone easy and left the dragon's remains for us to make something from it, like dragon scale clothes," Shizue muttered the last part as we looked over the edge and saw what the one arrow had caused. A quarter of my magic was imbued in that arrow, and it scorched and melted the ground; now the ground seems to resemble lava.

"Also, your training is going to be tougher starting tomorrow. You have raw power, now you need control."

Ah, shit. It seems demon sensei is taking over her again. She might as well be a demon while teaching.

I nodded with a sigh. She smiled before we took off again, back to the Kingdom of Blumund's Mutual Association building.

—A year later—

Whispers hung around the western nations that the hero's new disciple is as strong as the hero, and kings had already begun to plan on how to thwart the heroes. Until this point, no one cared about a single hero running around the nations helping people.

But now it's not possible to ignore the issues anymore because the Hero of the Sun, the partner of the heroine Shizue Izawa, has announced his intention to conquer the western nations and unite them under his rule.

And some nations had offered the position of the ruler to him already.

More specifically, The kingdom of Raja and it's Queen Tetris had already offered the position of the rulers to the Heroes, under the condition that they will be fair to the people, or so the rumours say.

—Karna POV —

Currently, we were walking through the lavish halls of the Raja Kingdom; the queen had offered the throne to us after my declaration.

The world is covered in despair. I've seen it in the past one year of traveling through the western kingdoms with Shizue: slavery, poverty, illness, dictatorship.

The world is covered in despair...

So I decided to take control of all the western nations and build a peaceful future.

We will live forever; as saints, we've reached a point where time is now inconsequential to us. Yes, that's right, we evolved from being just humans into saints, and now we have immortal bodies.

We've encountered many challenges throughout the past year, including a demon that spared us out of curiosity. I am ashamed to even think about that. Even though the demon fought the two of us at once and utterly defeated us, we were spared.

But I am grateful because if he hadn't done that, I would've never confessed to Shizue. Because of that one fight, I learned the value of the human being named Shizue Izawa to me.

We trained and trained to be useful and helpful to each other, and we broke through the limits of our human bodies.

Now the only problem is Ifrit, that irritating superior spirit is still inside her. It doesn't take control, no. Rather, he can't take control of her anymore, but he still has a slight chance of taking over if she's weakened.

I don't have any intention of letting that happen at all.

We finally found the throne room. The door was massive, decorated with gold accents, and had two guards placed on either side of it. We nodded, and they opened the door, letting us in.

—Third Person—

The queen was sitting on the throne. The room was massive, with smaller thrones lining either side of the hallway. Separating the two sides was a red and gold-accented carpet paved through the middle.

The queen looked up as the door opened, and what she saw stole her breath away.

Two people entered the room: a man with silvery white hair and striking blue eyes, and beside him, a woman with luscious black hair and captivating black eyes.

Their clothes were also exquisite to look at.

The man wore golden, intricately designed chest armor that covered his torso as a whole. He wore pink flowing garment with golden accents and patterns, followed by a long red cape that flowed behind him, adding to his noble and heroic look.

He exuded a heroic, calming aura that gave a sense of security and peace to those around him.

This was the Hero Karna: the Hero of the Sun.

The woman next to him wore a black, form-fitting top with long sleeves and gold trim outlining the edges. The outfit also had a high white collar and white panels further gracing the chest area, adding contrast to the black top.

She wore a black skirt with gold accents, with black leggings underneath to ensure full coverage and flexibility. A golden-colored belt adorned her waist, and a golden brooch at her chest held a light blue cape that flowed down past her knees.

She looked just as elegant and heroic as the man beside her, the aura around her giving off a lovely, motherly feeling.

This was the Heroine Shizue Izawa: the Conqueror of Flames.

The queen stood up from her seat and slightly bowed, "Then, let us start the meeting."

This meeting would mark the start of a new era.

I know many of you have much to say. I also plan to create flashback chapters detailing their journey and bonding, as I can't leave their development and relationship without fleshing it out.

Anyways, catch you later.
